I've got new phone (Samsung Galaxy Express 2 ) and when i try to connect to internet with wifi it just writes that i have no connection.Yesterday it started working for a while but after i restarted my wifi router it just stopped.Wifi works on my laptop and tablet but not on phone.

-Yes, my phone recognizes the router.
-Yes, I have the correct key.
-Yes, I have reset my router and modem, no change.
-Yes, I have restarted my phone.
-Yes, my phone connects just fine to unsecured wireless routers.
-No, I cannot find another thread that has solved this issue.
I just got my epic last week and had it rooted within hours. I have to say, I do love this phone. But I have noticed a slight inconvenience. I have installed the wireless tether app, and it works like a charm. No problem connecting other gadgets to it. But once I'm done tethering, and switch back to using wifi, the phone doesn't seem to want to connect to my home's wifi. I've tried reseting the phone, manually killing the tether app, and force closing the app under the applications tab in settings. But still no connection. Eventually, after 30mins or so, th phone will be able to connect once again. Has anyone else had this issue? It just seems somewhat of an unexpected problem, and a minor inconvenience. Any information on this or a possible fix would be greatly appreciated.

It connects easily but when I go to either browser or opera mobile it doesn't load the login page the browser still thinks it has no connection. Is there anyway to approach this in a better way or bypass the login or at least save it to automatically do it each time.I need a wifi connection! every building has it. annoying this is once you move to a different building the settings are changed(probably because of the routers) and I have to redo it. of course it never works
View 2 Replies View RelatedOur home wifi router gives my wife and I perfect wifi speed & strength for both laptops, both i-touches & my iPad; however, bought my wife a Nexus 7 yesterday & it always states 'out of range' unless I am within 5 feet of the router (as this is upstairs in a spare room, this is not exactly ideal...)
I've seen elsewhere there are possible issues with the Nexus 7 & also the Kindle Fire HD (which is/was an alternative for my wife) & could be down to 5ghz or 2.4ghz transmission on the router?
Should the Nexus 7 go back in favour of a Kindle Fire HD (which boasts better wifi connectivity)?
My tablet will not connect to ANY WiFi network anymore. Everything was working perfectly, but had to send the tablet to Asus for RMA because it would not charge anymore. But now, when i connect to my wifi network it just says its saved and does not connect" I figured maybe it was an issue with my network, so I went out and tested it with other WiFi connections. It can scan and detect everything, but the same thing happens while trying to connect to anything. My Sony phone and laptop are able to connect to everything perfectly, but the tablet will not, even to the networks which it has previously connected to.
Things I have tried:
-Deleted all networks by using the "Forget network" option and tried connecting again.
-Tried "open" type networks without any passwords.
-Rebooted the tablet several times.
-Done a factory reset, twice.
-Tried to analyse logcat data.
Do i have to rma it again..
Every day when I arrive home, my SGS3 has connected to some open network near my house. I never want it to do this automatically but can't stop it from happening. This never happens on my wife's I phone 4s...
I've set advanced settings to not notify me when an open network is nearby, but the damned phone keeps connecting to unwanted connections. How to stop that?

I purchased Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, with OS Android 2.3.3. I tried connect to my Wi-Fi network, but no success.
My network is with a password, and i entered it correctly, i checked twice before typing the pass... The device showing that is trying access the network, but after some sec. the connection is failed. I tried reset the router, but it still failed... I dont have any other wifi connections in my range so i cant check for another wifi connection.
My phone is rooted with the latest baked snack rom as of last night. Now the phone will not connect to my wireless router. It just loops from scanning, obtaining ip address, remembering, and back over again. Did I forget to install something?

Before everything worked fine but then I upgraded to android 4.3 and connections started crashing. It still worked but connections were unstable. So I installed Samsung Kies 3 and from then on I haven't been able to connect my device to any PC. I tried everything I found on web. I have developer mode and usb debugging on. I know my cable is OK because other devices work just fine. Someone suggested going to usb settings but apparently there is no such think in android 4.3 settings, so I downloaded some apps to change my usb settings but they all require a rooted phone. I tried rooting my phone but even for that I need to connect it to a PC. I really need to connect my phone to PC to test apps(android emulator lags waaay too much).

It can find the network no problem and select it, but after I type in the password it says "Disconnected" then seems to go through Disconnected-Scanning-Connecting-Disconnected loop without letting me know whats happening. Initially I thought to myself "Perhaps it doesn't like WPA2", so I completely opened up the network. Then after scanning, it was showing on the phone that the network was still WPA/WPA2. I tried connecting to it anyways but it still asked me for a password and wouldn't let me through without one. Thinking something funky must have happened, I restarted the phone but it didn't change anything.

I just got the HTC Evo 4G yesterday and rooted it using the Unrevoked method (not sure if there is another). I then downloaded the Wireless Tether for root users. For some reason i cant get anthing to recognize it. I've tried looking for the signal with my ipod and laptop but nothing! What setting needs to be changed? I have tried to find this issue on other posts, but nothing.

I can connect to my Wifi at my uni address with no problems, so it is obviously a fault with the wireless rather than the phone.
The phone asks for the WEP password which I put in correctly, it then says "obtaining IP address" only to return with 'unsuccessful' or 'disconnected' - which may indicate that there is some security that is stopping the phone connecting?

I have 2 networks that I conenct to at my work. An open network and a secure one.
The open network, which has weak signal, I have no problem connecting to.
However, when I try to connect to the secure network, which i have great signal, I get "Disabled, secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK". I am positive I have the right password.
The strange part is I have had my Droid for less than 2 weeks. Before I had an Eris and would connect to that network everyday without any problems. But have never been able to connect with my Droid once I dont think anything has changed with that router, but i cant say for sure.
Any ideas as to why the Droid wont connect? Unfortunately, i dont have access to the routers settings. Unless I really had to, i can try to access it early in the morning

When I do that it switches off 3G (which is good) but then most of my apps don't seem to connect - eg Facebook, Market, GMail, etc... So are most apps not able to operate on Wifi alone? I need to go in to the wireless settings then in to the wifi settings menu itself, where I'll see my network "Not in range-remembered" for a second and then it'll connect itself. It wasn't like this a few days ago, and I don't think this happens at the 2 other wireless networks I frequent, I'll try and remember to check tomorrow when I drop off my son at the in-laws.
I deleted the network and added it back in, still no auto connect. I rebooted the phone and it connected once, then after I turned off wifi and turned it back on, it went back to needing a manual connect, which it really isn't even that. It just doesnt want to connect unless I go in to the wifi settings.
I'm trying to connect to an ad-hoc wifi network with WEP encryption made available by a Windows 7 laptop, which has an Intel 4965AGN NIC. The phone doesn't see the network, and adding it manually doesn't help either. Another laptop, running XP, sees and connects to the network just fine.

I'll be returning the Virgin Desire and just received the o2 Desire today.
Setting it up went well, accounts added etc. but I'm having trouble with the WiFi - I can't disable it, every time I do it switches itself back on - I'm assuming that's something to do with the o2 firmware and it wouldn't be a big deal if the WiFi worked properly
I set it to install all my apps, but wouldn't over Wifi, only over 3G, I can't browse the internet or check for software updates in settings... I've got 2 email accounts set up - Gmail & Exchange (just as I did on the other handset), and it's just told me it can't sync to the Exchange server now though it seems to have been fine so far...
Yet I've just sent myself a test email over WiFi successfully - it appeared straight away in the webmail and then back on the handset, so some part of it's working...
