I am so worried about my battery, nothing is wrong with it i just worry a lot. I am afraid to use my phone outside when it's warm or hot because i am afraid that it'll damage my battery. Will warm or hot weather damage my battery? Should i worry about using it outside?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Evo battery was low, plugged in my charger and the notification led was flashing amber and red. powered off, still flashing, popped battery, and noticed to bottom half of the phone was really warm, put the battery back in, turned on the phone and plugged the charger back in and now its fine. checked my manual and didnt see anyhing like this.

View 18 Replies View RelatedThe thing they talked about the most was how GREAT the battery life is, well let me tell you. they are all a bunch of liars. Ive never had a phone with battery life as terrible as this thing. i've talked to a rep that told me "just gotta let it drain and then charge. do that a couple times and it should be fine" ok i figured that was all nonsense because she wanted me off the phone so i did that. Now did that work? no of course not. i take it off the charger and after 6 minutes and 23 seconds of use it drops down 10%, the back is pretty warm at all times. i've turned off the GPS, WIFI, and whatever else their is to turn off. Its insanely pathetic. Is anyone else having this problem, it seems like no matter what when you get a verizon phone its guaranteed to break or have a problem. I get through about 5 hours of very moderate use.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had been using IMEasy for its multiple-account capability, I found my phone running warm when multiple accounts were connected though, and the battery drained fast; down to 70% in 3 hours in a poor signal area. I thought it was the poor signal. Installed Trillian yesterday, it's connected to 3 IM accounts and after 5 hours I'm only down to 90%, in the same area. I've been a happy Trillian user on the PC, I already had an Astra account from that so setup was SIMPLE. I HIGHLY suggest this app, though it's still in Beta and it IS missing a couple options I would like they're not critical issues to me, and I'm sure they'll fix them.

I know this sounds like an ad but I'm just a happy customer.
The 2 missing items (maybe one really) are the ability to set the notification tone in the app and the ability to change the notification LED color in the app.
Ever since I got my Captivate, I've been charging the battery on and off, here and there, never completely, an hour or so at a time, whenever I noticed it running out. Then I read the manual, and it says there that the battery should be "completely" charged for 4 hours before first use.
Have I caused any damage to the battery? I thought with modern batteries we don't have such restrictions and problems as we did with the old batteries (battery memory, discharging once a month, etc).
Can I do any damage by just pulling the battery while the phone is on? With the number of times I have to change the battery to keep the phone going, its just easier than going through the effort to power down.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a window mount off ebay for my Inc and have been loving listening to Pandora and using the Navigation program while driving.
This weekend I drove a couple of hours back and forth to see a friend and both times I had issues with the amber notification light starting to blink. I had the phone plugged into the Verizon car charger. Could it be that the battery was getting too hot and this was the phones way of notifying me? I live in Florida so it would make sense that the phone was getting rather warm in the window mount.
Anybody else have this issue?
Can this cause any damage to the phone or the battery? Am I OK as long as I pull the phone down out of the heat whenever I notice this happening?
I have been having problems with my G2x's this is the 4th G2x I've had. My first one had a short, second one would randomly flash when I didnt even have the camera on and the screen would flicker like crazy, third one gave me the black screen of death were it was just all black and the phone would not work at all. The fourth one I have now is constantly shutting off on me all the time. I called T-mobile and told them that IDK what the problem is... I don't DL anything crazy and I really love the G2x when it works could it possibly be the battery because that is the only thing that is the same with the phones. So they are sending me out a new battery. Fast forward four days battery still isn't here and I am having the same problems and occasionally have to take out the battery and put it back in so the phone will power on. This morning I noticed my phone did not charge at all. So I pull off the back and what do I see under the battery and small amount of moisture and the white water damage indicator is now RED!
My phone has never been in water or near water or in the rain hasnt even rained for weeks and weeks now. The thing is if it truly got wet wouldn't the white water damage indicator on the battery be red too? Because that one is still white. I called T-mobile and asked them and they said I would have to do an insurance exchange. I told them I am not trying to exchange the phone, but when my new battery comes in and if it doesnt solve the turning off problem I don't want to have to pay for a new phone when I never got my phone wet. The lady said well maybe when it gets humid but IDK. You will have to do an insurance exchange which is 130 for a phone I did not get wet. Experience this and never got there phone wet. Are there anymore indicators on the phone that would show maybe it didnt get wet like can I ask them to open the phone so they know I am not lying. I am getting sick of dealing with T-mobile now. I always have to fight with them about my rebates, getting phone replaced, bogus charges, ect... Now water damage for non-water damage phone.
I want to know that how to protect rooted phone from any hardware damage due to overheating etc
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a very big problem with my samsung galaxy nexus. It started 2 weeks ago when I tried to turn ON my phone, and it randomly can't Load the system (Jelly Bean 4.2.2). When I try to Turn it ON, the Nexus Picture stock up (the green red blue yellow moving image suddenly stop) and then a MATRIX like will appear on the screen (sometimes around the nexus image there will be green lines and dots. And sometimes the whole screen will have green pixels/Dots). I thought that the system is damaged, after many trials of recovering the system, I Decided to do a factory reformat/ return to factory settings.
Since I can't access the system, I unlocked the phone , installed teamwin recovery system, and did a wipe of all the things inside the internal memory (that was the most stupid decision ever) since I lost the backup system image inside the internal sd card.
I decided all of that all because that the Galaxy Nexus don't have a external SD CARD. And since I can't do a recovery of my files (because I need to be inside Android to have a DB connection to the phone). I had no option than to wipe all System, Dalvik, Cache, and Data. Now I can't flash any android system since the Clockwork and teamwin need the android image to be inside the SD CARD. And I can't send/receive any file from/to the SD card. I already tried "Nexus Root Toolkit" and "Galaxy Nexus Toolkit".
One good thing is I did install an "ICE CREAM SANDWICH image" using "Odin" (Since that was the only image I found in the internet that can be installed using Odin, but there is no luck also, when the animation is loading, the animation suddenly stop and the phone restarts.
Was doing fine until rain was coming, then battery dropped big time. Charged last night before bedtime, didn't use my phone all day and checked a little bit ago and was down to 50%. Normally I'd be at 80-90% under similar circumstances.
Here's the confusing part (Battery use):
42m 36s since unplugged.
Display: 67%
Cell standby: 26%
Phone idle: 8%
EDIT: BTW, this is LIVE weather.
i look in spare parts and i go under battery history and click on network usage and i see that the weather channel is taking up alot of battery. I dont have the weather channel widgit or just the icon on any of my home pages and i dont have any location for it. Why is it still taking up so much battery?Also is there a way to change the update time with it?

Just sitting here browsing and can feel this heat commin from the left side. It's comming from the base of the charger. The cable is also warm about a 1/4 way up. I'm sure charging and using it comsumes a bit of power.The battery is probably only 25% charged and I'm quite certain in stops charging once full. Maybe its normal but seems excessive to me.

Since it gave me the option of using Kings #11 CFS, I gave it a shot but it caused screen tearing all over the place. I re-flashed with just the Rom itself and its been working great, but the kernel is still the stock HTC #11.Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't TpT supposed to come with a custom kernel from Adrynalyne(from what I gathered by reading on other forum posts)?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn my short rooting history, I have settled on using Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo ROM. I love nearly everything about the ROM with one exception. You may have noticed that when you zoom in on text (this forum, for instance), the words do not wrap the way they do on the stock ROM. This means unnecessary horizontal scrolling. The typical fix is to flash the stock fonts, but those are boring. The look of Myn's is part of the appeal, right? Good news.You can flash any of the font packs located in this thread to restore the proper word wrap function.From what I have found, the Liberations Sans font is close to what comes with Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo.Hopefully someone finds this as beneficial as I have. If this is common knowledge, I apologize and will remove the thread.

Takes about half a second to realize I'm trying scroll, then it will start flying down the page when I'm slowly moving. Worthless in my opinion.I'm going to give it another day and see if it fixes itself, then I'm going to flash a new kernel.So my question is: What are the best kernels in your experiences for Myn's Warm 2.2? It is not super hot (maybe 39C) but it does make it a little uncomfortable to hold against my ear, face or just hand. Am I the only one? Any idea about the cause?ETA it does not get nearly this warm when I am using the data, surfing the web, etc.

I could be overly sensitive because from way back when the white 3gs was showing burn marks on the back.It doesn't feel so hot that it's burning my skin but I can't imagine it's good for the phone to get warm like this.
