View 3 RepliesI have a Samsung Moment, and the battery life is horrible. I always have problems with my battery running out before the day is over. That being said, my friend and I are in an engineering class and are working on a solution to the battery life issue. We have a survey we created and we really need some more results on it. We'd really appreciate it if some people would take it. Here is the link: Small Electronics and Battery Life Survey.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs anybody else noticing a huge decline in battery life after going from 1.0.1 to 3.1.01??? Saw another post that blamed it on the new FB app (which did seem to drain dramatically), so I uninstalled it and still doesn't improve battery life all that much. I don't have active sync on or anything, so I assume it's either the ROM or Froyo?
View 15 Replies View RelatedAnyone else seeing worse battery life after going to froyo? I now get about 12 hours on limited use (a few texts and maybe a couple phone calls). Prior to the froyo rom (fresh 3.1.x), I was getting about 20+ hours on moderate use (also a fresh rom). I've made sure that google talk isn't running and the awake time isn't an issue. I currently have setcpu running without any profiles active and set it to conservative--no overclocking. My current setup is fresh 3.1.2 rom with Kingxkernel #3.

I just rooted last night and today my battery life has been horrible. It has been mostly idle for the entire day (since 6am, that's when i woke up) and yet it is now under 20% (at 5pm). Anyone have similar issues? Before it would last at least 20 hours...
View 7 Replies View RelatedAll Access, however really hating the battery drain I am getting with the updated app. My battery drain problems started immediately after updating from the pre-All Access version which I never had trouble with. Now it hogs all my battery. Even overnight when I'm sleeping, and the app is not be used and fully exited using the back button, I am getting a loss of 10% battery life per hour. Actually using my phone is even worse. In fact it's rather unusable at this rate of drain. In about 45 minutes of GPMAA use, it lost 25% battery life!
Unchecking the Google Music sync from their account section in settings. I did that, but still getting horrible battery life. Short of uninstalling this app, and losing a service I am really starting to like, what can I do?
What's working for me is to recharge the phone with the computer cable. I was able to get a full day plus by doing this. For some unknown reason samsung didn't make is simple using the regular power cable.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi look in spare parts and i go under battery history and click on network usage and i see that the weather channel is taking up alot of battery. I dont have the weather channel widgit or just the icon on any of my home pages and i dont have any location for it. Why is it still taking up so much battery? Also is there a way to change the update time with it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed a decrease in battery life since doing the upgrade? My battery dies in the middle of the day everyday now and i barely use it during the day when I am at work?
View 32 Replies View RelatedWill the 2.1 update improve battery life?
View 6 Replies View RelatedThis is an issue that Sprint/Samsung are currently working on. That is all I know. Sorry if this has already been posted and you are aware of the current situation. Battery life should be adequate for the phone/use ratio regardless.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am a complete noob at this stuff and was planning on using my samsung moment with stock android 2.1 but..........the battery life sucks. I'll be lucky if i get through a day with only two phone calls and a couple of texts. I was reading on these forums about how rooting can increase battery life on the moment, but how? can someone explain to me how? Oh and if i wanted to root my moment, would this be the easiest way? http://sdx-downloads.com/custom/
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Wife's phone is a Samsung Moment with 2.1 and Out of Nowhere, the battery life went to hell. She usually would get a day or two no prob out of the battery with call it mild use. NOW she can have a dead battery by dinner on a full charge at 6am. This started happening within the last couple of weeks, call it since 10/15/10. Anyone have any ideas what's going on? She hasn't downloaded any new apps or changed any settings.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to change how often the device updates my email? I had a sprint Hero and switched to the moment (very good decision), and I changed it on the Hero to improve battery life.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a moment in the beginning and took it back, got a hero had massive problems and finally got my hero replaced with another moment that was brand new.I just got it like 2-3 days ago and its having the same issues that i had on 1.5 when i had it the first time.I had it replaced when i had it the first time and same issue.I have 2.1 now and the battery life is still horrible like dropping not long after taking it off the charger without using it but biggest problem is that the phone will tell me i have no service and it will have an x up above where the bars should be and i have to remove the battery and put it back in before it will work again. The data does the same thing and i can turn the phone off and back on for that and it will work again.Does this happen to anyone else??Its very frustrating!!Also the wifi wont connect. It just says it is unable to connect but it was just working and my laptop works wirelessly so i know that its not my router or anything with my connection.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSounds like the Eris has a feature to disable 3G, which saves tons of battery life. Anybody know if the Incredible will have the same feature? Seems to involve disabling a "mobile network" setting:

How do yo show things like battery life, weather, etc on the locked screen? I have seen people with screens set up like this, but I'm not sure what they have done.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am currently on a new client where it's constantly on 1X and occasionally switches back to 3G with 0 bars, then back to 1X. I got in to work at 8:30 am and by 5:00 the battery was at 30%. Battery Manager shows Cell Standby as 21% of the battery usage. I had about a 15 minute call this morning (presumably on 1X, I didn't check) and have not used the Internet at all for the rest of the day. This is obviously unacceptable. On my Droid Eris, there was a way to turn off the Mobile Network and use only 2G/1X for calls. I have researched and not found a similar option for the Droid X (Why would Motorola leave this out?) Does anyone know what my options are? I've heard you can go into the #*#*INFO*#*# menu and set it to 2G only, then restart, but that would be a pain to do every morning.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI used to have the free version of Weather Bug downloaded but recently decided to give the Weather Channel app a try since it has animated radar. Maybe it's just my imagination but ever since I started using the Weather Channel app it seems like my battery doesn't last as long. Does anyone know if it uses more battery juice than Weather Bug? I was going to download Weather Bug again to compare the two but I can't seem to find the free version any more.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI really like the layout and design of the Beautiul widgets home weather but the weather is off by like 10 degrees now for some unknown reason. When i first was using it it was accurate. So I installed weatherbug elite and i like it in combination with a clock widget buuuuuttttt for some reason no matter what i do in the settings it doesent always update its self ON THE WIDGET unless i click on the widget and open the app. It does sometimes but not always.
Anyways what is everybodys favorite? Is there anything comparible to Beautiful Widgets weather but with accurate temp and forecast?
Does setcpu speed up the Moment at all or is its only real use for downclocking to save battery?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was looking for a good weather app/widget with a clock.
View 25 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a widget that would do weather like my old HTC Touch Pro did. For example, when it is raining, when it updates, you get a windshield wiper for a second or two. I just liked the look of this and was wondering if this is out there. I have weather widget right now.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAny way of disabling the data on the moment to save battery?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had the Moment for about 1 1/2 months. At times, it seems as though the joystick is "stuck" - it moves the cursor all around (sort of like the center mouse on a laptop). Sometimes it will move around the screen, move from one screen to another, move the cursor when typing, etc... It makes the phone unusable. I've looked in a bunch of forums and haven't seen anyone else complain. I normally have to remove the battery and boot it back up and everything starts to work again. I had a zag on it, but removed it thinking it might be the problem (it wasn't). The Sprint store was zero help (it didn't happen while there). Is there a way to disable the joystick? I'm tempted to just take the phone apart and remove it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone know how to disable SMS threading on the Moment? I was able to do it via registry tom-foolery on my last phone (Palm Treo Pro), but I don't know where to start on this Android phone. I like having each SMS be its own little thing, not a string of SMS's.

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust downloaded Tunewiki - not for the lyrics/content, but because the interface and widget are really slick.
Problem I'm having is that the default music player app likes to compete with it. When I use Bluetooth (Ford Sync) the music player app likes to start automatically.
Anyone know how to tell it to ignore the music app? I know it can't be deleted.
When I am at school I can barely get a signal. I constantly get notifications for going in and out of service and it's MURDERING my battery! So I was wondering if anyone knows how to completely disable my cellphone usage WITHOUT disabling wifi?
