I've been building CM7 from original source so which files control what's displayed in the power menu? There are just so many files it's going to take a very long time to work out which ones I need to modify.
I'm trying but not work on stock rom, how to do it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an original Nexus 7 running Android 4.3. I just learned about the "Take bug report" and "Power menu bug report" method to capture screen shots and logs. Unfortunately, they don't seem to work for me.
I'm logged on with my normal Google account. When I use either method, I get the "Take bug report" popup. When I tap on Report, the popup goes away and then nothing happens - no email - nothing. I've seen a couple of other reports of this happening.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to develop a peripheral device to connect to an android phone via USB OTG. The OTG specs [1] says: "A Targeted Host shall provide sufficient power to each peripheral on its TPL in at least one supported configuration".
Where do I find those TPL ("Targeted Peripheral List") lists? I searched at Sony Ericsson (because I have a Xperia Mini) and Samsung (as a different manufacturer) but with no luck. Is this an android related list?
On github I found a code fragement [2] from DooMLoRD. It mentions a OTG whitelist. But it seems to be something like a skeleton.
I do this research because I want to use the peripheral device in high power mode with about 300 mA. I thought I could compare the TPL with devices that also need 300 mA.

Phone - HTC Hero, Android 2,1
It will not go to sleep mode when pressing the end/power key. But it still takes phone OUT of sleep mode, but now I have to wait for the screen timeout instead of pressing the button again.
I tried to find answer to my question, but i failed... I tried Reboot, Spare Parts - i don't know if it worked properly, Hard reset, but the power button still not working properly.
Sometimes when i power on my phone (from sleep mode), i get this notification. How to block or remove this thing?
View 5 Replies View Relatedmy galaxy s2,it is rooted, and i have another problem : the phone restarts by itself and gets stucked in the boot loop, i never flashed a new rom ,it is running the stock rom,Someday i needed to factory reset the phone so i rebooted into recovery mode (power + home button +vol up) ,. I booted into recovery mode but the power button does NOT react as 'select' button although it works just fine for power on and off. I select a function and press [power] an the first line becomes the selected. pushing it again just flashed the screen. But pressing it long turns the phone off,and even after the factory reset from phone directly(with out going to recovery mode)

If someone steals my phone they will be able to shut it off without unlocking it since holding down power button still works. So is there a way to lock the power button from shutting off phone when the phone is in pattern unlock mode?
Is it possible to reboot an Android smartphone as a non-smartphone(Like a Nokia 1100) ? Just enable only services to make phone calls and everything else remain disabled(Slow down the CPU to the lowest clock speeds, lower bit depth, turn off all on-board electronics other than those necessary etc). Motivation is to save power. In my phone most of the power is consumed by Android OS (and not screen). I was wondering if I had a mode like that I could keep the phone alive in case I can't charge the phone immediately, by switching into this power saving mode.

Do you know the menu which appears when you press the lock button(i think its called power menu), is there a way of changing what icons appear there?
Can the tiles also in quick settings panel be changed?
Finally, if you press the middle button you see the google logo to laung google search, can that be changed to show other apps?
I saw an Android tip that said "Use the power button to end a call", but it needed to be turned on in the Accessibility menu. When I got to Settings->Accessibility, it is grayed out and it says "Downloaded accessibility application is required to activate". What app do I need to download to enable this accessibility setting?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAt first when I used my phone. I would click on Internet, Browse to a web page, and if left my phone alone for a few minutes it would go to power save mode, and I would have to unlock the screen to keep browsing on the same internet page I was on. Now when it powers down, and I go back to it, it always defaults to my home page, and I have to browse back to the page I was just one. I have been looking for a setting to undo this, as its driving me crazy, but I haven't been able to find a way to change this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHere are a few tips with the Fascinate camera:
1. You can access Panorama mode from the Scene menu in the top left. With Panorama mode... you will be guided by a green box, when you get close to take the next snapshot, move very slowly... especially when the green box is almost centered on your screen. This will produce better pictures with less blur.
2. Turn on Anti-shake and Auto-contrast in the settings menu. Turn on Grid if you'd like extra help with taking better photos.
3. Long press the shutter button to auto focus before taking the photo. It's a two-stage button that will take a little bit to auto focus, but it's better than not doing it before taking a photo.
there are those of us, who due to whatever reason (helmet cams, preference for posture, etc) want to record videos in portrait mode.
What happens (on my sgs2) is that the video records just fine in whatever resolution I pick... but it records it 90 degrees rotated to the right.
The solution that is usually offered is that "you can rotate it after!" yes... but then you have to CROP part of the image and lower the resolution. 1920 x 1080 recordings end up having to be cropped so that half of the view is cut out , or even more if you are maintaining a real aspect ratio.
The questions about "why not just hold it sideways", are just as pointless as the statement by steve jobs telling iphone4 users that they were holding their phones wrong.
is this something that can be remedied ? or has google decided that people should only record videos when their phones are in landscape mode?
i understand that we cant see landscape resolution in portrait mode; but can't we just have a viewport into the camera, but record in properly oriented landscape mode? so that playback on a computer will show the full resolution, even though we will only see part of it on the phone..
