General :: System Sound Samsung Galaxy S2 T989 - Adjusting Volume?
Jul 21, 2012
I have a samsun galaxy s2 t989 from t mobile, and i have a aquestion, how I can adjust the volume. I enter the options menu sound system and upload volume but low volume listening. I saw on the internet a key * # 197328640 # I can get but I can not change the speaker says the value of 53, this would be the reason why I listen to low.

I recently just flashed my Samsung galaxy s2 t989 (tmobile) to ICS from the ported version. Now I'm wondering about custom Rom from this website.
1. Can I use any custom rom? Or does it have to be for my specific phone?
2. All galaxy s2 custom rom threads say it for samsung galaxy s2 but doesn't it matter if im using a samsung galaxy s2 t989? Just it just have to be the general device?
3. Could I have a link to where they post custom rom for my device?

I have messed up big time! I rooted my phone perfectly fine and everything. But when I tried to install a new ICS rom and rebooted, my phone showed the samsung logo followed by a screeching frequency noise, followed by a restart. This process continues forever. I really hope I didn't break my phone.. I can access the CWM btw.

I am on the Samsung Galaxy SII T989 (T-mobile) and I am on Jellybean 4.1.2. I enjoy the stock messaging app because it is simple and I assume resource friendly (I like efficiency in my electronics), but I'm having a hard time making a custom message notification when I receive a text message that is forwarded from my gmail using phone[url]... It shows up as just *myemail*[url]... so when I add as a contact it adds the email and I have the option to customize the tones for messaging but it doesn't work, I assume because there is no phone #. I even tried to find the number that is used to forward an email through sms and all I got from t-mobile was 500, which didn't work either.
I know that non-stock messaging apps like go sms and handcent are capable of doing this easily but I'm weary of moving from stock due to other messaging apps possibly using more resources, but any other apps . get a notification using stock. What I also like about stock messaging btw is the feature where if you get a text message a circle with a message icon appears on your screen and you can just swipe that to unlock and go directly to your thread with that person, if there were other good apps that did that and the notification that would be great.

I did a search but did not find a specific answer to my question:Is there an app/widget to toggle the media volume from mute to ON? Or some other shortcut method to adjust the volume and/or mute the media volume without having to first play media?Another thread said that there was an app for it but it did not state the name and I could not find it on the market.

I did the OTA upgrade to 2.1 last week, and noticed that the "click" when typing on the keyboard is really loud now.I notice this mostly when texting, which I do at work, and now it's so loud that everyone around me can hear. So, the question is how to adjust the volume for text input? I can't for the life of me figure out where this setting is. I have looked through all the menus but I guess there is one that I havent found. I also looked in the Handcent app menu and there's nothing in there. Also no adjustment in the standard text program either.

An app or mod that will use the microphone to sense the amount of noise around you and adjust the notifications accordingly - that is to say when its quiet, next to my bed and I am sleeping I want it to be all quiet sounds - but when I am working and there is fan noises and other stuff that is louder then normal I want the notifications to be loud - but if I walk into the break room which is quiet I want it to be quiet again - or if I am listening to music in a room or car turn up the notifications so I can here them and back down when not. You know take a sound reading and turn up or down the volume of the notification that is happening at that given time.
Only problem being when its in your pocket it will always seem to be quieter then normal so they will be quiet also, so there would need to be something to listen to the sound and determine if its being muffled by a pocket or whatever and turn it up then - if playing a sound and analysing that sound it should be able to determine what environment the phone is in, like a pocket or bag that will make it quieter. I am not even sure if i am describing this properly but I know someone can probably figure it out, but it might have to be something the manufacturer does, like that phone that has 2 microphones to auto cancel out background noises like a bluetooth headset.

Phone: UK Galaxy S Issue: Recovery boot error message in red writing
Multicsc : can not access to / system/csc/VOD/system/
Background: I have been trying to root my phone from information found in a youtube video. All went well and the little ninja bloke with the sniper rifle was in the app list. Tried installing busybox and was told that the phone was not rooted..
I think I ran the root application again and at some point I started getting this error message when in recovery. I have since run the one click root method to unroot the phone and the little nija dude is no longer there. Since I rooted the phone it will no longer connect to my wireless network, it finds the network and attempts to obtain an ip address. After a few min it times out and tries again. When I load the phone recovery the error message is still present.

I always keep my system volume turned all the way down. I don't know why anyone would want their phone to make obnoxious sounds when turning off. When do most people turn their phones off? Church, movies, meetings, basically anytime you want it to be QUIET. Anyway, I digress.
Something keeps turning up my system volume. Often when my phone shuts down due to low battery I hear the stupid shutdown sound. I think it may also have happened a few times when powering the phone off manually. I am rooted and I know I could rename the files, but I am getting tired of working around the bugs on this thing and having to keep track of all the files I rename. I try to keep it as "stock" as possible.
Any ideas on what might be turning my system volume up?

I have a very big problem with my samsung galaxy nexus. It started 2 weeks ago when I tried to turn ON my phone, and it randomly can't Load the system (Jelly Bean 4.2.2). When I try to Turn it ON, the Nexus Picture stock up (the green red blue yellow moving image suddenly stop) and then a MATRIX like will appear on the screen (sometimes around the nexus image there will be green lines and dots. And sometimes the whole screen will have green pixels/Dots). I thought that the system is damaged, after many trials of recovering the system, I Decided to do a factory reformat/ return to factory settings.
Since I can't access the system, I unlocked the phone , installed teamwin recovery system, and did a wipe of all the things inside the internal memory (that was the most stupid decision ever) since I lost the backup system image inside the internal sd card.
I decided all of that all because that the Galaxy Nexus don't have a external SD CARD. And since I can't do a recovery of my files (because I need to be inside Android to have a DB connection to the phone). I had no option than to wipe all System, Dalvik, Cache, and Data. Now I can't flash any android system since the Clockwork and teamwin need the android image to be inside the SD CARD. And I can't send/receive any file from/to the SD card. I already tried "Nexus Root Toolkit" and "Galaxy Nexus Toolkit".
One good thing is I did install an "ICE CREAM SANDWICH image" using "Odin" (Since that was the only image I found in the internet that can be installed using Odin, but there is no luck also, when the animation is loading, the animation suddenly stop and the phone restarts.

When connecting my Galaxy-S to the Samsung Kies software, my telephone shows up with an incorrect telephone number. I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted. How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number? In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown. When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. So the issue is not operator related but telephone related.

My volume buttons seem loose. Is that normal you think? Perhaps its a petty thing to think about, but play (I can hear them rattle a bit if I shake the phone gently) in my experience leads to quick wear.

I was wondering where the volume sound effects are. What I mean is when you go into settings --> sound-->volume ,and then change the volume, there is a sound that plays for each one. When I change the media volume there is a song that plays that I like. So where is the file stored. I am rooted and have a samsung phone.

I have trouble to porting sound system from htc-DHD to htc-Evo 3D device
both devices use ICS 4.0.4 cook rom
I found that the music sound on DHD much better than in Evo 3D, especially the sound enhancers has more options
This is DHD sound enhancer
This is Evo 3D sound enhancer
The appearance is no matter because it is related to htcSoundEnhancerSetting.apk file. But I need the true working sound libs files that related to the htcSoundEnhancerSetting.apk
I so much love the htc 5.1 surround sound option. So, I want to port sound system libs from DHD to Evo 3D to attemp test. But I don't know which files are need to copy. Some hint to port the sound system from DHD to Evo 3D.

I've just upgrade my S2 from andriod 2.3ish to 4.1.2. Before doing so I changed the default system sound to that droplet sound (in the normal settings view, no root, nothing special with this phone) but now I've upgraded the 'normal' setting to change 'system sound' has gone. Have they really just scrapped that option?
