General :: Creating App Which Require Root Access
Nov 13, 2012creating an app which requires root access.Purpose of this app
1) Able to access a file in root/data/data/*APP XYZ*/*THIS FILE*
2) Generate a random string of number
3) Replace the specific string in *THIS FILE* with the randomly generated number
4) Saves *This File*
Right now I can do it manually but it is rather tedious. Was thinking if it would be possible to create an app to do this automatically with one click.

Sep 21, 2012I'm looking for a screen capture app that lets me record my gameplay off my Android. I have tried Screencast PRO , but I don't get no video after I open the game I am trying to record or it lags up bad , audio isn't synced correctly , and pieces of the notification bar are included in the video . I'm using the Droid Razr running on AOKP ICS 4.0.4 Rooted.

Jun 23, 2013I am looking for a free and easy way to record my screen on my Galaxy S3. I looked in Google Play and found a couple good apps, but all of them required root. The others that didn't were really crappy.
When I googled it, I only found results for iPhone and older versions of android, I have android 4.1.1 jelly bean.
Is there any way to do this without spending any money and not rooting?

To be a bit more specific, I am looking for a screen-recording solution so that I can get a video of the user's interaction with the app interface. Connecting the phone to any device such as a computer to do the recording is not an option.
Here is a sample gif that I created using a Mac screen recorder to record the iOS simulator interface. It gives a rough idea of what I would like to achieve on Android, except for the fact that I would like the same to be from the actual phone (not the emulator) and without having to connect the phone to a computer or any other device.

Jan 15, 2013I've got the Screencast Video Recorder app on my Nexus 7 but when I finish recording anything, the only result I get is a video, of accurate length, full of a pale static image. None of what I've recorded can be seen at all.
When I had this app installed on my Samsung Galaxy S2 it worked perfectly. Now I have it on my N7 and it doesn't work so I'm thinking that it could be a tablet compatibility type issue, even though I'm able to install and open the app fine.
As is shown in my sig, my Nexus 7 is stock rooted, so it's not as if a custom ROM is causing the problem.
