Right now I can do it manually but it is rather tedious. Was thinking if it would be possible to create an app to do this automatically with one click.

Sep 3, 2012My huawei mercury wont open any applications that require root access. When i tap on the app the. screen is black and it doesn't open so i have to tap the home button to exit and sometimes my phone restarts. And I don't have the stock rom I switched it. M886

Aug 29, 2010I feel really dumb just asking this, but I don't want to wipe anything and I don't want a separate radio install. I'd like to get root, do s-off, and do one ROM flash or whatever that updates me to 2.2 and let's me get on with my life.
Someone linked to a ROM that said it was based on the real ota 2.2, but that doesn't make sense to me if you have to update your radio first and wipe your phone, when the ota doesn't require that.
Should I just try to flash without backing up stuff and wiping and hope for the best? I think I have a phobia of some sort here involving stuff with more than 3 or 4 steps.

Yes I did a "root" search on the market, and I am so ignorant I don't know what the apps are for or capable of.I already know root explorer is a must, other than that I have nothing.

It seems as though none of the Apps that require root are working properly.

May 9, 2014What I need is a way to control Android device (s) from PC via Wi-Fi. I found a lot of apps (and Desktop programs) to do it, but I didn't found a way to View OR control the Android device WITHOUT ROOT. I work on the company which asked me to find a way to do this without root with their Android devices. After googling a lot I started to think that where is no way to do this, because either way I need to root them . Is it true or maybe there is somewhere an app which could do this? It doesn't care if it's paid or not.
I have downloaded and tester these apps:
MyMobiler - Doesn't work because when I restart Android device, app doesn't start WiFi, just keyboard mode only. I need that when the app starts it should run itself and start WiFi automatically.
VMLite VNC Server - Don't know why but it didn't worked for me. Just cannot start server from the browser.
Samsung Captivate : Captivate Doesn't Require Data Plan ATT?
Aug 9, 2010I was looking at my upgrade options and total pricing with regard to the Captivate. When I added the phone as an upgrade, not only did it not make me choose a data plan, it didn't even give me a choice to pick a data plan (at the moment I have just minutes and texts). Is this an error on the ATT system or you can get the phone and the data plan is only set up once you use the phone?
Because what I am thinking is upgrading 2 lines on my family plan - my line with an iPhone which requires data when you purchase the phone, and the Samsung on the line that will not get Data. I will only use one phone (the Samsung on my line) and sell the iPhone brand new in box. Will that work or will ATT realize when I only have one phone in use on my plan even though I 'upgraded/renewed' two lines?

May 20, 2013I just downloaded CM7.2 on my Galaxy551, using this thread URL....The phone has root, but it gives root access to everything without superuser prompting.I tried to update the su binary but it stops at "Making sure new su works". It just freezes there.

Aug 7, 2009I was trying to set a progress bar to View.INVISIBLE or View.GONE, or View.VISIBLE inside an AppWidgetProvider. However, it doesn't seem to want to do it. Setting visibility works fine with TextView fields or ImageView fields or ImageButtons. However, ProgressBar doesn't seem to work. It doesn't make sense that just the progress bar type isn't supported for controlling visibility. Has anyone else seen this problem?

Aug 4, 2010Tasker does not seem to function unless I use the motorola control panel and turn on bluetooth, wifi, and gps. If I shut these off via the control panel then tasker does not turn them on at the appointed times and events.Which begs the question, is tasker REALLY turning them off? or are the icons just going away in the notification bar (because they still show as on in the control panel widget)Has anyone else noticed this issue?

I want to installs all the apps out there but i realise many of them require permissions that (i think) are not actually needed by the app to do whatever it needs to do..
For example i want to install power toggles it asks to use my camera... cant the flashlight be turned on without allowing the camera to be used?
Anyways, i realise that apps that sometimes do the exact same things require different permissions, hence... ?
So main question is: is the permission to use the camera really required by an app that turns on the led?

Jul 31, 2010I plug phone in. I run the simple root, and click root. It puts my phone into the while skating android screen. It looks for updates, but doesnt prompt me to download one. and it doesnt ask me to reboot. It isnt rooting my phone.
