I have a samsung Galaxy S3 with Android version 4.1.2.
I commute between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland (UK) every week so my phone goes to roaming settings. I am on the Three network down south and so long as my phone connects to Three (UK) when it roams i dont get charged a cent. Sometimes it likes to jump to O2 or other networks and it is costing me a lot of money. Is there a way to fix the network its allowed to connect to without turning off the "roaming" setting?

Bluetooth seems to work ok because I can pair with the Parrot CK3100, but I have a ELM327 bluetooth diagnostics interface than I can not find when I search bluetooth devices with this smarthphone.The ELM327 is working fine with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and android 3.1, as with 2 pc's I tried with windows XP.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe wifi on my phone Samsung Galaxy Chat will not turn on all of a sudden. Same is the issue with Bluetooth.
The wifi button in the drop down screen is kind of greyed out and when settings is opened the [off-on] is greyed out. In wifi settings it just says "turning on...".
All firmware up to date. Phone isnt damaged or dropped. I have restarted the phone many times and also performed factory reset twice and cleared the cache too.
I noticed something is wrong with my phone. when i enter the browser after switching from 3G to wifi, the screen will flicker... anyone know any fix for this? or the reason the screen flickers?

I tried to use beutiful widgets or some other widgets but my processing power gets high (also battery usage) and force close messages are make me nuts.
But then I thing it must related to ram issues (after copilot usage) becouse we have limitted ram.. my firend have a hero and she uses copilot faster like google maps...
So I installed root required memory programs like autokiller & minfreemanager.. and readjust memory values...

When I make this changes my app launcher and other programs works faster than before and the transitions are better much better than before and less force closes...
I write it becouse I am very happy now... & just kind of information for the pros ...
Also I found problems ( no widgets or apps running behind) looking from System pannel monitoring is off
- Auto Brightness option doesn't work after restart (stays same)
- when Orientation option is selected the battery consumption is more or much more (maybe calculation)
- when the Bluetooth wifi and gps options are seleceted (means open) battery consuption or calculation is less than close...
- Bluetooth stereo has problems... buttons play pause not working stable
- Wifi doesn't connect after disconnected for a while... (screen policy set to when screen turns off)
Also advanced launcher is buggy ..
if drakaz can install adw launcher .... I am very happy ( also we can able to update it from market) becouse if i use it or other launchers dial pad contact list comes later or take time...
Android keybord don't have Turkish characters like Ş,Ğ, I, ş, ğ, ı if it's possible it is very good for us to have...
I have a galaxy s4 mini and since this morning it won't connect to the network (I am with three - they have checked there are not signal problems in my area) AND I can't connect to my wireless (definitely working as I am using my iPad to write this.
So when I go to switch the wireless on, on the phone, it flicks itself back off again and doesn't even go green like it normally does.
I don't know if either of the following two things would have affected this or not:
1) my phone downloaded some Samsung update yesterday (via 3G, don't know if it completed though). Phone says its using android version 4.2.2 - is that relevant?
2) got my phone on to the wireless system lat night (because of MAC address filtering) but it was working fine last night.
Anyway I have tried all the standard things - switching my phone on and off, taking the SIM card out etc but still no network and no wireless.
i left iPhone to enter the android world via the Galaxy note....well, what to say, great change, great device, nice system....
so i decided: i switch to the best, meaning i go to install Paranoid Android....yes, i know there are a LOT of guides and infos everywhere about that, but, what i want to do is just simply applying step by step procedures and give a feed back to you all...what i will do is getting here all the infos related to the Galaxy Note Paranoid android rom and installation, making clear and easy how to do the switch, so any new android user like me could know exactly what to do....

I have had a Hero for three days, and it updated twice from the box to 2.1 update 1. Problem is that Bluetooth keeps switching itself on when I move between home screens, and when it wakes up. I have tried to switch it off through settings, but blink, and there it is again. I haven't even got round to pairing anything yet! Any ideas?

View 7 Replies View RelatedGalaxy S f/w 2.1. It doesn't find either of my bluetooth devices - headset and handsfree. My old phone worked fine on both of them.
I enable Bluetooth. The icon goes nice and green. The blue squiggly thing appears in the top bar.
I activate my VisorBlade hands-free device. It beeps and the right lights come on. But no glimmer of recognition from the Galaxy. I go to Settings > Wireless and Network > Bluetooth > Scan Devices. Nothing found.
I switch on my Plantronics Voyager 520 and it beeps and the right lights come on. Phone remains nonchalently aloof. Scan for devices. Nothing doing.
But. My PC finds the phone when I do the Make Device Visible thing.
I remember one of the sticking points last year for me, was the inherent problem in Android of Bluetooth support for Bluetooth Voice Dialling for true "hands free". Not to mention Bluetooth file transfer. I understand Android may still have a problem with Bluetooth voice dialing, or is this just problems with, I think it is, "Droid"?

I've been using the Wireless AP mode which works really well, but I think the bluetooth mode will use less power.I've been able to pair the phone with my macbook, but I'm not sure what settings it needs on both sides. On the phone I'm assuming just enabling bluetooth is enough for it to be a modem, but on the macbook I need to fill out:username, password, apn and cid. I'm not sure where to find this info.Please god tell me I don't have to call Bell to get it.

I can make and receive calls faultlessly , but definately have to be able to access my contacts hands free. every time i try to re-pair it it offers an option to share contacts, but does not work once paired .Can anyone more technically savvy than myself offer any ideas / help , unless i can get this to work the phone will have to go back

Everything is connected and I have had no problem sending files from the computer the phone, but everytime I try to send from the phone to the computer it says "unable to connect to remote device"anyone have any suggestions? this happens with pictures, videos and music files. Just taken delivery of a UK edition Samsung Galaxy S. Connecting it to my car audio via bluetooth no problems but it drops the 3G/H network connection as soon as it connects to the car. Disconnect the Bluetooth and I get the data connection back. Is this deliberate or a bug? It means I can't receive emails etc whilst in my car unless I turn off Bluetooth.

For receiving and making calls it worked fine with the audio coming out through the car's speakers. But if I play music or my navigation the audio is coming out through the phones speaker (the one on the back) rather than through the cars speakers. I don't know what setting I've got wrong.

However, Samsung Galaxy S's bluetooth doesn't seem to be able to recognize this. i.e., Galaxy S doesn't have a network profile, due to which it always connects to my Laptop for headset service. so sim1/sim2 on/off is fine. (I don't want to keep ejecting sims and loosing one.)
I noticed a lot of these dual sim phones are only 3G in slot1 but not slot2 i.e. "Samsung Grand Duos GT-I9082". HTC/Sony/LG dual sim phones.
I know "Samsung Core Duos GT-I8260" can select 3G in slot 1/2
So how about the "Samsung Wins/Grand Quattro GT- I8552"?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if anyone else has seen this issue. I have some Altec Lansing Backbeat (903) bluetooth headphones that I use with my Galaxy S. Very nice, decent quality, signal doesn't drop much, etc. Generally very pleased. My phone is however now being a pain with them....
Previously turning the headphones on, with the bluetooth already enabled would cause them to connect automatically. If i didn't have bluetooth turned on i'd have to manually connect from the bluetooth settings once I had enabled it. So far so good.
About a week ago my phone started 'forgetting' the headphones. This means almost every time I want to use them I have to pair them again. A huge pain. Even when the phone hasn't forgotten them they don't connect automagically, meaning I still end up in the settings menu. Any thoughts?
