I have had a Hero for three days, and it updated twice from the box to 2.1 update 1. Problem is that Bluetooth keeps switching itself on when I move between home screens, and when it wakes up. I have tried to switch it off through settings, but blink, and there it is again. I haven't even got round to pairing anything yet! Any ideas?

Is there any way to turn the bluetooth option on the caller id screen to automatically toggle the bluetooth function on vs rushing to home screen toggle?
I'm often on the road at work or just have my hands full and it is such a drain running bt all day. Is there anything close to what I'm asking available or possible?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI went to do a bluetooth file transfer today from my laptop to my Incredible and I couldn't get it to go through. Now whenever i restart my phone the bluetooth is on and it will not turn off. I can tell it to turn off and the options dim out but when i looked at my battery usage 3 hours later it showed my bluetooth using 23% of my battery and I never use bluetooth! Does anybody have any info on how to fix this?? I checked a few other topics on it and people say even doing a hard reset doesn't fix it...

View 7 Replies View RelatedIt's time for my family to get new phones, and I like the price of Sprint's Everything Data Family plan. I've been playing around with a friend's Hero and I really like what I've seen so far. I do have a few questions about it though.Is the Hero still worth it? I know it's a fairly old phone, so how does it stack up to the newer Android phones on the market? I'm already ruling out the EVO because I just can't get on board with its size. It just seems a bit gaudy for me.I'm too frugal to buy a phone before I'm eligible for an upgrade. And I've read at a few places that the Hero is pretty close to being obsolete (not getting an official 2.2 upgrade). So would it be wise to buy the Hero with a new contract, knowing I'd have to be with it for the next 2 years. I don't know anything about rooting or modifying phones. How does that work? Would rooting and installing custom ROMs delay the phone's obsolescence?I guess my main concern is that I don't want to commit to a phone that may not hold up over the next few years.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI was cleaning all the crap off my phone I don't use anymore and I believe I accidently removed the bluetooth software that allows it to connect to stereo bluetooth headsets. I can control the player with the headset, I can make phone calls from it, but when I try to play music there is no sound.
I was trying to reset the phone using RUU, but it reboots the phone and then says it cannot reconnect after that and the software shuts down. I can still sync with outlook, so my driver is not the issue. I am out of ideas.
Is there anyway possible to reinstall just the bluetooth portion of the rom?
I have a Sprint HTC Hero. Is there an Android app that easily and more directly turns on / turns off the phone's Blue tooth wireless connection? Right now I have three clicks to turn it on or off: Settings Wireless Connections Blue tooth (check box). I've posted in this forum because it seems Android has bluetooth issues on many devices.
I switch bluetooth on, turn on my car, then the phone connects via bluetooth to the car's speakerphone device.
I turn off the car, the phone sees the bluetooth speakerphone losing connection all of a sudden, then if I switch bluetooth off the phone tries to switch it really off but after a fews seconds bluetooth turns on automatically.
I can't reboot the phone everytime I have to switch bluetooth off.
PS: I really don't understand what's Goolge's problem with bluetooth. Really, they can't make it work right. It worked perfectly on 4.1.x, they've broken it with 4.2 and never fixed it 100%.

I dried everything out, there was a ot of water under the screen, then turned it back on. Everything seems to work fine but a couple things. It wont connect to the internet, 3G and bluetooth will not turn on. I did the trouble shooting with the verizon tech with no help. So I have a new phone on the way through my insurance but since they are on back order still it may take a while. I need to find a way to get my contacts off the incredible to an old LG dare that I now activated and am using. The incredible will connect via WifF. I went to the verizon store but they couldn't get it to transfer.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am new to rooting and I am using Nonsensikal 5.4 and when I am on a call using my bluetooth or a wired headset, I can't get the screen to turn back on during the call. The only one that turns it on is the end button and that hangs up the call. Sometimes I need to get a number or some other info off the phone. So I have to hang up get the info and call the person back. Is there a setting I can change to fix this. I already tried trackball wake in the cyanogenMod settings.

My phone says it is up to date. I am sure there are a quadrillion updates or fixes users of X10 want. I have to say though, this is actually my first and only problem with X10.

I am running ICS (4.0.3) on a HTC EVO 3D and looking for an app that turn GPS on when connected to a specific bluetooth device (ie parrot in the car). Als it needs to turn Wifi off when connecting to that bluetooth device.
Now, the extra thing I would need is that it turn GPS off and Wifi on again when disconnected from the bluetooth device.
I have used A2dp volume, which turned GPS on, but not off...
my device is rebranded chinese made phone running 4.1.2 Andromax ULE
and it has been rooted and installed with CWM, last time i know, there was no problem with bluetooth...
so for past 5 days i was searching any possible way to fix bluetooth problem not turning on, but with no luck...what i have done, are...
- reboot [not working]
- factory reset [not working]
- flash other custom rom via cwm [still getting bluetooth not turning on]
- flash stock rom via stock recovery
- flash a raw image [download mode] with HDD RAW COPY then change the correct imei and meid [still the same problem]
after all the above step....only BLUETOOTH not working...here is a log :

I have my Hero rooted with Fresh 1.1. I love it, but I have a few questions for the future.
1- I recently switched from a PC to a Mac. If I want to switch ROM's or go back to stock, can I do this on a mac? Or do I have to use a Windows pc?
2- I was interested in switching from Fresh 1.1 to Fresh 2.0c, but I'm a bit confused. Do I have to go back to stock, then root and flash 2.0c? Or can I flash it on top of 1.1?
I bought this phone a few days back and i can't seem to get the wifi or the bluetooth to turn on, am i missing something? Also, i downloaded the Idroid ADW theme so i could have those little dudes as my icons and it doesn't seem to have worked. Is it supposed to automatically change or is there something i have to do?
View 29 Replies View RelatedI ALWAYS have my carrier 3g network and blu-tooth turned off at all times using the power control widget that came with my HTC Desire. but when i turn on my phone, my carrier network and blu-tooth are turnred on, and my mail and some other things get refreshed, using up data.
Is there a good widget or app that permanently stops the network and blu-tooth from turning on unless i do it manually? i cant find one on the market! i only set my refreshes of my mail to just once a day, and is there a way to set these refreshes to none a day, just manually?
I got my new AT&T Xperia X10 last week. For the first couple of days, all seemed well. On Saturday, I lost effective wi-fi. In settings is indicates that I am connected to my witeless access point, but when I try to access the internet, I am told that there is no connection. Also, at about the same time, I haven't been able to turn on bluetooth. In settings again, I select turn on bluetooth. Then it goes off for a while, and times-out. This cycle repeats itself continuously as lonk as I hit the OK button.

When I turn off my bluetooth headset, when the phone recognizes that it is not connected, it tones - some sort of ringtone. It's pretty loud and I'd like to turn it off if possible, but can't find it in any of the settings. Anybody know where this setting is?
