I remember one of the sticking points last year for me, was the inherent problem in Android of Bluetooth support for Bluetooth Voice Dialling for true "hands free". Not to mention Bluetooth file transfer. I understand Android may still have a problem with Bluetooth voice dialing, or is this just problems with, I think it is, "Droid"?

Just got an N1 AT&T unlocked. Paired it with a Nissan 350Z bluetooth hand free. It pairs and the light on the car says it's connected. The N1 BT icon says is connected as well. When a call comes in, the car and the phone will both ring. When I pick up the call, either on the phone or the car, the system will switch to "phone" but the call always goes to the phone. I have only been able to actually use the car's handsfree once. Is anyone else having issues with their BT hands free in their cars. The other phones I had worked perfectly.

I connected with my phone to the hands free and it didn't even ask me for a passcode as it does with others.
So................the problem is that it sometimes connects and will then drop and will have to restart both devices.
I´m facing problem with phone book synchronization of my Xperia X10 2.1 with Parrot CK3100 bluetooth hands free. The exact issue is that Parrot import few of contacts only and rest have not displayed at all. After re-connect again it works fine for while.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been having an annoying problem whereby my phone takes somewhere between 2 and 10 or so minutes to connect to my car's hands free kit. The handsfree is a factory fit bluetooth unit in an Audi. I've had the car over 2 years and with my previous phones (SE W810i, K750i and C905) the connection was always made within 15 seconds of turning the ignition on. With the Desire it takes so long sometimes that I can have reached my destination before it connects!

If you have the phone connected to a handsfree bluetooth system in a car and are also using the phone to play music via an aux input through the headphone jack will they both work? I am just wondering if the bluetooth connectivity will override the fact that you have something plugged into the headphone jack. I will be able to try this in a couple weeks when i get my car back, but wasjust curious if anyone else already has tried it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Blaupunkt Melbourn car stereo with the Blaupunkt USB/Bluetooth Interface installed in my car and it used to work just fine with my Sprint Mogul and Touch Pro, but I can't seem to make it work with my Hero. When I pair the two, the radio only recognizes the Hero as an audio source and not as a phone. In other words, I assume I can stream music from the phone to the radio but I can't answer the phone with it. I should add that the connection icon shows up as audio headphones instead of a phone handset in the Bluetooth Devices screen.And this is just the opposite of what I need. I could care less whether I can stream music, but I need to be able to use the car radio as a hands-free device and as I wrote in the last paragraph, the radio worked perfectly in that capacity with my last two phones.So does anyone have any idea whether this is a phone problem or a stereo problem? Does anyone have any idea if there's a work-around? For that matter, does anyone have any helpful information at all?
View 11 Replies View RelatedFound a few threads about people having problems transferring their phonebook to their hands free kit in their automobile. Had the same problem myself - was able to connect and pair with the car kit. I was able to make and receive calls, but didn't have the phonebook.
Then yesterday, while setting in the car, I was going to re-pair the connection between the phone and car I noticed that in the Notification Bar that the car was asking permission to receive the phonebook from the phone. Opened the Notification and granted permission and clicked on always grant access (or something similar). Phonebook was then transfered. Haven't had a problem with it since...
Will you be able to use a Bluetooth earpiece to do hands free dialing? I know this is a problem with the Incredible and the Moto Droid.

I am looking for a bluetooth hands free car kit that can send stereo signal to car radio utilizing a wire to the aux input on the radio. I have a Motorola T-505 that does this with an FM signal, however I cannot get a clean FM frequency.

I prefer just to use a cable for the sound since it's clearer and I don't have to keep fiddling with stations when I get feedback. All the other docks that I've found are window mounted suction cup deals. Does anyone know of a dock that plugs into the cigarette lighter, but doesn't have the FM transmitter?

I went through all the settings and could not find a way to configure the phone to speak the SMS, the caller id, etc....when I am driving.

I got my desire last week and everything was good until last night when i changed my googlemail address to gmail. I looked across the forum and found that the best thing to do was reset the phone. I did this and all was perfect once more until I went to go to college and was listening to music but couldn't change tracks or pause using the hands-free kit. I have no idea how to get it working again and don't know if the reset had anything to do with it stopping working. All I know is it worked perfectly the other day.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S3, and I noticed that my thumbnails cache was absolutely massive. It grew to 9.6 GB in size. Using Root Explorer, I deleted the .thumbdata3 file and replaced it with a blank file. I noticed that my free space remained 550 MB. I rebooted the device, and it was still reporting only 550 MB free, but there is no sign of the 9.6 GB file anymore. The new .thumbdata3 file reports that it is 0 kb. Next, I tried deleting the .thumbnails folder entirely, thinking maybe the old file was still there someplace. I created a new .thumbnails folder, and created a new .thumbdata3 folder inside of it. After deleting the 9.6 GB thumb file, and the approximately 750 MB worth of photos that were in .thumbnails, my device still shows that only 550 MB is free.
How can this be? I searched the entire device using Root Explorer for any files or folders containing ".thumb," and the 9.6 GB file is definitely gone.

View 7 Replies View RelatedGalaxy S f/w 2.1. It doesn't find either of my bluetooth devices - headset and handsfree. My old phone worked fine on both of them.
I enable Bluetooth. The icon goes nice and green. The blue squiggly thing appears in the top bar.
I activate my VisorBlade hands-free device. It beeps and the right lights come on. But no glimmer of recognition from the Galaxy. I go to Settings > Wireless and Network > Bluetooth > Scan Devices. Nothing found.
I switch on my Plantronics Voyager 520 and it beeps and the right lights come on. Phone remains nonchalently aloof. Scan for devices. Nothing doing.
But. My PC finds the phone when I do the Make Device Visible thing.
Anyone know if the bluetooth voice dialing works on the Galaxy S? I'll be getting the Fascinate if that makes any difference.

I've been using the Wireless AP mode which works really well, but I think the bluetooth mode will use less power.I've been able to pair the phone with my macbook, but I'm not sure what settings it needs on both sides. On the phone I'm assuming just enabling bluetooth is enough for it to be a modem, but on the macbook I need to fill out:username, password, apn and cid. I'm not sure where to find this info.Please god tell me I don't have to call Bell to get it.
View 4 Replies View Relatedwell , finally made the switch and got an android phone , very happy with my galaxy s, apart from 1 major issue i can't get my phonebook/contacts to sync with my in car bluetooth system. I can make and receive calls faultlessly , but definately have to be able to access my contacts hands free. every time i try to re-pair it it offers an option to share contacts, but does not work once paired .Can anyone more technically savvy than myself offer any ideas / help , unless i can get this to work the phone will have to go back
