there's any way to disable text message previews on my lock screen? Surely this represents a massive security flaw- having the text for anyone to read without needing to unlock- so I would have thought there was some way to remove this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedNot sure where to post this but i am gonna do it here and hopefully it is helpfull to someone.Just watched this video over on the dailymobile.se website and some guy goes through how he has customised his nexus with different apps and there is one for diabling the lock screen and using the power button to wake it up without having to swipe to unlock.He uses an app called "No Lock" and i am now using it and it saves me valuable finger swipeing time.How to customize your Android phone with different apps (video)Also there are a load of other customisation he has done but he goes through that aswell and names all his apps etc.

My messages show up, but when I swipe them, the lock screen slides over to a second page. I tried playing around with some of the lock screen settings, but couldn't figure anything out. Am I missing something completely obvious, or is this somehow not possible to do?
Brand new S4 received yesterday, stock OTA 4.4.2 pushed by Verizon about 5 minutes after my phone was activated.
After playing a bit more, I found that if I swipe to the second lock screen page, then back, if I tap on the message notification it will open, but tapping before that yields nothing.
Since the new update yesterday my phone no longer displays the lock screen new message preview, strange.I've been through the message settings, everything is checked as it should be.No message mods or anything else present on the phone.

Whenever I get an email with more than 5 images attached, thumbnails show up for only the first five. Any after that have an empty space where the thumb should be, but each image (first 5 AND any following images) has buttons to download or preview the image. So while I can conveniently get a good idea of what the first five images contain, I have to preview or download any following images to do the same, which requires opening the image in a separate image viewing app.
My phone's a Sprint Epic 4G Touch, with Gingerbread (2.3.3, I think), and I'm using the Gmail app, version 2.3.6.
Is there anywhere to change the number from 5 to something else?
Does anyone know how to disable the pop up text message that comes on the screen when u receive a message thru handcent? i would like it to jus show up in my notification bar so it wont interrupt me doing something else and show in the text big on my screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive a text message, it displays a gray pop up box with the text and buttons to "close" or "reply". I want to turn this off. It's often slow and sometimes pops up while I'm already typing my reply. I've gone into the messaging settings and turned off everything that I figured could be related to that. I even turned off Auto-retrieve, but I still get those gray popups. I would really like to have them turned off.

I mean, it seems to work the same, but there are 5 small screens at the bottom of my home screen that look as if they are previews/shortcuts to the other screens. Just makes one more thing to do to bring it up from sleeping.Guess I will see what happens with accidental screen touches.From what I see you'd have to hit the on/off button(unlikely) or the home page button(more likely) to get it to come out of resting. Screen touches do not wake it.

However there are a few of the messages which I would like to keep. I am using the stock message app. When I long press to delete the thread there is an option you can check to delete locked messages, however no where can I find the ability to lock a message.
