I have a note 2, and the touch buttons next to the menu button responds late somtimes, or it wont work at all sometimes. What could be the prob?
Normally it works fine, and my ram are under half when it happens so it is not ram. Also everything else works even tho the touch buttons don't.

on Android devices I experience lag between actually touching the screen and the event when the application knows about this touch (about 0.1s). Is this a mandatory for Android in general, or is this the limitation of hardware I have tried, or is this a limitation of Android versions prior to 4.1 (I haven't tested JB yet)? I have tested several musical apps for Android and they ALL lag. I press the virtual button, and only after a gap I hear the sound, which makes it all unusable in realtime. When I tested iOS based devices the response was just immediate. So I'd like to know if Android device can ever do such things at all, or I shouldn't expect that?

I think there is a problem with touch screen response speed.Although Galaxy SL has a 1 ghz processor and better gpu than SonyEricsson Xperia Mini, It seems that Xperia Mini is faster when we're talking about touchscreen response(messaging,sliding the menu etc)
After trying another lower resolution(i mean lower than galaxy sl) android phones such as galaxy ace, galaxy gio or android sdk(because you can set any resolution with it) I realized touch screen response is related with resolution.
Lower the resolution faster the touchscreen response gets.I found this really annoying. You're paying much more to get a faster and big screen phone. But what you get is slower than the cheaper ones.
Do you think is there a way to lower the resolution on samsung galaxy sl to get a faster response? I found a way to change it but instead of changing the resolution(like 800x480 to 640x360) it changes LCD density and that is not what i want because it does not affect any response speed. or maybe another way? Changing kernel, improving gpu etc?
I'm trying to remove some softkeys from a ROM for the Galaxy Note. The Galaxy Note has a hw home button and capacitive back and menu buttons. The thing is, I like tablet ROMs because they use the screen better, but all of them come with Home, Menu and Recent Apps soft buttons added. On TW modded roms you can also find a multiwindow button to launch apps in multiwindow mod (looks like a "^"). So I just want to keep this button (maybe Recent apps too, I'll decide it later). I know how to decompile apks and edit xml's. What I want to know is which apks I need to edit and which xmls in said apps I need to edit/remove entries. I already tried to edit SystemUI.apk and tw_systembar.xml (deleted the entries for Home and Back), but UI crashed on startup and never come up again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I've recently transferred from iPhone to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and one of the first things that I noticed was the fact that whenever I press the button on my headphones to either change tracks or just pause the song, the time taken for it to do so is at least 5 seconds, once it took 20 seconds just to pause! I've been using spotify to listen to my music by the way.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that after the last update, my touch screen doesn't work for a few seconds on random occasions and then works again after about 3 or 4 seconds. when I'm reading a book and they're about to reveal the mystery or enthusiastically playing a game and it stops working, I get increasingly frustrated that I can't turn the page or that I lost the game because during the last few seconds my touchscreen decided to temporarily stop working.. I just want to make sure there's not something wrong internally.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy galaxy s2's screen has occasionally stopped responding, the os was still running and everything so it wasnt frozen, my touch screen just simply stopped working. Only way to fix it was to hit the back of the phone and do a battery reset. This issue started poping up more and more, and now it won't respond.

No custom roms/kernels have ever been installed, has always run off the stock. Never been dropped or had water on it (I took very good care of it).
The nav bar at the bottom (back/search/options/menue) and hardware buttons all work. Everything above the screen no longer works.
What iv done: I've reset the phone, did a bettery pull for the night, fully charged it, looked at the board and checked all the connections (all good). Would flashing a custom rom/kernel be something to try next? Why would the bottom nav bar work but no the rest of the screen? Could it be locked somehow? If it is.. how would I unlock it?
I've been a couple of days trying to solve this thing but I can'f figure it out.The problem is, simple activity, with simple layout, ScrollView -> LinearLayout -> and a lot of buttons inside the layout (within the scroll content). Everything works just fine but one tricky thing. When I click a button let's say at the top of the scroll content and inmediatelly I scroll down to the bottom of the content and I click other button there, nothing happens until I click a second time and all come to normal again.This can be reproduced anytime and it's code independent (i've tried more than 20 scenarios). I've not much experience in android yet but looks like the scroll listener stops the onclick listener or something like that.

They may eventually light up but it would take a while. Also sometimes they light up immediately with no problem. Is anyone else having this same issue?

The keyboard backlight only turns on when the slider is open. Now the touch-sensitive buttons will infact stay lit as long as you would need them, while the screen is on .Life just got a little easier B)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI like many of you have been waiting for months to get my hands on the epic. However when I bought one, the battery life was insanely unusable even after 4-5 days. So I finally returned it for a new on. Well find out over the next few days how the battery performs. But the new one has capacitive buttons that barely respond to touch. Particularly the home key and menu key. I've read of a bunch of people having similar problems. Are we just a few unlucky people who happen to be on the forums, or is Samsung having serious Quality control issues here?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI finally installed bugless beast 7.4 and really like it. I like the multi touch in all the applications but I found that I miss having the zoom buttons in the browser. I like the multi touch for fine zoom control but I like just hitting the zoom button and it automatically fits the text to the screen. Does anyone know of a way to have both? I know you can double tap the screen but I find I like the button better.

I tried restoring it to see if certain apps maybe causing it but that is not the issue. Restored still same problem. it happens about every 5 minutes.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the htc magic and its been acting up as of late. It's been running super slow, taking over a minute or more to load the home screen after running apps at times. My most recent, and worst problem, is every time I get a text message and go to turn of the display, it won't light up but instead shows the android loading screen (the one when you turn the phone one.) Sometimes ill already have it on and when I click the text box in the messaging app to reply, it does the same thing. Any suggestions on how to fix this? If not, I'm going to look into getting a new one or just switching to a phone with less hassle.

The issue is that my layout never gets displayed until the OnCreate method has compoleted. Since my 3 functions takes about 10 secs to complete, I have a blank screen being displayed for 10 secs. This layout has a progress bar which meant to show the progress thru each function.
I purchased the IR overlay from here [URL] I got it working with my mk808b by using an idc fiile, however, it only allows one touch point which means no zoom. On the computer it is multitouch.
