so after a week and a half of having this phone the screen response has started to lack. when I first got it the phone was almost to fast for me. now it seems like it has slowed down a lot and the screen sensitivity is almost on par with my old LG Voyager. its almost like a hit or miss with what I touch.could it be that I have a screen protector on there?

I am working on a game that displays its graphics through a modified SurfaceView.The game scrolls around a map based on the location of the main character.That all works fine.I am trying to add a feature to the game that allows you to touch the screen and drag the camera around to see other parts of the map.This is where I am running into trouble.The game's SurfaceView overrides 'public boolean onTouchEvent (MotionEvent event)'to call another method in the game's thread which handles the events.Sometimes, this works fine (although the frame rate drops significantly while the screen is touched).Other times, there will be a delay of several seconds before the game responds to a touch event, during which time the game continues, but the user loses all control.During these delays, a message sometimes appears stating that my activity is not responding, and giving the options to 'Force close' or 'Wait'.If the user selects 'Wait', the game almost always resumes right away, but these delays are obviously not acceptable.The delays occur only the first time the screen is touched after the game is started.Once the game has resumed after a delay, the touch events work just fine again.

I think there is a problem with touch screen response speed.Although Galaxy SL has a 1 ghz processor and better gpu than SonyEricsson Xperia Mini, It seems that Xperia Mini is faster when we're talking about touchscreen response(messaging,sliding the menu etc)
After trying another lower resolution(i mean lower than galaxy sl) android phones such as galaxy ace, galaxy gio or android sdk(because you can set any resolution with it) I realized touch screen response is related with resolution.
Lower the resolution faster the touchscreen response gets.I found this really annoying. You're paying much more to get a faster and big screen phone. But what you get is slower than the cheaper ones.
Do you think is there a way to lower the resolution on samsung galaxy sl to get a faster response? I found a way to change it but instead of changing the resolution(like 800x480 to 640x360) it changes LCD density and that is not what i want because it does not affect any response speed. or maybe another way? Changing kernel, improving gpu etc?

View 11 Replies View Relatedon Android devices I experience lag between actually touching the screen and the event when the application knows about this touch (about 0.1s). Is this a mandatory for Android in general, or is this the limitation of hardware I have tried, or is this a limitation of Android versions prior to 4.1 (I haven't tested JB yet)? I have tested several musical apps for Android and they ALL lag. I press the virtual button, and only after a gap I hear the sound, which makes it all unusable in realtime. When I tested iOS based devices the response was just immediate. So I'd like to know if Android device can ever do such things at all, or I shouldn't expect that?

Normally it works fine, and my ram are under half when it happens so it is not ram. Also everything else works even tho the touch buttons don't.

View 27 Replies View RelatedI have had my Incredible for 24 hours now, and I am having problems with the touch input becoming completely unresponsive. Sometimes just waiting will fix the problem, sometimes I have to turn the screen off with the power button and then turn it back on to get it to recognize input. Just as an example, for the last 20 minutes I have been trying to type my password in Market to associate my Google account in order to buy an app, and have given up because I cannot successfully get through typing my entire password without the screen becoming unresponsive to the point that I cannot finish.Also, in regards to the keyboard specifically and not the entire screen in general. When using the landscape keyboard, I CANNOT, no matter what I do, get the keyboard to recognize the character "G" every letter surrounding G works, but G is a no go.Last night I even did a hard reset and that did not fix the problem. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.
View 14 Replies View RelatedJust a quick question about the Captivate. I just got myself an HTC Aria and I love how easy it is to use the touch screen on it. Its extremely responsive. Now my sister has the SamSung Instinct on Sprint and the touch screen is horrible compared to HTCs touch on the Aria. Im thinking about taking the HTC back to AT&T and getting the Samsung Captivate. I am just worried about the touch screen on it and if it will be like the Instincts? If the touch is as good as HTCs Ill get it. If its not, then Ill stick with the Aria because despite its size, its an extremely fun and responsive phone. Any thoughts?

When it does, it's very glitchy, and pretty useless for anything that requires a swipe (like navigating home screens). I've tried all sorts of combinations of what finger I use, angle, and pressure, but it seems like as soon as I pick up the phone and do the same thing I was doing, it works fine. Just me or no?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had this issue happen a few times, so I disregarded it, but a few hours ago it happened 3 times in a row.I'm in the middle of a phone call, and suddenly I hear a beep, and I look at the phone and the call was disconnected (I'm back on the 'Phone' screen). I then realize that the phone becomes unresponsive (the screen doesn't respond, same thing goes for the Home/Menu/Back/Search buttons).The only thing I can do is press the top 'Off/Lock' button to shut off the screen, then press it again, and everything goes back to normal.Is anyone else experiencing this problem? If so, any advice/solutions?My phone is stock, no rooting or roms. I've downloaded a few apps from Android market and that's about it.My 30-day purchase window is up in about a week, so I'd like to get this resolved before then to avoid any headaches.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've read about a possible grounding issue with the some screens, but I haven't read about the issue I'm having. Randomly the touchscreen will stop working... It doesn't matter what I have open it will just stop working. The system is still running, calendar alerts will pop up, and the time will still advance, but I can't do anything with the phone and have to pull the battery and force a reboot to get the screen to respond. I initially thought maybe it was an app, but this has happened with nothing running except the default apps.

I have an HTC Evo that hangs up on everyone that calls me.I keep the phone in my pocket and, in trying to pull it out to answer a call, my leg slides the bar.I could keep the phone in my pocket upside down and then I would answer every call but that isn't much of an alternative.I am looking for something that overrides the Sense's lockscreen/answer screen.I tried both GoTo and WidgetLocker.Both are great programs but neither addresses the incoming call issue.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a new droid for $20 haha lucky i think until i notice that the touch screen only works for the middle of the screen to the left so if yu cut the screen into thirds only the middle and left work assuming that yu cut it from top to bottom with the lights at the bottom for the home button etc. I opened it up cleaned all the flex cable with alcohol and waited for it to dry and it still does the same thing so my question is = do i need a new digitizer or is it a software problem or something that i dont even know?

Tried looking around and unless I'm missing something (I am particularly good at missing the obvious!) there doesn't seem to be anything that does just that. Anyone know/come across anything that will do this? Does anyone know if this might be included in 2.2?
