move photos/videos to a pc from a connected android device (phone). The device does not present itself as an external drive, but rather as a connected device. Both types of files are located in the DCIM folder.If it was an external drive, I could create a batch file to do it, but this way i'm not able to.

This is my scenario: I've got my android tablet (the asus transformer) and I have 3 accounts set up there, 2 are gmail accounts (say, account A and account B) and a third corporate account (exchange activesync, call it account C)
I used account B when I was in my last job and have a lot of business contacts there. What I want to do is to have a simple way of copying some of these business contacts over to the exchange account (account C). I also would like to copy a couple from account A (personal stuff) into account C.
I just got a microSD card for my Galaxy S3. I want to move all of my photos to the new SD card. How do I do that?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm only slightly knowledgeable in smartphone maintenance and technology, I know how to do fairly general maintenance tasks on my S4 but have difficulty when an issue comes up. Older phones used to be easy for me to handle. As phone technology advances, I find it harder and harder to keep up.
Anyway, Since the 4.3 update rolled out for Sprint customers, I've been having issues with deleted photos reappearing. Specifically, the ones stored on the SD card in folders that have a little sd card icon next to the folder icon (photos on the device delete just fine). I've searched for the issue but most of the things I read are related to a new card being installed or Picasa syncing the deleted photos. I don't have a new SD card, I've never had a Picasa account or had it on my phone, I've disabled syncing in Google, Google+, Facebook, Gmail, I've deleted Dropbox, turned off every sync option available in settings and the gallery settings, gone to apps > all > gallery and cleared data, gone to My files and tried deleting them there, installed a photo gallery app and tried deleting photos through it. None of these have worked.
I then thought I'd hook up the phone to my computer (running Windows 7) and try to delete them that way but the computer will not display any of the photos stored on the card. Only what's on the device. So irritated with this! Why can't I directly manage photos on my device through the gallery like the days of yore? WHERE is the syncing coming from??? Where did the SD card folder even come from? I didn't create it. And why the limited access to files when connected to my computer via USB? Gotta figure this out somehow. Photos and videos have somehow taken up 7GB of memory.
I don't want everything syncing and linking to everything else!! I like to keep things separate and manage each app/program/utility independently. The occasional access via, say, Facebook or something, is okay now and then but complete, automatic connectivity isn't something all of us want.
I'm using a Galaxy Nexus, and I loved that my phone automatically synced my photos to Google. However, it has inexplicably stopped. I have trying manually syncing the photos, but to no avail.

I have a Galaxy S4 and every time I go to sync my photos there are a ton of random pictures that I have not taken or taken screen shots of. This is really annoying and there are pictures that I definitely do not want on my phone that are showing up. The odd thing is these pictures do not show up in my actual gallery on my phone, only when I sync it to my computer.

I've stored images and databases in the assets folder before without any problem, but for some reason now that assets aren't being seen. The code I'm using is as follows;

When I run this the UI displays the WebView displays page not found. What am I doing wrong?
I am not able to copy the photos from mobile to my computer.I have tried reinstalling the PC Companion suite and also have updated to mobile to Android version 2.0.The folder where the photos reside in the mobile is not coming up in the Phone Card Memory,Can any one helpe to sort out this issue? It seem they stay in the gallery for about a day and then they are moved. I cannot figure out how to bring them back to the gallery or to so that I can send them out or edit them with the phones photoshop. The photos taken with the camera are on the SD card in the DCIM file while the downloaded photos are in the download file but I am not finding any menue that allows me to retrieve them back to the gallery.

In Google + I have checked the box to allow Google Drive to sync with Google Drive. Most of the pictures show up in Google + without a problem. Some however, do not. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to this either. All of my photo folders. It doesn't seem to be related to one format or another. (Ex. One JPG file is there and another isn't)

If I open my media player and go to the sync tab, I can create a play list to sync. Only when i hit start sync, it starts sycing ALL songs in my media play as opposed to the ones i selected. I would rather use the photos I have for contacts in Gmail but now that I've synced with Facebook I can't get the photos to go away, short of going to each contact and choosing to sync the birthdays but not photos. Even then, would i really have to add each of their photos to the SD card and change each one individually in their contact file? More simply put: How can I unsync Facebook photos with contacts? I tried logging out of Facebook and uninstalling the app but, disturbingly, it continues to show contact photos from FB and, more disturbingly, gives me updates on them. I'm definitely logged out and I definitely uninstalled the app.

Basically, when i set the phone up, i linked everyone that i had On facebook with thier contact info on my phone. All the photo's linked over and i've been receiving updates etc as your supposed to. However this morning i looked trhough my phone and on the widget where you show your favourites, as well as the whole phone book, the profile pictures have disappeared!
Has this happened to anyone before, is it a common problem (i couldnt find any previous threads etc), and can someone assist in fixing it again?
You'll have to manually connect some of your contacts if their names don't match. This syncs their photos, but NOT the rest of their info. It does NOT bring all of your Facebook contacts into your phone and SMS apps.
View 44 Replies View RelatedI don't remember how I did it, but I was somehow able to upload all the photos that I've taken with the camera to Picasa. Now I have quite a few videos in there as well, but I do remember a message saying that videos are not supported by Picasa and that only the photos would be uploaded. I'm now trying to do the same thing, but whenever I choose the entire 'Camera' folder to upload to Picasa, the only 'Share' options are YouTube, Gmail, and Bluetooth. Does anyone know how I may have done that the first time, or a way to sync photos from the gallery to Picasa web albums?

I have used HTC to transfer my Outlook contacts to the phone as a one-off but even though I have "Sync Contacts" enabled (Home->Settings->Data Sync->Google->Contacts) on the phone I don't see these contact details when I log into Gmail on my Win PC and click contacts? View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm developing an app that backs up and restores the saves of all Angry Birds Versions. For devices with Android 1.5 or higher I've written a simple input/output file stream, and it works.
On device with Android 4.1 or higher (due probably to the increased security) the Angry Birds saves require more permissions to be copied from my app (rwx isn't enough). Is there a way to change the permission adding root access in my app or is there a solution without adding root?
What is the difference between installing an apk in the normal way, and just copying the apk to /data/app and then rebooting?
If i use the copy method, some apps work while most give FCs....
