I have a huawei u8160 (Vodafone 858 Smart) running Psyke83's Cyanogenmod 7.2 14/8/2012.
I installed the separate USB host zip using clockwork mod recovery, However the usb host mode is not working nothing happens at all when I connect a usb OTG cable to a thumb drive.
nothing lights up , no notifications , the phone doesn't light up if locked.
What should I do?

When I was trying to get Clockwork Mod sorted for my Huawei u8160 phone I accidentally chose to flash it with the official Clockwork mod for the Huawei u8150 stupidly misreading it as my own phone and now it has left me with an unusable recovery so I can't install any new recovery or ROM's or anything, I am getting almost constant errors whenever I try to run my phone saying whatever process has stopped working and that I need to force quit it. I have tried to start it in fastboot or whatever it is called but all I am getting is a screen that says "firmware update step 1/2 unpacking update failed", I have tried to start with many different key combinations but nothing is working.

I'd like to give some more information about my situation:
I've been using CM7.2 on my Huawei u8160 for almost half a year now, without any kind of problems. Lately, the phone started rebooting randomly, especially during phone calls, making the phone almost useless. The reboots also occur when the phone is idle. These reboots drain the battery extremely fast.
I've been using CM7 with the V6 supercharger, as I said, for months without problem. When these reboots started happening, I reflashed the rom, doing a full wipe (clear cache, clear dalvik, format system, format data, factory reset etc.) , but that didn't solve the problem. I reflashed CM7 several times, with / without V6 supercharger, without deleting those system apps that are safe to remove (live wallpapers, update notify etc.). I also reflashed the stock froyo rom the device came with. None of these methods worked.
It is getting more and more frustrating, since they occur randomly, and I can't make a proper phone call, since it's almost guaranteed the phone will reboot during the conversation.
I tried formatting the SD card, using another SD card, resetting the battery stats, using a program on the market and the CMW Recovery - nothing worked.
Another thing I noticed (this may sound very stupid) is that the phone reboots more often when I'm outside (it's winter here now), or when I enter in a warmer place, or when the phone is in my pocket.
I asked an assistant from a nearby Vodafone store, she said that it is a software problem ( -.- ) and that the phone needs to be sent for service. I told her I've already reflashed the software, and she said I only did an update not a full soft flash.
I have also created an error report using the device specific setting menu included in the CM7 rom, which I am attaching here.
I want to return to factory data, but not doing a simple wipe data..

After a drop from 0.5m this mobile loops on boot after I insert the battery or only the charger. What's happening? I pulled out the sim and the sd but it seems to get stuck. I also try to get in recovery but nothing. Is there anything I can do?

After a few days of effort, I managed to compile a half-working cwm:Can be flashed by odin1.85
Boots successfully
All keys work, including volume up/down and power
Adb works, I can now mount /system and root my device
Something wrong with display, screen blurred and messed when boot into cwm
Partitions not correctly auto-mounted,

I guess it has something to do with MSC partition not mounted, but not sure.
Getting cyanogenmod working with Airwatch? I got an LG G2 with my new company and I must admit it is a pretty nice phone and they do pay the bill witch is nice as well. However, I am not the biggest fan of non aosp based android. I don't need root and even turned it off for cyanogenmod. However even with my phone encrypted and pin code protected it still shows that I am "compromised". Any luck in general with getting airwatch working with cm11 or another aosp based rom?

I have been using a trusty U8120 for a while now with Fresh Zodiac Fruit Rom. I was browsing on it last night and then next day the screen was just inoperable. Sometimes it would "take" some input, but it would understand something different (e.g. on a keypad, touch it in the middle "5" and it understands top right "3", but then again, "3" doesn't register either).
Here's the funny thing: it doesn't take any input whatsoever, but, if the screen is about to idle shut down and I touch it, it goes back on full light, meaning it understands the touch.. what the..?
I tried reinstalling the firmware but nothing happened.
will roms made for the huawei ascend 2, work on the huawei sonic, as the phones look identical, and the specs are pretty much the same?

I've always wondered, why hasn't the HTC sense Launcher (Rosie) ever been ported to other devices, from other companies, without means of a ROM port? After all, a vast majority of other launchers have been ported - Touchwiz, Xperia eDream, LG UI, Pantech UI... The list goes on really.
So why no love for Sense? I've never heard of any version of Sense ever being ported. Is the underlying framework stuff too complicated or something?
I've been trying to port a rom ovef to my cdma Xperia play from a gsm Xperia play I cannot find what files need replaced to get service for my cdma port attempt I've swapped out my baseband files the rild file I've switched out the (here's the weird part) baseband files and both framework-res.apk and framework. Jar I get the full working service but I have to litereally tear apart the port rom and basically make it a stock rom so its not really a port rom if I have nothing from the port rom. I'm confused and cant seem to get service or any answer on the files needed to swap I knobthe build.prop is built correctly

I have tried everything I can think of with my limited knowledge and was putting this here to see if some more seasoned devs may provide some insight. I'm hoping like hell this isn't kernel related but I seriously doubt it is. Data works fine and so does mms/SMS. I did have to port the ril from our limited ics roms we have to get data.

I ported miui us over to the att s3. One issue I have is when an incoming call takes place it does not show the "1" like it should 1-555-555-5555 instead it shows +55 55 55555.

It seems strange to me: ext2/3/4 is the native filesystem for the device - but with device as USB host I can't access. It seems only FAT and NTFS is available.
Is there any ways to make this possible?
Background: my Sat-Receiver records to an ext2/3 partition and I would like to transfer this smoothly to my nook.
Currently my solution is to use my laptop, there I need a ext2/3 driver and transfer via MPT. This is not very comfortable and slow.
