Nov 14, 2012I ported miui us over to the att s3. One issue I have is when an incoming call takes place it does not show the "1" like it should 1-555-555-5555 instead it shows +55 55 55555.

General :: Unable To Use Themes On MIUI
Dec 30, 2012I just installed the newest MIUI version on my SGS3 (I9300) Unfortunately it seems like I'm not able to use themes... When using the themes from XDA it says that they're not from the original store and doesn't allow me to use them. When trying to download themes with the preinstalled "Themes" app, nothing happens when hitting the "download" button... not even an error message. Then I tried to download them from the XIAOMI (official MIUI store) website. When using some of them the same thing as with the XDA themes happened. The only exception where the official ones made by the "MIUI Design Center". They gave an error message that said that the Server was unavailavble. I guess it tried to check if the theme was from the MIUI store. I also tried turning off my Wi-Fi and data connection. That didn't change anything.
Is there any way to stop that nonsense? Like trying to stop that online check so I can use my themes? I understand why XIAOMI did that, but since I'm not using paid themes it doesn't make a difference to me...

Apr 11, 2013I use a Note 2, and was able to install apks perfectly fine until this afternoon, now i'm unable to click "install" , it isn't greyed out or anything. I know screen filter and similar apps have a bug which doesn't allow you to click install, so I disabled and uninstalled them just to be sure.
I'm on stock 4.1.2, no software updates of any sort in the last month,weird it suddenly stopped allowing me to install apks
Able to install apps from the play store otherwise.
Edit- Also rebooted several times, and tried installing apks i've installed before, no dice And I do have unknown sources checked.

Apr 9, 2013I've always wondered, why hasn't the HTC sense Launcher (Rosie) ever been ported to other devices, from other companies, without means of a ROM port? After all, a vast majority of other launchers have been ported - Touchwiz, Xperia eDream, LG UI, Pantech UI... The list goes on really.
So why no love for Sense? I've never heard of any version of Sense ever being ported. Is the underlying framework stuff too complicated or something?

Jan 22, 2013I've been trying to port a rom ovef to my cdma Xperia play from a gsm Xperia play I cannot find what files need replaced to get service for my cdma port attempt I've swapped out my baseband files the rild file I've switched out the (here's the weird part) baseband files and both framework-res.apk and framework. Jar I get the full working service but I have to litereally tear apart the port rom and basically make it a stock rom so its not really a port rom if I have nothing from the port rom. I'm confused and cant seem to get service or any answer on the files needed to swap I knobthe build.prop is built correctly

Boots successfully
All keys work, including volume up/down and power
Adb works, I can now mount /system and root my device
Something wrong with display, screen blurred and messed when boot into cwm
Partitions not correctly auto-mounted,

I guess it has something to do with MSC partition not mounted, but not sure.

Sep 13, 2010I'm a newbie on smartfones and had spent a few days adding useful apps to my Galaxy S. File management and, file transfer applications to wireless link to my laptop followed by the transfer of all my work presentations (powerpoint) and lecture notes. All worked fine until today. Now, my device seems to have lost all the downloaded and installed apps (leaving gaps on the desktop). It has also discarded the image I had chosen for my screen background, and I can't see an icon to go to the Android store. Finally: on one of the screens I have the message "Problem loading widget". That might be connected to the problem that Android Market has completely disappeared. How do I get that back!! It's important. My transferred files are still sitting in folders in DCIM so that's good. but none of the special applications are visible. Can someone give an opinion on this. Has something taken place online with Samsung that has put my system back to its out-of-box state.

Aug 9, 2010I'm new to all this wifi stuff. I have no problems connecting my Desire to my wifi at home, which is great. But at work (or at least in the vicinity of my office) there is an open wifi point. I have now tried on several occasions to connect to it, but it always fails. It gets as far as trying to get the IP address then nothing happens until the connection fails. Then it starts trying to connect again, but it gets stuck every time on getting the IP address.This would not concern me if it weren't for the fact that other work colleagues (one of whom also has a Desire) have managed to connect without a problem. I've moved over to where those people work, in case it was a pure location thing, but still no success.Is there something obvious that I've missed on this? Or anything that I could try? Obviously I'd like not to have to use my data allowance while at work if at all possible.

May 13, 2009No matter what I do I am unable to open a file, either in my app's data directory or on the sdcard and also in a folder on the sdcard. To test I placed a test.txt file in all three directories.When I do listfiles, I get the correct list of files set in an array. I've even tried getting the list and filtering out a specific file and try opening it that way and just trying the first item in the array. Is there some security that may be set that is making it so I cant open files? This is not the emulator, it is on a device.

Nov 22, 2012I ported paranoid android from the desire HD to the thunderbolt and almost everything works fine except for the mic and speaker during calls. I have tried everything I can think of with my limited knowledge and was putting this here to see if some more seasoned devs may provide some insight. I'm hoping like hell this isn't kernel related but I seriously doubt it is. Data works fine and so does mms/SMS. I did have to port the ril from our limited ics roms we have to get data.
