View 3 RepliesI've noticed that none of the new phones coming out have HDMI out on them anymore. I've got a Razr Maxx that I'm looking at replacing and was looking at the new Droid Maxx but I'm concerned about the lack of HDMI out. I'm a boater and have a TV on my boat. I connect my Razr Maxx to my TV with a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable and watch Netflix when I'm on the. I'd hate to give that up but also realize that my Maxx won't last forever.
Any new phones that do have HDMI out?
I'm trying to find out if anyone has tried to use Evo + Slingplayer + mini hdmi cable and hooking up to a tv? Any success?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Touchpad and a Galaxy Nexus, both devices with ICS and good quality screens - but I am looking for games and stuff I can play on them.
I am looking for high quality games, that has both good content and good graphics.
I have games such as Anomaly HD, World Of Goo, Edge, Dungeon Defenders, Osmos HD, Backstab HD. I also heard that portal, counter strike and GTA 3 was ported.
Is there any other good ports? Or high quality games.
I've always wondered, why hasn't the HTC sense Launcher (Rosie) ever been ported to other devices, from other companies, without means of a ROM port? After all, a vast majority of other launchers have been ported - Touchwiz, Xperia eDream, LG UI, Pantech UI... The list goes on really.
So why no love for Sense? I've never heard of any version of Sense ever being ported. Is the underlying framework stuff too complicated or something?
I've been trying to port a rom ovef to my cdma Xperia play from a gsm Xperia play I cannot find what files need replaced to get service for my cdma port attempt I've swapped out my baseband files the rild file I've switched out the (here's the weird part) baseband files and both framework-res.apk and framework. Jar I get the full working service but I have to litereally tear apart the port rom and basically make it a stock rom so its not really a port rom if I have nothing from the port rom. I'm confused and cant seem to get service or any answer on the files needed to swap I knobthe build.prop is built correctly

After a few days of effort, I managed to compile a half-working cwm:Can be flashed by odin1.85
Boots successfully
All keys work, including volume up/down and power
Adb works, I can now mount /system and root my device
Something wrong with display, screen blurred and messed when boot into cwm
Partitions not correctly auto-mounted,
Code:
adb shell mount -a

3. Can't reboot to android system
I guess it has something to do with MSC partition not mounted, but not sure.
I have rooted my karbonn A6 nd now i want to change its ROM .. i want rom and how to change it because CWM recovery is not ported for my device. ROM's and how to chage them with theme and icons ??
View 3 Replies View RelatedI ported paranoid android from the desire HD to the thunderbolt and almost everything works fine except for the mic and speaker during calls. I have tried everything I can think of with my limited knowledge and was putting this here to see if some more seasoned devs may provide some insight. I'm hoping like hell this isn't kernel related but I seriously doubt it is. Data works fine and so does mms/SMS. I did have to port the ril from our limited ics roms we have to get data.

I ported miui us over to the att s3. One issue I have is when an incoming call takes place it does not show the "1" like it should 1-555-555-5555 instead it shows +55 55 55555.

I searched and cannot find an answer for this: I have not been to a hotel with a TV with an HDMI input, they typically have the red/white/yellow inputs. Is there a cable that is micro HDMI on one end and the three on the other end? I realize it won't be HDMI quality, but i could at least put movies up on the TV from my phone.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Toshiba Excite 10 LE (AT200) Tablet running ICS 4.0.3 and have it connected to my TV using a micro-HDMI adapter and an HDMI cable.
It connects fine and I can see the image, but I have no toolbar (Back, Home, Task Switch, Clock, etc). I have tried to check if my TV has any overscan settings that could adjust this and have my TV set to 'Just Scan' which sets the overscan to 0, as opposed to 16:9 mode which cuts off part of the image, but there were no settings I seemed to be able to modify on the TV which allowed for the toolbar to show up.
Likewise in the Tablet menu, I don't see anything under Settings->Display which could show the menu bar. I know it is still there since I can drag my bluetooth mouse below the bottom of the screen and hit the Home button, but I'd really like to be able to see it.
I didn't see any apps in the market that allow you to adjust HDMI out overscan settings either.
I have an android tablet that I need to display one application on its screen and another out the HDMI port. I havent been able to find out if this is possible. This would be similar to the windows ability to "extend" the desktop out multiple monitors.

The reason I ask is because I would like to use a wired 360 controller with the OnLive gaming app while outputting to an HDTV.
I am using my old phone (an Xperia Arc S) as a multimedia player since it has a HDMI port. I would like to use my headphones while watching a movie. The problem is when I connect the headphones they don't seem to be recognized at all when the HDMI cable is plugged in too. All the sounds go through the HDMI cable.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to force Android to output ONLY stereo over a HDMI connection?
My Denon receiver initially receives a stereo signal from my Asus TF700 tablet, but after a few minutes the tablet starts outputting a 7.1 signal (3 front, 4 surround, 1 LFE). I've tried modifying audio_policy.conf but it hasn't seemed to make a difference. Is there anything else I can try, or a tutorial on how to add a limited 'hdmi' entry to the audio_policy.conf?
Basics. I have a Coby MID-7042 tablet. The touch panel cracked on it so it is useless and cost to much to get fixed. With that said I am now using the tablet as an Android TV. I have hooked the tablet up to my HDMI TV and am using a mouse on the USB port to control the tablet. The thing is I am thinking of ripping the tablet apart and removing the screen and battery and other items. The thing is if I remove the LCD screen then I cannot get into recovery if needed and I cannot see the system booting on the HDMI connection.
Is there any way to force the HDMI connection to be the primary or will this happen naturally when the LCD panel is disconnected?
Since Android is Linux shouldn't there be a value somewhere that allows the selection of what screen is the primary. I know this can be done since there are quite a few Android TV boxes out there that use the HDMI connection as the primary display.
When I connect my Galaxy Nexus to my TV over HDMI, I can play YouTube videos but *only* the video shows on my TV.
I paired my phone with a Bluetooth mouse, but if I move the mouse or click (or tap the phone with my finger), the pause button and seek bar ONLY show on the phone, NOT the TV.
I would like to use the Bluetooth mouse as a remote, but obviously with no on-screen controls appearing, this is difficult.
I am about to buy Galaxy Ace Plus S7500.
The phone looks all good to me with the price But I just wanted to know that does this phone has tv out via hdmi or not ?
and if yes how ? Would it require to root me or load a custom rom or just via downloading an app or maybe just nothing extra.
When I connect my Droid RAZR MAXX or ASUS Transformer to my HD monitor, the video displays fine, but there is no sound. I suspect this is because the monitor does not have any speakers, but I was hoping there would be a way to just let the audio play from the device. That's what my laptop does when connected via VGA (which might not support audio anyway; I don't know a lot about the different inputs/outputs).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have searched a lot over google etc. about knowing if the smartphones with HDMI output capability actually outputs 720p or 1080p on HDTV or it is just that the screen resolution is upscaled to HD..
I can understand that all HD games are high in graphics but they are not actually 720p resolution certainly..but i am talking about HD movies which are of 1280*720 resolution which plays on my xperia neo v like a true HD video with high density of my screen with bravia engine enabled it looks awesome on my mobile..
But my query is when I connect it to HDTV by HDMI cable provided with xperia neo V...the same HD (1280*720) does not seems to be like HD..So is it that it outputs the mobile screen resolution by upscaling even in the case of HD files ?
Is that just happens with xperia neo v or all the android smartphones with HDMI output capabilities just upscales the resolution?
how to make the HDMI output for HD videos look as good as possible..(specially on my xperia neo v)
