General :: Nexus 5 / CM 11 - How To Hide Navigation Bar Constantly
Dec 11, 2013 I got Cyanogenmod 11 (the latest nightly) on my Nexus 5, and I use Nova Launcher Prime.
What I am trying to do right now is to get rid of the navigation buttons at the bottom completely (instead I use Pie Control)
So far I am using the expanded desktop mode, however, that doesn't work nearly as good as I hoped it would.
The problems are that a transparent NavBar appears quite often, when I use the keyboard they reappear and take space.
So far I tried to solve it with different launchers (but without success). I tried to use apps like ultimate dynamic NavBar or GMD auto hide softkeys. All they do is put another layer of Navigation Buttons on top of the already existing Nav Bar.
I also tried to use Full!screen, and that worked pretty nicely, but the problem was that it always also disabled the status bar (which I want to keep).

Cool tablet but coming from Blackberry Playbook (still own it) it just kills me that the taskbar (i think this is how it is called) is always visible whether watching a movie or playing a game. Jun 15, 2011My company has a policy for our company email application (Good) that doesn't allow the application to run if a phone is rooted. Brilliant, the application is password protected and has remote wipe capabilities, but that still isn't enough for them! Which means I'm stuck carrying two phones around. I would like to either hide superuser/su/root from the phone when I'm not needing the escalated rights, or just block it from seeing it completely.
I'm currently running (about to upgrade to a new ROM, but not sure which):

In there, all the red parts contain tutorials on settings that don't actually work on my device, and for OCD sake, I don't want them appearing in my settings because of it. But simply cutting them out of that file will make the settings app crash whenever i open that menu

Nov 24, 2013I've been using various ROMs (including various Xposed modules) in the past and most of them allow me to auto-hide the status bar.But whenever I swipe down from the top and the statusbar is displayed, it resizes the entire content on my phone.
What I was looking for is a statusbar that will show up above the content, like the immersive mode in KitKat but for JB so it doesn't resize my content but overlap it.
I know there are some apps that give you this kind of auto-hide status bar but it will only work in fullscreen apps, so I tried to make everything on my phone full screen (using expanded desktop) but it doesn't seem to work...

Apr 11, 2013I've dumped my thumb drive and now use my smartphone (HTC V One) for the same purpose. One side effect is I now have a couple directories full of mp3 files that I'd like to hide from the music player (no, they aren't those kinds of files. They're work related, not music).
Is it possible to hide directories from the music player? Even better, can I tell the music player to only look under 'My Music' on the SD card?

So I am wondering how to hide or protect my phone when it's plugged in, just charging or as a disc drive. I could use a wall charger but when I want to do file transfers, I am not sure if anyone can access my phone (Samsung S4). I am not sure what kind of network our company is on, when I log in from home, it comes to a SSL-VPN screen, another says Sonic Wall. Jun 27, 2012I am looking at a good way to hide apps from the list. I want the apps to be able to run (like Email) and do the sync, but not to display the icons in the list. I have seen that ICS comes with a "Disable" function for system apps, but it doesn't work for me because it also prevents the app from running.
I also want a way to launch the apps myself (through a hidden menu or command) at will.
I have tried things like Application Protection, which allows you to password protect the apps you want. However, since the icons are still there, it is still tempting for my kind to click and ask for the password.
