View 1 Replies View RelatedI have purchased the apps "Open Home" and "Better Keyboard" for my Droid and love them both. The only thing that i cant figure out is how to hide all the icons in my pull up menu. I have downloaded multiple skins and the icons are all over my pull up menu and i dont need to see them. is there any way to hide them. If not i can get over it but it would be nice not to have to look at them all the time. any help would be much appreciated.

I don't want to see the text labels, but I want everything else to stay the same. I don't want to use Home++ or anything else that fundamentally changes the Android experience. Could an app be made to do this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am looking at a good way to hide apps from the list. I want the apps to be able to run (like Email) and do the sync, but not to display the icons in the list. I have seen that ICS comes with a "Disable" function for system apps, but it doesn't work for me because it also prevents the app from running.
I also want a way to launch the apps myself (through a hidden menu or command) at will.
I have tried things like Application Protection, which allows you to password protect the apps you want. However, since the icons are still there, it is still tempting for my kind to click and ask for the password.
When I navigate the menu, it's because I want to access apps that are not in my launcher.
Is there some app out there that makes the apps that you have in your launcher disappear from the menu?
I've looked all over the forum, but don't see any recent posts for my question. So I'm hoping someone can help... I would like to hide or remove unwanted icons from the left side of the notification/status bar. I realize most programs give you this option, but some don't (such as the latest version of Norton security program). It just sits up there and hogs up real estate. Ideally, it would also be nice to be able to rearrange the icons, or make them larger if desired..
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Note 2. The only reason I bought it because on iphone I wasn't able to hide my apps without jailbreaking. I was really looking forward to some on android market that would allow me to hide certain apps and password lock them along with password locking settings options. Yet I have not been able to find any. I have a few apps that I want to hide from my family and friends.
I would rather not root my phone as I am not that technically advanced!
New feature of ICS, "Recent Apps with thumbnails" is a privacy concern for me. As it shows my personal text messages in the thumbnail to people whom i handover my device. I have already locked message application but still ICS is able to capture a screenshot of it and displays it in Recent App history. Is there a way to bypass an application from Recent apps history?

How do I clear unwanted icons from home? Is it same procedure for deleting unwanted apps from the device?
Starting today I am seeing unwanted icons on mt home screen linking to Google Play. How can I determine which of the apps on my Nexus 7 is adding the unwanted spam so I can remove the app?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a bit into customizing my home screens to make it look like the ones on mycolorscreen.com and in those UCCW threads.
But there is one thing thats bugging me, and that is the use of app icons on the home screen. I dont like it, its too messy and too iOS'ish.
Some are replacing the app icons with other custom icons, or removes them completely, but i rarely see what i've been trying to do; to make custom icons that open a meny of apps (in one genre..)
Like one icon for music apps, and one for travel apps etc.
I have tried to fix this using tasker widgets, like this:
and when i click on the music icon, which is a tasker widget, it opens a tasker scene with a meny of 4 music apps:
This works pretty good, but i would like the tasker widget icons to be just icons, no subtext under the icon. There is no way in tasker to do this i think, i've tried to make a task with no name but it is simply not allowed.
I've also tried to make a uccw widget, but hotspots in uccw can open apps and shortcut, not a many of apps..
i know that i can make the launcher remove text under icons, but this doen not apply to my tasker widgets.
Since I updated I can't hide apps in the all apps view. How to do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a new 8GB micro SD card for my Optimus L9, the intention was to allow me to move my current apps from my internal storage to the SD card, and download new apps to the SD card. I have tried the strategy of clicking on an apps setting and clicking the button that should be halfway down the page that allows me to move it from the internal storage to the SD card, but the button, for any of my apps, does not appear. It's not like its there and I cant click it, its really not even there.

I'm running 4.1.2 on the LG Optimus G Pro.
I can see the permissions by app, but I can't find a way to change them if I don't one of them doing something.
Is there a way to hide apps from the app drawer without either rooting the phone or downloading a launcher/home replacement (Launcher Pro)?
