General :: HTC Evo 4g LTE Won't Boot After Added Script?

How can I add u2nl to init.d? I have an HTC Evo 4g LTE and need to make android 4.3 Viper4g Rom run my script on boot. I've tried to use Root Explorer and Root Browser apps to manually add them to the init.d folder, set permissions and changed owner and group to root. But my phone won't boot after I've added my script. The name of my script file is autostart.sh and this is what it contains.

export PATH="$PATH:/system/bin"
iptables -P INPUT ACCEPT[code]....
I have tried to rename the script to 99data and placed it init.d directory so it would run last but phone won't boot.😵

I try to understand android boot sequence on my JB (under CM10). I found some docs and there should be specific partitions (boot, recovery, system, cache, data).
My understanding of the boot sequence is now:
A) normal boot:
1) Power ON ->
2) bootloader ->
3) boot-partition where i flashed the kernel aka boot.img ->
4a) system-partition with the OS (libs, UI, etc) where i unpacked over CWM my customROM.zip ->
4b) data-partition, where i unpacked google-apps.zip and installed all the apps ->
4c) cache-partition with user data
B) recovery boot (adb reboot recovery):
1) Power ON ->
2) bootloader ->
3) recovery-partition with CWM where i may unpack all the .zip stuff to proper partitions, or restore from sdcard, etc.
Is this correct? I wonder, because i didn't installed CWM into recovery-partition. It cames from install of CM10 (fastboot -i 0xfce flash boot boot.img), so it must be in boot-partition and not in recovery?
So, next confusion: i looked up to /proc/mtd and i don't see neither boot nor recovery partition here:

I am trying to do some low level performance testing related to device processor cores through adb which I feel it is affected by Android background services and system stuff.
As I know that the Android boot sequence stages are as follow:
1.Execute Boot ROM code.
2.Execute the boot loader.
3.Load the Linux kernel.
4.Launch Zygote, which initializes the Dalvik VM.
5.System server which loads the Android system.
So my question is how can I interrupt this sequence to force it stop on stage 3 to load Linux kernel. This can implement my intermediary performance testings before loading again Android system.
Does Fastboot or Clockworkmod recovery can load my device to a kind of Linux kernel?

In going through the online order process today, I noticed this on the "Review Changes" page.Listed as a new feature is "General IP Address" as a no charge addition.Anyone know what this is for?Tethering?WiFi Hotspot?I have a WinMo smartphone and this "feature" isn't listed for my current plan.Just seems like an odd feature to be listed.

Instead of seeing the boring old Android logo or my service provider's logo, I'd love to see the standard text-based Linux boot screen that shows the status of all the hardware and configuration info as my phone boots. My current phone is an HTC EVO 3D running Cool ICS with Sense 3.6 and Revolutionary CWM.

I have the Galaxy S2 and use Google Calendar. All of a sudden when I get a reminder from the calendar it has: (4 more reminders). I 'dismiss' it and the next day there it is with: (3 more reminders). This just started last week. I have not changed anything. Reminders are set for different times.

I've been doing alot with the initialization routines in android just lately .
For all my efforts I have been unable to get the device-added init action trigger to fire,
Just to be clear this is set in init.rc and looks like the following,

The above is taken from the init readme file which contains an example init.rc at the bottom
I did some further research and a quick search of the AOSP code. This revealed that the functionality is yet to be implemented. which obviously explains why the trigger wasn't being fired . The device-removed and service-exited triggers are also missing.

I have added a couple of soft keys through navigation_bar.xml in SystemUI.apk. The soft keys show great, but are also showing on the lockscreen, when the others "disappear".
The added ones are Menu and Search, the order is Home, Menu, Recent Apps, Back, Search. This is to be the same as my desire hard keys. I know, no point in it, but have just got used to the soft keys so much!
Anyway, here is my coding, I have removed the android:visibilty="invisble" attribute to no ill effects...I have also added the relevant strings and ids in their respective places..

I regretted moving to android from iOS. Here's my problem , after i accidentally remove google account from my phone and after i re-added my google account back to the phone , my phone keep redownload deleted apps . I tried to disable google sync like google drive and data and samsung backup and even disabled backup on my phone but its still not working. I also tried to go play store but i can't find anythings thats related to the problem .I deleted the deleted apps 5 times but after i deleted it , my phone keep redownload it back from play store. Is this a new malware ?
Im using Samsung S4 i9500 and I'm running latest firmware android kit lat 4.4.2 and no root.

I went to reboot my Droid because it was lagging a little and when it came back on it go stuck at the Cyanogen boot screen. I pulled the battery, put it back in and held the X to boot in recovery and my recovery won't come up either. It just skips right to the Motorola M and if it doesn't get stuck there it goes back to the Cyanogen screen.
I haven't made any changes to the phone at all so I am completely puzzled on why this is happening. I obviously can't take it back to Verizon since its rooted so if there is a way to fix this I really want to because I love my phone and my wife will kill me if it is screwed up.

I noticed WebView seemed to have some new methods I didn't remember from before. Unfortunately I can't tell exactly which ones are new, without actually trying them and waiting for the SDK to catch the mistake.Could the docs please state in which API release a method, class, interface, enum etc was added? This is pretty fundamental to know when trying to figure out how to implement something.

Recently got my hand on Xperia X10i. I needed to debrand the phone, so I flashed it, and get generic firmware. Dont know if that's the couse, but when I upload new files to memory card, there is no chance to see/find them. When I use 'office suit' to browse through the SD, all I can see are folders. When I access any of them I see nothing except the message 'No supported files'. Its wierd as they are video and graphic files like mpeg, avi, jpg. Even wierder is that I can see all these files when accessing my phone from my PC. Any idea ?

So i have followed the MANY tutorials on how to add your app to the SHARE menus using android.intent.action.SEND in the manifest...I can't figure out for the life of me how to get the image or display the image or even upload...so here is what i am trying to do...upon click my app in the share menu, it will open up the intent that handles this request...i already have the layout but i need to load the image into the ImageView on the layout itself...once loaded, i will type a caption in an EditText and then click the save Button...then i will upload it to my webserver...i have found all the parts i need to get this done other than how to get the image itself..

Alright. So my phone is set up to torrent fu. I use transmission in case that is important. Anyways. I can manage my account and delete torrents and things like that. And I can search for torrents no problem. BUT when I want to add one, it will think for like a min and tell me that the torrent was added. The torrent is not added to my list nor does it even start to download, even though my phone says that it was added.

I added Handcent, which rocks. But now in my notification bar there are two text notifications--one from Handcent and one from the native SMS app. So my question is: Is there a way to keep both SMS apps from showing up in the notification bar? Can I delete the native SMS application?

It looks like when ever I email someone via Gmail it adds them to my contacts. From reading around, it appears that there isn't a way to stop this unless you change your contacts not to sync with any of the Gmail groups. But if I do that, then none of my contacts sync with Gmail. Is there a way to stop Gmail from adding contacts when replying to emails?

I was wondering is it possible to get a notification of when a new configured network is added to the Wifi Manager in Android? I know you can get the current list of configured networks.

But is it possible to get notification of when a new one is added? I don't see anything in the Wifi Manager that would be helpful. How this could be achieved?

My application show a ListView with a button which allow user to add an element. When the user clicks on this button, another Activity is started to allow user to populate the new element. When the add is finished, we return to the previous Activity with the ListView and I would like to scroll to the new element.
Note that this element is not necessarily at the end of the ListView because there is an "order by" when I retrieve the datas from the database. I know I need the cursor position of the new element to make the ListView scrool to it, but the only info I have about this element is its id, so how to convert this id to cursor position ? Do I have to loop on the cursor to find the position?
