General :: HTC One SV Audio Not Working?
Jun 5, 2013
I have a HTC ONE SV with Beats Audio speakers. I really love to listen to music so I bought a pair of Beats By Dre tour earbuds. They worked perfectly for about 2 months and then suddenly they stopped working with my phone. I plugged them into my iPod touch and they worked perfectly. I plugged a pair of SkullCandy earbuds into my HTC ONE SV and they worked perfectly as well. I tried the cotton swab cleaning method but that didn't work. I also tried the paperclip method to no avail.

I had installed Beats Audio Installer which did improved the Quality of Sound on my Headsets and even Beats Headset were Supported...but it spoiled the sound of my phone Speaker.. that is.. Crackling and low sound on some Default Presets of MusicFX. so i had to uninstall it. after Removing Beats.. My Phone Speaker Problem got Fixed but.. MusicFX is working no longer. wen i choose sound effects in default ICS music Player. it Says "Unfortunately MusicFX stopped Working". i tried Clearing Cache and Data of Both Music player and MusicFX but nothing works. I even installed third party Equalizers but all crashes showing Same Message. I even Installed N7 Music player and when i select its Equalizer it says. "But we cannot Initialize Equalizer."

is that possible (at least theoretically) to get working steaming audio to wireless and wired headphones simultaneously [Android 4]? It doesn't matter, if you steam the whole system sound or just sound of single program (for example music player). The idea is to get audio output on 2 devices at the same time. If that is not possible, can confirm possibility to steam audio using A2DP to 2 separate headsets? I've met some old devices (for example samsung cell phones on their own OS) which allowed to select multiple bluetooth devices as clients and steam music from the player simultaneously to multiple headsets.

In short, certain games will just stop playing sounds after a short period until I've forced-closed the program in question with a task killer. For example - Robo Defense Force, I can play with sounds on all day. Retro Defense on the other hand, the sounds will cut out in less than 5 minutes after booting up. I'll lose one turret's noise after another until I'm playing a silent game. Once that has happened, leaving the app and restarting it does nothing - I have to force close the app to get the sounds back. Is this an app problem or some underlying issue with my phone and/or settings?

Okay so some of you have probably figured this out but since it took me so long and I finally ended up pulling apart the Jager .zip install file to figure it out, here's now you do it.
Go look at any tutorial you want for making a boot animation, I'm not going into those speciffics here.
Instead of putting your first animation pictures in the folder part0, put it in the folder 'android'
In desc.txt you need to change the second line from 'p 1 0 part0' to 'p 1 0 android' substituting your loop number and frame delay appropriately of course.
Now just make sure you push bootanimation.zip and android_audio.mp3 to /data/local (this is NOT on the SD card but you can push to it without superuser)
To check to make sure it's working, do adb shell and use the bootanimation command. You can get out of it with a control-c (the audio will play but the screen will probbaly still timeout so if it goes blank just hit the power button).

I am trying to make a very simple radio player for Android and I cannot get the audio streaming to work. In my latest attempt it plays for about 1 second and stops for some streams and it doesnt work at all for some other streams. Logcat doesn't give much useful information to me. I am testing on HTC Hero (Android 1.5).
If I hook the completion and buffer events I see the audio gets a complete event but it keeps buffering. Is there anything wrong with the code below? Should I be able to stream the the audio streams below? Is there a complete example somewhere of a working radio streaming?................

I have had Audio Manager installed for a while now and every few days the settings move on me. Specifically the system volume. I like keeping it at 2, and it will default back to 7.
Not a huge deal, but it's annoying. I'm wondering what is causing it to change. Maybe an app? Anyone with audio manager experience this?

Just wondering if anyone else is having the problem Im having. Ill be listening to a game on the app and the audio will just stop working. Also I cant seem to escape out of the app. I have tried backing out using the arrow key, Ive tried using the "quit" option on the app and Ive tried to stop it using the phones running services. Only way to turn it off has been to power off the phone and power it back on again

Is there an Android equivalent to the iOS Core Audio / Audio File Stream Services? I need to be able to read audio bytes from a network and feed them to the audio system under my control, so I can do my own timeouts / reconnects / range requests / etc. without interrupting the audio playback (since the system audio thread would be playing audio already enqueued). It seems that MediaPlayer doesn't give me this level of control. Is there a lower-level framework that does, either in the SDK or NDK?

why there are so many better audio apps on iOS.
What I've learnt is that Android is much harder to write for. Generally we have both UI lag issues but also audio lag issues. Combine this too and we have significant problems for say, a keyboard app.
Now what I want to know is what is the source of this and can it be improved.
I remember this problem with linux years ago. Eventually we than had ALSA, jack and all the rest. There's a lot to fixing latency in linux:
1) Realtime kernel is useful
2) ALSA or Jack... Pulseaudio and AudioFlinger I'm not quite sure why we'd want one but not the other??
3) Then there's the OS itself and keeping the relevent process at a good priority... but not too high to freeze interactivity.
So what's the analog for Android? What do I even search for to find info? Keywords I can think of at the mo are only "Android realtime" or "android lag" and both of these only produce semi useufl results.
Here's some threads but they seem to be UI related which would not be fully related to the example of a beatboxing app, which could have no UI and be audio only and still lag:

I use music application (PlayerPro) and a time (LafayChrono). Problem, the clock application serves medias volumes output, not the alarm volumes output. So, I can not set the volume independently of one another.
My question is, if it is possible to "root" the sound output of an app to another type of volume (LafayChrono to alarm volumes output) ?
