View 2 RepliesToday I have for the first time been able to Sync my HTC One with my MacBook 10.6.8.
I have used Sync Manager and 'ADDed' an MP3 file (originally from a CD - a learn French course) - BUT it won't arrive at the HTC One.
Is it possible to reboot an Android smartphone as a non-smartphone(Like a Nokia 1100) ? Just enable only services to make phone calls and everything else remain disabled(Slow down the CPU to the lowest clock speeds, lower bit depth, turn off all on-board electronics other than those necessary etc). Motivation is to save power. In my phone most of the power is consumed by Android OS (and not screen). I was wondering if I had a mode like that I could keep the phone alive in case I can't charge the phone immediately, by switching into this power saving mode.

I tried to open the audio file while calling (with default sound player and google music) but although it openes the app it says "unable to play during call".I also tried in handsfree mode but didnt worked.
I use sg s3 mini with android 4.1.2.
I want to play an audio file on a voice call as following the application initiates a call from device X to device Y. When Y replies application on device X should inject an audio file in the stream of the call so device Y hears this audio file
Is possible to inject an audio file in the stream of the call/the output of microphone?
I want to build an application which will play an audio file when call is connected so that other person on the call can hear this audio file.

1) Can sim unlocked phones such as the Xperia Z1, Nexus 5, or Moto X Developer Edition be used this way? Do manufacturers, like Sony, update their unlocked phones?
2) How about carrier unactivated? Such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 or Note 3? Carrier unactivated would have to be activated on the appropriate wireless network to be updated? I'd be stuck with whatever is on the phone, if I'm correct.
made a lot of different customization to my current smartphone. i'm having an xperia arc (the old model) which does not have that much RAM nor CPU.after booting it, it runs fairly well. but some hours after that, its getting really slow. sometimes i have to wait 10 seconds until my UCCW clock shows up on my main desk.
i'm using the go launcher task manager to kill processes, but that seems not enough.how to tune up my smartphone? is there a great app on the marked i haven't noticed?

how to root this phone?
I have read that in-call audio is not available to SDK applications. Does that mean that there is no way by which we can access the up link/ down link audio stream? I don't want to do any call recording but instead I would like to use VOICE_CALL or VOICE_UP LINK or VOICE_DOWN LINK through my app which is interfaced with the blue tooth headset, so that I can use the Noise Cancellation capability of my blue tooth (which gets activated only when you are in phone-call mode). But am not sure how to go about doing it. To record and playback am using Audio Record and Audio Track classes.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a galaxsy s2, i want to control movies and music on my laptop using my phone.
I already know teamviewer app and i was wondering if there isn't a simpler app designed more for controlling media...
I was wondering if exist, or if it's possible to build, a special android release for old smartphones without basic phone functions, to be used just as standalone media player. I mean a basic distribution that allow just playing local audio files or remote files through wifi home network.
I have an old xperia x8, which is a good phone and there are a lot of android based custom roms, but i need to use it just as a media player. As soon as I power it on it has to show a list of music files to play.
I have observed that the Smartphones (particularly Android) do not perform as well as the computers when performance is compared on GPRS / EDGE.
I have tested streaming videos on while on GPRS / EDGE (not 3G or 4G) and observed that the smartphone gives up saying connection problem. When I stream the same videos with the same GPRS / EDGE connection through a USB Dongle on a computer(with same SIM Card inserted which was used for testing on Smartphone), the Computer performs better and is able to stream the Videos.
I request the experts to explain why this happens. The SIM and its location are the same and the speed received from it is also the same. Then why does the computer able to play it while the smartphone gives up saying connection problem.
I would like to clarify here that the GPRS / EDGE works alright on surfing websites etc. while the problem is only in streaming. I have tested this on various phones of Samsung / HTC / Motorola so the question of a particular phone having some problem does not arise.
i setup my Google account to sync my personal data which includes Wifi passwords. So I went to a friends router and entered the password into my smartphone and connected to the Wifi successfully. While in the network I synced my smartphones Google account. Then I enabled Wifi hotspot on my smartphone in order to sync my N7 Google account to receive the newly synced password. But sadly after syncing I couldn't connect to the Wifi because the password was not synced. What did I do wrong?
