Ever since i updated the software, two weeks ago, my phone keeps telling me that I have a new email (outlook) even though I don't! The phone vibrates as if I actually get a new email, but then it turns out that one of the already read emails suddenly is unread and "new". This happens every 10 minutes, so it's super frustrating. I am not using any specific app, just the one email-app that came with the phone.
I have a quick question about gmail, on my new hero I have two apps one called mail and one called gmail, the gmail app shows all the emails in my gmail inbox but the mail app does not what's the difference between these two and how can I stop getting two notifications everytime I get an email?
View 6 Replies View RelatedOne little thing I miss on my Blackberry was that I had it set to vibrate once for Social Network notifications, twice for an email and three times for an SMS. That way I knew how important it might be and whether to take it out of my pocket. My T-Mobile G2/HTC Hero (1.5) doesn't seem to have the option to change the default "vibrate twice". Is there any way of changing it? Or an app that might do it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to change the alert sounds for various events: email notification, SMS, power status, Google Talk, etc. I can change the alert sound via Settings->Sound & display->Notification ringtone, but the sound is identical for all the various notifications which seems ridiculous. Is there an app or widget which allows me to assign different notification sounds to different events?

View 8 Replies View RelatedProblem setting SMS Notifications. When I try to "Select ringtone" all I see are the folders in my sdcard0. I believe this is because when I saw the intial screen it had two choices: File Explorer and Media Storage. I mistakenly selected File Explorer and selected "Always." How can I get back to Media Storage as my default for selecting ringtones?
View 3 Replies View RelatedOnly had my phone a day or so and am receiving email and whatsapp notifications but nothing for facebook and twitter. Have uninstalled/reinstalled, rebooted my phone, ensured that the notifications box is ticked in the application manager and in apps themselves.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just switched from an iphone to a galaxy and am still working out all the tricks on the s3. One thing i seem to be having a problem with is the pop up notifications. what i would like is to have the phone wake up and show the email notifications on the lockscreen like the iphone does. I have notifications turned on for both gmail and the email app as well as facebook but the only time this works is with the messages.
Model:GT-I9300T
Android Version: 4.1.1
My phone only displays notifications from certain apps (FB Messenger, Snapchat, Tinder, maybe a few others) when it is connected to wifi. When I am not connected to wifi, I can still use these apps and send/receive messages, but when I get home and connect to wifi again I receive all the notifications I should have gotten earlier in the day. Email, SMS, WhatsApp, and BBM all deliver notifications just fine over the mobile network.
Potentially relevant info...
- Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini
- Android version 4.2.2
- sync and mobile data are enabled
- "restrict background data" is NOT enabled for the affected apps
- connected to Koodo (Telus) network in Canada
So on my Galaxy s4 I know how to set up a custom sms/mms tone for individual contacts. HOWEVER they are always the same tones listed. When I create or download any notification sound it won't show up on the list when I try to make it a custom but it will show for my default list. Apparently I did it somehow because one of my notification tones I created appeared on the list but that's it. How to add to that list?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently just switched from my iphone to a galaxy s4. I love it except for how I receive notifications. Is there anyway to receive notifications on the lock screen like you would for an iphone? All I see on my lock screen is text messages, I don't receive any notifications from instagram, games, etc..
View 6 Replies View RelatedLately I have realized that at home I don't get notifications from most of my apps. I have notifications turned on and I do get them pushed to me when I go to other places with high-speed internet. The internet at home isn't blazing fast but isn't slow at 13 Mbps. I don't get notifications for most games and some other apps, like hangouts, where I could end up missing out on a conversation because I never got the notification. I get notifications about new emails and updates from the Play Store but that's about it. Is there something I can try or do to fix this problem and get my notifications?
Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 running 4.2 Jelly Bean
I have a sprint galaxy s3 and I'm having issues with words with friends. anytime i have a move to play, it displays it as an ongoing notification in the drop down box. i have never had issues until i updated to jellybean. it is getting annoying because i cant clear it and i notice a huge drain on my battery.
the weird thing about this is that my wife has the same phone with the same version of WWF and updated to jellybean the same way, but her notifications are not ongoing and can be cleared. there is no way to change this in the application manager in device settings or physical settings with WWF. all i can do is turn the notifications on or off. i have cleared data, force stopped it, uninstalled it, installed previous versions, and even rooted my s3 and am running synergy rom, but still no luck.
I just got my Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant from Bell, and I am not verry technical. I have some (maybe 10) additional apps installed since i got the phone, including advanced task killer.
My issue is this: when I get a new message, it appears in the blinds (the thing at the top?) like it is supposed to, but after I check the message, it stays there, saying I have the new message. I can clear it and it goes away, but shouldnt it dissapear after I check the text?
I also crash frequently, but I am thinking newer firmware will fix that
Looking for some help, just got my SGS a few days ago and m having trouble setting a sound as my text message alert. I have downloaded a few soundboards and want to use one of them....i press and hold the sound i want and set as my default notification.....i then go into settings and choose the relevant sound but everytime i get a text I'm still getting the stupid t-mobile msg sound.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I assign an MP3 or indeed other audio file for my TXT message alert.? I have created and assigned about 5 different ringtones to both individuals and groups, but I can't get the phone to accept a MP3 as the txt notification ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had a look to the user guide but it seems that when receiving a call, I can only accept it or reject it. I'd like to be able to mute the ringtone instead of rejecting the call. Any clue?

View 7 Replies View RelatedAs simple as the title states, I find the low battery notifications annoying and intrusive; I am quite able to tell my battery is low just by looking at the indicator. how does one go about disabling these notifications?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am sure there must be a simple answer but I can't seem to find it! I got my Samsung Galaxy Portal yesterday and when I get a new text it makes a sound but I don't get a display on my screen. So if I miss the sound, or it is on silent, I have to actually go into the messages to see if there is a new one. Is there a way I can get new messages to display on my screen?
View 1 Replies View RelatedBeen lurking all over google, and the forums but to no avail. Is there solutions to receiving push notifications for facebook on SGS? I've set my settings to receive notifications, but so far I've set my notifications to come to my email. I've heard from someone that google and facebook are having some sort of differences. Anyone have any solutions?
View 7 Replies View RelatedHow do I enable notifications for updates to apps I've downloaded from the marketplace? Can't seem to find the option.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Virgin Mobile Galaxy S3 that just got the 4.4 update this morning. Afterwards it had to redownload/update nearly every app on the device as well as all my SNES and Playsation ROMs which I though was odd.
Now all the notifications for thos downloads will not go away. I've cleared them all at once, I've cleared them all individually. When I turn the screen off and then turn it back on an dunlock the phone all those notifications are back in the notification bar.
I was wandering if anybody could help me with the email notification problem im currently having. Iphones and blackberrys all give you a notification when you receive a new email or a new facebook message. The galaxy s does nothing when you receive a new mail. In settings you can select a ringtone, set it to vibrate when you receive a message. But nothing happens. The only way to find out if there any new messages is by clicking on the email app ( in which i am using hotmail).
View 6 Replies View RelatedToday I flashed XWJM8 on my Phone and it's all working perfectly, except there are no default sounds for my ringer and notification sound. The ringer is ok since I use one I downloaded anyways, but anyone knows how can I get the notifications sounds back/download them? It's hard to find a decent simple sound on the Internet.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently did a factory reset and flashed stock Android 2.3.6 back onto my Nexus S. Ever since I did that I have been getting an alert show up on my screen whenever my data connection is lost or restored. This is really annoying since I'm using JuiceDefender and my data is turned off everytime I put my phone display to sleep and it is restored once I unlock my phone.
The message pops up in the middle of the screen in a grey box that says "The connection to the Internet has been restored."
I never had this on stock Android before or on Cyanogenmod 7, any way to turn off the alerts? Is this a new built in feature to 2.3.6?
Of course we all know we need to add a primary email into the Android to set it up.
But I noticed when I get a email it gets set to my Gmail app (preinstalled can't remove it) AND my email app so I get 2 notification for 1 email. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
