Only had my phone a day or so and am receiving email and whatsapp notifications but nothing for facebook and twitter. Have uninstalled/reinstalled, rebooted my phone, ensured that the notifications box is ticked in the application manager and in apps themselves.

My phone only displays notifications from certain apps (FB Messenger, Snapchat, Tinder, maybe a few others) when it is connected to wifi. When I am not connected to wifi, I can still use these apps and send/receive messages, but when I get home and connect to wifi again I receive all the notifications I should have gotten earlier in the day. Email, SMS, WhatsApp, and BBM all deliver notifications just fine over the mobile network.

- sync and mobile data are enabled
- "restrict background data" is NOT enabled for the affected apps
- connected to Koodo (Telus) network in Canada
I have a problem in my Samsung Galaxy mini, I bought it yesterday and it works well till I looked at it and found "No SIM" word. I closed it and unplugged the SIM then opened it with the SIM again but nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini (model GT-I8190, Android Version 4.1.1) and as of about 3 weeks ago it will crash intermittently when I am using it. I have had the phone for just over a year.The battery will be well charged prior to it crashing. I will be using the phone and then it crashes. The phone will switch off and then will turn on again (by itself) and when the home screen appears the battery will show that its on 0%. This of course then causes the phone to turn off and then turn on again and so on....the only way of stopping this cycle is by taking the battery out (to stop the cycle) or by plugging in the adaptor. Indeed if the phone is plugged in then it never malfunctions and the phone works ok.
Also the battery charge has started to drop quite significantly - It sits on my desk at work and yet i cannot get through the day without re-charging it. When i was in the O2 shop the other day it dropped 12% in 5 mins.It usually crashes when I am using apps that in the past have worked fine but today it crashed when it was updating an app.I have deleted apps that I have added recently in case it is anything to do with them.I have backed up everything and have restored factory settings.I have not dropped it or got water on it etc.
The problem still exists.I took it to o2 who want to send it off. Is it simply a battery issue? It could be a battery issue but I dont want to spend money on a new battery for the problem to persist.
Today I realized that my GPS isn't working. My phone is samsung galaxy s3 mini (gt-i8190). i think it is because of gps conference. I found it in a diffuculty and i put it here:

i just want to know where the hell am I via gps. but the gps circle on the notif bar is winking consistently. i tried almost everything such as Faster fix, gps aids, gps doctor, gps surgeon etc but no success.

It generally restarts when i launch some apps like Cam scanner , What's app , Offline dictionary .It doesn't restart when i open the app . In what's app it restarts during conversations .Its not restarting all the time , usually it works OK .

Lately I have realized that at home I don't get notifications from most of my apps. I have notifications turned on and I do get them pushed to me when I go to other places with high-speed internet. The internet at home isn't blazing fast but isn't slow at 13 Mbps. I don't get notifications for most games and some other apps, like hangouts, where I could end up missing out on a conversation because I never got the notification. I get notifications about new emails and updates from the Play Store but that's about it. Is there something I can try or do to fix this problem and get my notifications?

Can I uninstall the stock fm radio on my phone using titanium back up pro without any problems? I also would like to know if I can do the same for Samsung apps, although probably not.

I have a problem with a Galaxy S2 Mini. The phone doesn't boot, it only shows the first Samsung logo and then the Samsung Galaxy S2 mini text, but after that, the screen turns black and the phone does only vibrate. Android BTW is very good, and in general i will not review the software side here, I will give each aspect of the phone a rating of 5 stars, where 3 represent Average .
Packaging (4/5): Good and relatively small box, it's include the phone it self, Battery, short USB to micro-usb cable (you should buy longer one), UK charger, in-ear Headset and guides.
Back cover (3.5/5): I didn't find any issue removing and putting back the back cover , just carefully slide your fingernail in the small opening in the bottom and left the cover, you can then align the cover back and press down with small slide downward.
Look and feel (4/5): it's lite , very lite ... it's look good on the front, i didn't like the back cover, but it's still got decent look. needless to say that the phone is finger print magnet, but i found it very easy to clean with small cloth. oh .. and it's look like the iPhone .
Booting (5/5): impressive and fast , no annoying start-up wizard or guide in the first boot, it's boot directly to the lock screen (5 stars to Samsung for that).
Display (4.5/5): Excellent, big and very bright (color pop-out nicely), very Good constrict ratio (Black is Black), however my only issue is the resolution , although WVGA is relatively high for a mobile phone, it's 4" display that translate to 233 PPI only (compare to 326 PPI in iPhone 4), any yes if i hold the phone 30cm (12") away or closer to my eye; i can see the pixels.
i wish it was something like 1024x576.
PS: it's the PenTile sub-pixel arrangement, i still didn't see any issue with it although the text is less sharp than the milestone.
Touch (4/5): Good , responsive and multi-touch , it don't have the cross touch issue like the Nexus one,however it don't seem to be Amtel touch sensor as rumored before as i can't use stylus with it.
Wifi and APN (4.5/5): Wifi setup was super easy (less than 15 seconds) and it's was up and running, Wifi signal strength is good compare to my other phones and i can get poor signal in my room which is 10 meter and 2 wall away from my router, APN Data however was not auto detected since the mobile is unlocked it didn't include my carrier setting, so i searched this info from the internet and enter it manually in the phone APN setting, it would have be nice if the phone can automatically download carriers info from the internet.
Speaker (4.5/5): it's loud and have good sound quality relatively, one of the loudest speakers i owned in a mobile phone. combine this with the excellent 4" AMOLED display and it's the best video experiences i got in a mobile phone.
Phone (4.5/5): very good reception, clear and loud voice. I am very happy with the phone as a phone .
Gaming (4/5): i played Asphalt5 which is an intensive 3D game that come with the phone (under Samsung Apps) , it's very good but i feel sometimes that the accelerometer is not collaborated correctly.
Camera (3.5/5): i was able to take good photos with it indoors (in well lit room) and outdoors also, it's not the best 5MP camera but it's good, HD vedio is also good although there no stabilization and no auto-focus

All my gmail account working properly but no notification recd. on my hotmail and yahoomail account. Is there any problem in setting? All setting I have been checked. I have WiFi at my home. Earlier when I entered home automatically mail notification recd. on Nokia E63.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Virgin Mobile Galaxy S3 that just got the 4.4 update this morning. Afterwards it had to redownload/update nearly every app on the device as well as all my SNES and Playsation ROMs which I though was odd.
Now all the notifications for thos downloads will not go away. I've cleared them all at once, I've cleared them all individually. When I turn the screen off and then turn it back on an dunlock the phone all those notifications are back in the notification bar.
I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy s4 mini and have realized that my contacts seem to appear on the screen very slow. It sometimes takes upto 2 minutes to appear. Some thing you all should know is that I have 2000+ contacts (mainly clients).
At first I was using google contacts and i assumed this was causing it to lag due to using data to refresh... but I transferred all the contacts to the device itself... so it shouldn't lag anymore!
When people even call... there name doesnt appear, and only the phone number shows, even though I have the number installed in my contacts. This is also the case with text messages. When I want to compose a new text, and search for a contact... it doesnt do anything for about a minute or two.
I have opened the developer mode, and changed the animations to off, but this hasnt solved the problem.
