I currently have ics and sense 3.6, but I wish to go back to stock ginger bread. A friend recommend that i use Odin...
But what is the easiest and safest way to do it ?
I had access to a Nexus Q, during the time i was using it, i flashed gapps on the Q's stock rom. My question is if i flashed gapps on the LG L9 (LP769) would gapps install properly? Is there a possibility of bricking my device (which i wouldn't mind because i have a backup)? Although the Nexus Q's bootloader was unlocked, I'm sure that would't have changed the outcome. The only thing that's truly bothering me is since the Q is a Nexus, and since gapps seems to be heavily based of of vanilla android, wouldn't that mean flashing gapps on the L9 more prone to failing? My phone's bootloader is locked but the apps are deodexed.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my Galaxy SII to official android 4.0.3 through Kies one month ago. Unfortunately, it often hang and finally cannot boot up again after my yesterday hard reboot. It stuck in the opening white logo "Samsung Galaxy SII".
So I used "download mode" and followed all the steps, including killing Kies, etc. to flash a new 4.0.3 through Odin. Everything seems working fine before I clicked "Start", e.g. yellow "ID:COM". Only boxes of "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" were ticked.
However, the installation process got stuck for over 5 hours now as follows:-
<ID:0/004> Added!!
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..[code]....
What should I do next?? It seems not appropriate to reboot my device at this moment, but seems no other choice......
I followed the effen manual to flash a new ROM for my HCT Desire HD on Monday, December 12th with absolute success. However, I have lost the start up sound file and when I boot my android, it boots in quiet mode. I searched for a solution and found many threads explaining how to disable it, but very little on how to enable it.
The problem is when I open my SDcard and look in the media/audio/notifications all I have is a facebook.mp3 file, I do not have any other files that would allow for the start up sound to open on boot.
Last week, I flashed my LG Nexus 4 (16GB) phone with stock Android 4.4 (Official Image), before that I was on CyanogenMod 10.1.3 Stable.
Now, for some reason I didn't like the stock 4.4 and tried to Flash back my CyanogenMod 10.1.3 from CWM "Install ZIP" but the problem I'm facing is that it CyanogenMod doesn't boot, hangs on "Spiral Splash Screen". Then I tried Flashing CM 10.0 stable, still loops into boot forever and at times boots (after 15-20 minutes of booting on spiral splash screen) and doesn't recognise SIM card, Camera, Storage, WIFI or anything.
Then after getting fed up with this I tried flashing MIUI V5. This also takes a 15-20 to boot and fails to recognise - SIM, WiFi, Camera etc.
So lastly like a loser I flashed back my Android 4.4 it works fine.
I've my boot-loader in unlocked state.
and Yes before flashing CM or MIUI, I did - wipe data/factory, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache from CWM Recovery.
So I want to get back into CyanogenMod 10.1 stable.
Rom Manager tells me "Goophone i5 does not have an officially supported ClockworkMod Recovery yet. Have you installed a ClockWorkMod recovery manually?"... If I say Yes it asks me to confirm Version 2.x or 3.x+. I don't know if a CWM was installed manually. What should I do?
I can't see a recovery file on the SD card.
I was wondering if i can flash kyapat10mod3 using sgs kernel flasher on my SC-02B (SC02BOMLL1)? is it possible? I don't want to brick my phone.

i have a ZTE (kis lite v790)..I've found ROMs for it but they are from other providers. the signed update.zip checks if your phone is from the right provider and exits if it doesn't match. All the rooting attempts on my phone have failed and if i edit the update.zipMETA-INFcomgoogleandroidupdater-script it fails the signature check.how on earth am i supposed to update my phone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI always have a problem when I want to flash a rom using cwm, yesterday, I tried to flash Jellaxy AOKP rom on my galaxy ace, but I had an error message saying: "can't flash rom.zip (bad)". Thought that the zip file was corrupted, so I tried to flash another rom: beats with smooth sense 6, the same problem occured. (Tried deleting clockworkmod floder from sd card).
My galaxy Ace is running under CM 7.2 with cwm recovery 5.0.2.6 . baseband:S5830XWKPA. kernel :the one that comes with cm.
Does flashing the ROM, removes the CWM ? Is CWM and ROM are inter related ? I'm using Xperia P and I installed CWM after alots of googling. Now planning to install MIUI in my Xperia P.

How do I get my Lucid into Diagnostic Mode??? I believe I know all the step to flash my phone, but I can't seem to get my phone into Diag Mode. What code do I need to do so??
What are the steps to flashing my phone over to PP using DFS Demo or QPST?
I followed the steps this guy took to flash his HTC Thunderbolt 4G over to PP, but it's not working for me, probably because I'm not in Diag Mode. The guy used CDMA Workshop, but I did the same steps using DFS. Anything I change and write to the phone never saves after I restart the phone. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have LK bootloader source code which I need to build and flash to a Nexus 5 device.
* I got the source code from the Code Aurora website
* I made a guess which branch is the stable branch I need, because I found no mention of it anywhere (I took "kk_2.7-stable", where kk means kitkat)
* On a Debian 7 stable machine, I installed a GCC cross compiler from Deb packages built using Emdebian tools
* I made a guess which target to compile, because the exact chip name didn't have its own: I use msm8960
* I created some symlinks to the cross-building tools because the makefile and the debian cross-building tool names are different
* I ran 'make msm8960' and the build was successful (I also tried earlier with NDK prebuilt GCC but it failed)
* I got a bunch of files with no idea what to do with them
* I attached the device to the computer and re-flashed the stock bootloader to make sure it works
* I checked the fastboot screen: Bootloader unlocked, secure boot is on
* I tried flashing the 'lk' binary file I got from the build process, but fastboot says:
sending 'bootloader' (1702 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.239s]
writing 'bootloader'...
FAILED (remote: invalid bootloader image
)
The size of the file is much smaller than the size of the stock bootloader, but I don't know if it matters or what exactly I need to flash. I did a lot of web search, including here on XDA, but found no evidence of struggling with flashing the bootloader.
How do I flash the bootloader after I build it?
I use MySms to get sms and send them from my tablet. I was using Miui on my phone before and it worked good but then I flashed AOKP on my phone and now I don't get messages to my tablet.
View 1 Replies View Relatedyou see apps on xda.. that are required to be flashed.. and are in the form of zip files. Now how are these different from apk files with their regular installation? is it something to do with giving these apps you flash a deeper level permission? if so.. if your rooted can't you just give those apps those permissions after a normal install?
