On my GNex running CM10 (stable release), I have Facebook notifications turned off completely. But twice today and yesterday my phone will vibrate and it comes up with a notification for Facebook..and all it does is open the app right to my newsfeed. I don't have any actual notifications in FB either.

I recently purchased my new Desire and although I love it, i've noticed two annoying faults! 1. When i send text messages to some contacts, the phone decides to send them not as an sms but as an email or sometime even an mms! 2. My voicemail notifications are being received under one of my Facebook contacts instead of just plain Vodafone! Very weird as my contacts list isnt set to display Facebook contacts even though its an option! Is anyone else having the same problem and been able to fix this? Im sure its just the settings that need to be changed but ive had a play and just cant seem to stop it happening!

If I swap to solely using mobile data after a conversation, I receive a string of notifications of all the messages I've just been sent in the conversation which is very frustrating.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDid a search, didn't find what I'm looking for. I have only one email account, a gmail account, set up on my Eris. I would have my Yahoo set up as well, but for some reason it says my account info is wrong. Anyway, I get 1 notification for each of the email systems in the phone. 1 seems to be through HTC or a widget or something, 1 is the gmail app or whatever it's called. I've only had this phone for 3 days, and I love it. If it's any help, I'd like to only use the htc one as the keyboard seems more responsive as far as the auto-correction goes, and the layout is more simple and easier for me to read.

I assume one notification is from the FB website and the second is from the FB App? Anyway, I temporarily deleted the FB App and second notifications stopped. View 1 Replies View RelatedFor awhile, my Facebook push notifications were working just fine until I had updated to Jelly Bean. I tried everything.. to clearing cache, data, uninstalling, and even the BlackBerry trick again (worked once before) and couldn't for the life of me figure out why they weren't working anymore. I thought maybe it was Facebook clashing with JB. I read everywhere and found out some people had no issues and some had some where every push notifications didn't work and some just Facebook.
Well I spend a day or so trying to figure it out and finally found a new, simple fix.
1) Open the Facebook app.
2) Tap on menu button on the top left
3) Account > Account Settings
4) Apps and Websites
5) Clear out Facebook related apps (Like Friendcaster or HTC Sense)
6) Clear data on the Facebook app and launch app
I noticed some off the apps in there have a push notification toggle button and I believe it was messing up the push notification system of there was to many to keep up with.
Once I spent 20 mins clearing those apps out, I cleared data and started the app notifications started working again. I didn't know it worked until someone wrote on my wall and I was shocked to see a notification!

There are several things I miss about iOS, and one of them is badge notifications without the need for a 3rd party app. Ideally, when I'm due a notification from Facebook, I want only a badge notification on the app's icon, like you do in iOS, and I'm getting that with "Missed it!" installed. However, I don't want an actual notification (via audible tone and indicator) in the notification bar. Is it possible to disable notifications via the notification bar, but still have it display a badge notification on the icon?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a new Droid Maxx. I downloaded the Facebook app, but the problem is that it places all of my Facebook direct messages (emails, not "likes" or comments) on the main pulldown screen (the one where you swipe from the top when the phone is open).
I don't want this. I'm not a huge Facebook user, and I only want to see that stuff when I directly log into Facebook. I tried unchecking the box in Settings > Active Notifications, but these notifications are still appearing. With the iPhone, it was easy to simply turn off push notifications, but I can't seem to find this on the Droid Maxx.
Is there a setting I'm missing that controls the content that appears on the pulldown menu? How can I stop this from happening?

First and foremost at random times my 3G is turned off even though I haven't turned it off...go into the setting and it says its still on. Only way to turn it back on is to turn it off and then turn it back on? Any ideas just a problem with the phone maybe. Didn't know if anyone has encountered this problem
Second is there and application that I can use that will let me select what things will startup with a reset of the phone? Also is there an easy way to reset the phone without a battery pull? I just like to do this when Unistalling apps and installing apps...always seems faster after downloading or Unistalling after I do this.
I have it set up to receive SMS notifications from a handful of my friends whenever they update their status, post something on my wall, etc. and it used to work perfectly on my Blackberry. I got the new EVO a couple of weeks ago and am no longer receiving them. Anyone else having this issue and if so, is there a fix?

Am i right in thinking that the phone should alert me to any post even when i am on the home screen (i.e. not in facebook app)?
when I get notifications from Facebook, it does the usual, notification bar, pull down, take me to the browser deal. Is there a way I can set it to take me to the touch site or the app instead? I prefer the interfaces on those better than the lackluster mobile site.

Back when the Evo first came out, it was possible to turn off the Sense UI and use the stock Android. This option was deleted after the first update. Does anyone know if the option has been restored with the Froyo update?

View 19 Replies View RelatedI haven't been using the Facebook app since the version 1.3.2 battery issue, but I've noticed that recently it's been updated to 1.4.1. So I thought I'd give it another try, and they seem to have fixed the battery issue which is great, but I'm now missing notifications (i.e. when you tap the blue bar at the bottom you get a list of comments people have made either after your comments, or on your photos and things). For example, this morning I had 8 notifications on the app, but when I checked the mobile site there were two that hadn't pushed through to the facebook app. Anyone else get this? I have the feeling I'm missing a really simple setting somewhere.

My Facebook app on my HTC Evo was working fine until about a week ago, when suddenly I started getting this error message:
"Cannot retrieve the notifications. Please try again later. [601/Parser Error: Unexpected "-" at position 64.]"
Any suggestions for a fix? I've tried logging out and back in, and I can't figure out how to reinstall the app (uninstall option isn't available on the app settings screen).
I have an htc hero and I love it, but have a couple questions. First, does anyone know if it is possible for the facebook app to have notifications or is it all through email?
Second, I was getting email notifications very quickly untill 2 days ago when they all stopped, and as of yesterday I could at least view new emails though I was not getting a notification, but now I'm not getting the new emails or the notification... what happened?
So my new incredible doesn't update like my blackberry did. I checked the settings and the notifications are selected, but nothing comes through. When I open the app and goto the home screen and then notifications, I have to force a refresh to see my responses, etc.
