I got the evo 4g lte and can't figure out how to remove facebook birthday notifications from lock screen.
How to sync contact info between the Facebook app, without having everyone's birthday clogging up my calendar.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there an independent app, or a configuration for the Facebook app, that gives a notification when someone's birthday is near or on? I have a Facebook account with a bunch contacts, but I rarely log onto Facebook, whether by computer or phone. That said, Facebook is the only place that consolidates all of the birthdays that I would otherwise not know. I know Facebook has an app that allows you to get birthday reminders within Facebook. But, is there a way to get the same reminder short of having to log on and browse my home page?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI use the HTC agenda on my Desire (2.2) and some birthdays of my facebook friend are synchronized, but more than half isn't. I tried hitting the sync button a few times, but it didn't work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm getting two duplicate Facebook notifications, one typically several minutes after first one. I'm using a Nexus 4 with the FB App installed. I assume one notification is from the FB website and the second is from the FB App? Anyway, I temporarily deleted the FB App and second notifications stopped. So how do I configure to receive just one notice, preferably the late arrival.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor awhile, my Facebook push notifications were working just fine until I had updated to Jelly Bean. I tried everything.. to clearing cache, data, uninstalling, and even the BlackBerry trick again (worked once before) and couldn't for the life of me figure out why they weren't working anymore. I thought maybe it was Facebook clashing with JB. I read everywhere and found out some people had no issues and some had some where every push notifications didn't work and some just Facebook.
Well I spend a day or so trying to figure it out and finally found a new, simple fix.
1) Open the Facebook app.
2) Tap on menu button on the top left
3) Account > Account Settings
4) Apps and Websites
5) Clear out Facebook related apps (Like Friendcaster or HTC Sense)
6) Clear data on the Facebook app and launch app
I noticed some off the apps in there have a push notification toggle button and I believe it was messing up the push notification system of there was to many to keep up with.
Once I spent 20 mins clearing those apps out, I cleared data and started the app notifications started working again. I didn't know it worked until someone wrote on my wall and I was shocked to see a notification!

On my GNex running CM10 (stable release), I have Facebook notifications turned off completely. But twice today and yesterday my phone will vibrate and it comes up with a notification for Facebook..and all it does is open the app right to my newsfeed. I don't have any actual notifications in FB either.

View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently chat through the native Facebook app has been disabled, and they're now refering to their 'facebook messenger' app. The only problem with that app is, that I'm not able to disable notifications. It only give me two options --> "An hour" or "Until 8 P.M"...
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt now comes installed with Facebook and i don't want another camera icon in my app drawer. I'm using touch wiz so using another launcher is out of the question. I've checked Tibu and it doesn't see it. I'm sure others would find this info useful as well.

I'm a longtime iPhone user (since 3G) who just switched to Android and the Galaxy Note 3 this week. There are several things I miss about iOS, and one of them is badge notifications without the need for a 3rd party app. Ideally, when I'm due a notification from Facebook, I want only a badge notification on the app's icon, like you do in iOS, and I'm getting that with "Missed it!" installed. However, I don't want an actual notification (via audible tone and indicator) in the notification bar. Is it possible to disable notifications via the notification bar, but still have it display a badge notification on the icon?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a new Droid Maxx. I downloaded the Facebook app, but the problem is that it places all of my Facebook direct messages (emails, not "likes" or comments) on the main pulldown screen (the one where you swipe from the top when the phone is open).
I don't want this. I'm not a huge Facebook user, and I only want to see that stuff when I directly log into Facebook. I tried unchecking the box in Settings > Active Notifications, but these notifications are still appearing. With the iPhone, it was easy to simply turn off push notifications, but I can't seem to find this on the Droid Maxx.
Is there a setting I'm missing that controls the content that appears on the pulldown menu? How can I stop this from happening?
How can i make it so i view my facebook notifications in my facebook app? I dont want to keep going in-between the facebook app and my browser to check every single one.

Because i'd like my friends birthdays to show up on my calendar but i don't look at my contacts often. I also don't have facebook. View 7 Replies View RelatedI added BatteryTime to one of my home screens and it asked if I wanted to display the % in the notifications to which I said OK to (it displays in the ongoing notifications and stays displayed in the top left corner of the phone). But now I'd like to remove it from there. I cant find this in the settings? I tried removing the program from the home screen, then re-adding it, but it didn't give me the options like I was displayed initially. Any ideas?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have it set up to receive SMS notifications from a handful of my friends whenever they update their status, post something on my wall, etc. and it used to work perfectly on my Blackberry. I got the new EVO a couple of weeks ago and am no longer receiving them. Anyone else having this issue and if so, is there a fix?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got the Droid 2 a couple days ago, and I was wondering if the face book app notified you of wall posts, comments, likes...etc.? Because mine only does for Messages. I hope nobody else has asked this question, but I would really appreciate the feedback.
View 6 Replies View RelatedHow do I get notified when I have a new facebook message? I don't seem to be getting any, but when I use the Facebook app, I can see new messages. I'm coming from a BB Curve where I got actual facebook message notifications when I had a new message or someone replied to a thread that I had commented in. Does Android not do that?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI find the facebook App really poor. I don't seem to be getting notifactions when i get a message or someone posts on my wall.
I have checked the settings and i have ticked all the options but nothing.
Am i right in thinking that the phone should alert me to any post even when i am on the home screen (i.e. not in facebook app)?
when I get notifications from Facebook, it does the usual, notification bar, pull down, take me to the browser deal. Is there a way I can set it to take me to the touch site or the app instead? I prefer the interfaces on those better than the lackluster mobile site.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThat's pretty much all I want to know. I have no constructive input (save for that the release of the SDK may herald a new era of notifications for facebook :P), but just wanted to complain. That is all.
View 18 Replies View RelatedHow do I get my facebook notifications go through the app rather than emailing me? On my BB, the notifications would go through the app and not email messages. Is this a possible fix?
I switched over from a Blackberry Tour (speaking of FAIL) to an old used OG Droid. Had it 1 day and already really loving it. Running Android 2.2 (Froyo? - I'm better with #s than names)
I've cleared the notifications several times, yet when I restart my X10 I keep getting one that says I missed a call. The call was missed 3 days ago. I just can't figure out how to remove it permanently.

One of the things that bugs me tho, (coming from the iPhone which had that ability) is that the Facebook app, don't show any notifications, and that is something I'd really want. I've tried searching the forum, but couldn't find anything use full. cam out really be true that I can't get any app's which can show me notifications from face book?
