My dad's phone is running Android 2.3.5.
He uses a Hotmail address.
If he:Downloads the e-mails on his phone, thenDeletes an e-mail via. the website (mail.live.co.uk) ... the deleted e-mails doesn't disappear from his phone in the Email app.
This means he now has 500+ e-mails in the app when there are only around 50 in his inbox.

I have an Android 4.0 tablet, set up email and when I delete some - put them in the trash, and them empty the trash, they're still there when I look in that folder again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday when i woke up none of my e-mails synced overnight, nothing on my work account(exchange) and 3 verizon accounts. I didn't change the settings. I can manually sync by touching the sync button at the bottom of the e-mail screen but nothing is updating automatically, and when i do i do nothing pops up in the notification bar up at the top to let me know new mail has arrived?

Outlook is set to leave them on the server for 5 days, so if it beats my phone to an email, it is on the server for the phone to grab.
I need to store my emails ON THE PHONE after they are fetched from the server. I need to go back and look at emails 6-12 months, even when I have no cell coverage. I had set "recent messages" option on the android to "total" and that appeared to be saving them on the phone,,
For some reason I had 3000 emails on my server (6 months worth) and when I deleted them,, they disappeared from my phone !! Gone! I went to the email settings on the phone, and noticed that "sync email" was checked, I unchecked that, but then did not receive any new emails.
How do I set an Android phone to just download the email from the server and leave it on the phone,, end of story. just download new emails to my phone. If I delete it on the server it does not affect my phone and vise versa. Preferably storing it on my sd card.
I just loaded the Android Update on my tablet. Why when I opened my email file all of my emails were removed from the emial file. where did they go?

And I want to transfer all my phone contacts across. On my Xperia, I've got "Phone contacts", and gmail contacts. I tried to import all my phone contacts by first exporting them to a simgle file, and transferring that file to the Samsung. And now I've got this vast list containing, it seems, everybody who I've ever called or emailed, including various names who I don't recognize at all. Is there any way (maybe a specialized app) of keeping my phone contacts and gmail contacts separate? And how do I manage my vast list of contacts?

While looking through the AnyCut Activities shortcuts, I found one that led to Setup Wizard. This activity opens up the setup you interfaced at the beginning. So, if for some reason you want to change the email account you want sync-ed with your phone, just make that shortcut and you're off!

Anytime I click it it gives me an authentication error and asks me to sign into it, which I can't do of course, becauseit no longer exists. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just noticed for the past few days, my Incredible has been deleting my email off of my pop server account after I delete it (from Trash) out of the phone. Before you say anything, I have "Delete Email on Server" unchecked from the settings. So I checked it, shut off the phone, unchecked it and then sent a few test emails.
With it checked, it does delete my email after I delete it off of the phone - obviously. Unchecking it, sending test email and deleting it still deletes If off my POP Server. I am a little frustrated because I realized about 4 days of emails have been deleted, although I have copies of them on one computer. I know it didn't do this out of the box, only recently.
Last night I recieved a text from AT&T telling me I have a software update and that I need to press "OK". Once the pop up showed I pressed "OK" and it downloaded the software and then the phone restarted. Now when I recieve e-mails, I do not get a notification to my cell phone. I have to press the Gmail icon and then refresh my email account to get the new emails. How do I go about fixing this? Its a Samsung Captivate.

I really don't know why it deletes them when I press refresh, today I lost an important email from virgin media. It seems to do this a lot.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently purchased a Samsung Nexus S. The stock email client (not the GMail app), using POP3 will delete mails once they have been downloaded, or when I next sync. Occasionally it will not delete all mails, just some. The option to delete from the server is not ticked and no other clients are pulling from the server, so its not the case that another app is deleting them. To confirm, emails aren't being deleted after say 10 days, they are being deleted within minutes, and I'm only downloading a handful of mails.

The problem is, only the E-Mail Icon for collected E-mail accounts shows the total number of "unread" Mails for all accounts, if I add for each account a seperate E-mail icon no number for unread Mails is visible for that account.
How can I configure the Mail app for each account with each icon, so that it shows me the number of unread messages for that specific -E-mail account.
I thought that I had my email all sorted but apparently not! I have my email synced with my hotmail account but somehow it is picking up ALL emails from my hotmail account even the ones which I have deleted and cannot read anymore if I go online into Hotmail! How can I fix this?!

View 4 Replies View RelatedGot my Hero almost on release date from Orange Uk. I am well happy with it especially after the ROM update (official Orange one from HTC). I suffered from the missing SMS problem thats mentioned in another thread on here but I installed SMS2mailbox and that seems to be sorted now. I don't use my gmail account as my main email account I use my ISP which is Sky. I have a strange hit and miss problem with the POP mailbox and I wondered if anyone else suffers from it or knows a fix.
I have the email account setup on the Hero and it shows mail in my mailbox no problem, the issue I have is that it randomly deletes mails from my POP server and only keeps the copy on the phone. Heres an example. I get sent 5 emails in a day while I am at work. I check my Hero mail app and it shows them all. When I get home I open my Outlook client on my PC and only 4 emails come down. I can check on the phone and it still displays the 5. First I thought it was a phone setting but the 'Delete Mail on Server' is definitely set to off. This happened before and after the ROM update. I wonder if it is peculiar to Skys mail servers.
I'm having an issue with deleting emails from the generic email client on Android 1.5. I use the gmail app for dedicated gmail stuff, works like a dream. However, my uni email address (IMAP) using the normal 'email' app is a different story. It will receive emails no problem, but if I delete them they disappear for 2 seconds, then reappear in the inbox again (in the same place) with a line through them, they don't even move into the trash folder. However, what does happen is that they disappear off my webmail server. Is there a way of actually removing something from the inbox once it's been received, or is it there forever? It's a LG Gw620 (eve/intouch max) running android 1.5.

But later on in the day they will reapear. I understand thats because they are still on my isp's server, so i guess they will keep on loading untill i delete them at home? how can i select all of the items in trash at once to delete them faster.
