I have had my incredible for about a week and have my yahoo and hotmail set up. My problem is when I 'delete' messages from these accounts the same messages appear again when the accounts refresh. Is there something I've done wrong in the setup?

I'm having an issue with deleting emails from the generic email client on Android 1.5. I use the gmail app for dedicated gmail stuff, works like a dream. However, my uni email address (IMAP) using the normal 'email' app is a different story. It will receive emails no problem, but if I delete them they disappear for 2 seconds, then reappear in the inbox again (in the same place) with a line through them, they don't even move into the trash folder. However, what does happen is that they disappear off my webmail server. Is there a way of actually removing something from the inbox once it's been received, or is it there forever? It's a LG Gw620 (eve/intouch max) running android 1.5.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm sure this may have been discussed or gone over but i seriously have no time right now to search for answers, I'm lucky i have time to post this thread but Ive been wanting to do it and get answers.
First off, i love the phone however there are some issues Ive come across.
(1) Deleting multiple messages/emails, can the emails/msgs just be selected (highlighted) all at once and deleted? its very very tedious to delete each and every one individually.
(2) While I'm talking about deleting emails, Ive come across an issue where some emails delete but then reappear, kept trying to delete them and they kept reappearing, whats going on here?
(3) My address book is a mess, it somehow has facebook people added into all my other numbers, anyway to undo all that somehow?
(4) Clock --- Is there a app to have the clock displayed sideways while i sleep? i have the verizon belt clip and turning it so the phone lays sideways on table works perfectly BUT the clock doesn't display sideways, isn't that horrible!?
(5) How do you refresh a browser page?
(6) Voice Dialing --- I use a Blue Parrot Bluetooth, the phone is not recognizing when i push the button on the parrot to voice dial someone, or isn't this phone capable of voice dialing? The blue parrot worked great on my blackberry.
Thats all i can think of right now, I'm sure most of them can be answered.
If I delete a calendar entry on my Droid X, it reappears after the calendar syncs with Gmail. How to correct this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is my first android powered phone ever. I just migrated from a crackberry and I do love the phone, it just irritates the holy moses out of me. Its a Samsung S4.
The phone has this nasty habit of not deleting my files that I want to delete. I am talking about photos here. old crap photos that I dont want anymore or that are somewhat inappropriate as I use my phone for business but they constantly reappear on my phone. I have no idea where they are hidden or go and then come back from. I have even taken the SD card out of the phone and deleted them off there only to find them back on. I had SYNC completely disabled but that is also not an option as I have lost work due to emails not getting to me in time, silly damn phone.. So how in the world does one permanently delete the photos of the phone and why do they keep on popping back up after being deleted? Especially if you use the rapid shoot mode, i dont want to keep all the bad ones but after I delete them they reappear.
I have 3 emails I check on my Incredible, all are pop 3 accounts, is there anyway to make or set up a folder or 2 for saved emails.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just noticed for the past few days, my Incredible has been deleting my email off of my pop server account after I delete it (from Trash) out of the phone. Before you say anything, I have "Delete Email on Server" unchecked from the settings. So I checked it, shut off the phone, unchecked it and then sent a few test emails.
With it checked, it does delete my email after I delete it off of the phone - obviously. Unchecking it, sending test email and deleting it still deletes If off my POP Server. I am a little frustrated because I realized about 4 days of emails have been deleted, although I have copies of them on one computer. I know it didn't do this out of the box, only recently.
So is it just me or is there not simply 1 email folder to check emails from multiple accounts? I had it on the Moto Droid, but cannot seem to find it on the Inc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've used IOS for a while and wanted to try something different. That being the case I bought a google nexus 7 to play around with it. I have 2 google+ accounts set up on this phone because I play a game called Clash of Clans. I had to link both my IOS accounts over to 2 google play accounts. Now when I connect via Wi-Fi anywhere, it downloads the emails from both accounts. Is there a way for only allow for one of them to download? I'm not too familiar with this new operating system, so maybe I'm just not looking in the right spot.

View 4 Replies View RelatedGot my Hero almost on release date from Orange Uk. I am well happy with it especially after the ROM update (official Orange one from HTC). I suffered from the missing SMS problem thats mentioned in another thread on here but I installed SMS2mailbox and that seems to be sorted now. I don't use my gmail account as my main email account I use my ISP which is Sky. I have a strange hit and miss problem with the POP mailbox and I wondered if anyone else suffers from it or knows a fix.
I have the email account setup on the Hero and it shows mail in my mailbox no problem, the issue I have is that it randomly deletes mails from my POP server and only keeps the copy on the phone. Heres an example. I get sent 5 emails in a day while I am at work. I check my Hero mail app and it shows them all. When I get home I open my Outlook client on my PC and only 4 emails come down. I can check on the phone and it still displays the 5. First I thought it was a phone setting but the 'Delete Mail on Server' is definitely set to off. This happened before and after the ROM update. I wonder if it is peculiar to Skys mail servers.
My dad's phone is running Android 2.3.5.
He uses a Hotmail address.
If he:Downloads the e-mails on his phone, thenDeletes an e-mail via. the website (mail.live.co.uk) ... the deleted e-mails doesn't disappear from his phone in the Email app.
This means he now has 500+ e-mails in the app when there are only around 50 in his inbox.
I have Google and Roger email account set up on my phone. Is there a way to stop receiving spam emails when retrieving email from these accounts?

I have the ArrayAdapter of the ListView in the Same Activity Class.
Now the Issue I'am facing is that, in Rest all scenarios my Activity is behaving in a proper way but when the Orientation [ Portrait to Landscaped or other way round] is taking place the Data is Getting lost and Newer Data calls are Required to Populate the Same Old Data now this is something that is not intended out the code how should I deal with it.
I need to do an internet access to update a field on my UI. I do the internet access in a background thread by extending AsyncTask.
Since I need to update my UI every time the screen is refreshed I am executing the AsyncTask in my onResume method. code...
I dismiss the REFRESH_DIALOG dialog in the onPostExecute() method in the AsyncTask.
For testing I rotate the screen to landscape. Things work well. The problem is when I try to rotate again to portrait. I get 'java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: no dialog with id 1 was ever shown ...'. id 1 is for the REFRESH_DIALOG.
How do I get rid of this error? Is there a better way to do an Internet access to update my UI every time the screen is refreshed?
I am using Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro with 1.6 firmware very recently purchased, As i dont have the android market icon, i just done Factory Reset to my handset and after that i noticed that my contacts in the phone book gets errased whenever i switch off my mobile and again switch on my phone book contacts are completely erased..... again i need to restore it from Back up and Restore application which is present defaultly.
So everytime I am Restoring my contacts and again it gets refreshed. I even reinstalled my OS android 1.6 (as 2.1 notification i didn't get) even after reinstalling i am facing the same problem no contacts on my phone book.
Is there any solutions for this ..........? you all guys knows very well that if there is a problem with phone book (contacts) how hectic it is......... no use of using mobiles then......... i am missing the important contacts everytime.
so everytime i am doing back up and doing restoring........ I dont use any synchornized apps.... i use the "Back up & Restore" application which came along with my mobile and I haven't installed any new apps till now....

Actually before doing Factory Reset the phone book worked fine no refreshments of contacts happened.
I have a list which shows data from a database using a cursor adapter. Using Menu option I am updating my database (inserting more rows deleting existing rows). When Menu operation completes, I want contents of list should show updated contents.
I have tried using cursor.requery(); (or explicitly querying cursor again) and using adapter.notifydatasetchanged(), but with this list of contents are not updated.
How can I refresh the contents of the list.
I received a notification with a web-link and as part of the notification there was a confirmation number.
So I clicked the link right from the notification and Dolphin opened to the site. When I needed to enter the confirmation number, and my "notification area" was now cleared out. How can I recall this notification to get the number?
I never explicitly cleared the notification, I just navigated from it and when I tried to go back it was gone.
On Saturday evening, I went to look up a score and found my Droid's homescreens wiped clean. I mean nothing was there. Folders, shortcuts, widgets, all gone. Nothing but my background. I thought I hit some reset or a magic delete function. After a few minutes of befuddlement, I cycled the power. Lo and behold, everything was back. Now, I'm very patient with glitches, so I didn't really think anything about it. Until this morning, when buddy texts me having the same exact problem. I advised him to reboot. Screens came back So I'm not hearing anything about update pushes, so I've gotta ask if anyone else saw this bizarre behavior in the past 24 hours.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt seems that 2.2 locks google talk into the first google account you sign up with.I thought on 2.1 I could sign in to the account I wanted to use, however it appears that's not the case now.I use gmail (for google checkout) however my main "google" account is an apps account.So I believe for the market to be associated correctly with my gmail account, that one needs to be created first.Any way to get google talk to use my apps account, or any way to play with the accounts (create, clear/remove, re-add) to get them setup so the market works with my gmail account but gtalk uses my apps account?
