I think I'm going in the reverse direction of most people here, but my lapper hard drive died and took my itunes library with it. However, I have a backup of the music and playlists to Google Music and I'm using the Music Manager software to download my library back to my new PC.
My question is this...how can I get my Google Music playlists download to my PC and then synced to my new iTunes?

What is the best way to sync iTunes music? I've been using DoubleTwist but it is just not working these days (especially after ICS update). I sync it and sync it and Playlists never appear. So I need something else. I'm mostly concerned about a Smart Playlist I have for podcasts, which would not sync with Google Play. So frustrating dealing with Doubletwist. I have Droid Bionic.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have an iPhone 4S and I am probably going to get a Galaxy Note 2 when it comes out for Verizon. In order to prepare for this, I set up Google Play Music to upload my music so it can be ready for me when I get my new phone (I like it better than Samsung's default music player). Only one problem: protected AAC files (or DRM) can't be transferred to Play Music. I tried converting my music with 2 different DRM converters, but they were free trials, and it only would convert 1:00 of each song and then stop. Is there any free way to convert each protected song completely, along with protected videos? Also, does music on Play Music eat up an Android device's space? I have over 12 GB of music and movies and I don't want to have barely any any space left on a 16 GB device if a 32 or 64 GB ever comes out, minus the SD card.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that despite having only four or five playlists on Google Music (desktop) my phone shows a bunch - mostly ones from albums I've downloaded. They don't show up in the browser version on my desktop so it looks like the only way to get rid of them is to manually delete every single one via the phone app.
Also, I've noticed that when I switch the settings to "on device only" my playlists created on the web page no longer show up, despite me having the majority of the songs on my microSD. I remember I used to be able to switch to "on device only" and the cloud playlist would scale down to only what I had on local storage. Was so....logical! Is there any way I can still do this? My microSD music is pretty much pointless since I don't have access to the playlists when I'm using "on device only".
I have downloaded all of my music onto my phone because streaming it out of the cloud used about a gig in 3 days. One of the issues is that I could not find a way to download the playlists I had created in google music onto the phone. So, I created playlists on my phone, made sure all of my music was set to be on the device. As soon as I made a playlist on my phone it immediately began downloading those songs out of the cloud.

I've done a little research on this, with no luck. Basically Does anyone know if Google is planning on, or is already working on a music management app (like iTunes). I use iTunes to sync up my iPod and manage play lists. I would LOVE to be able to use a Google product to manage play lists and sync songs to my Hero. If Google is not planning on this, is there a third party app which can be used to sync my Hero to iTunes?

At first I was just dragging and dropping the files, which works fine, except there are no playlists. I tried salling mediasync, it copied the songs, but not any playlists. I also get about half of the songs that won't play and message "unable to play files of this type" on the phone. So, is there a streamlined way to copy playlists from itunes to the incredible without downloading 2-3 different applications?

It looks as though it's only allowing me to add music without any playlists??? Am I doing something wrong? Or missing something? So far I have had no luck with FREE programs to allow me to sync my iTunes playlist with my Evo. It's becoming very frustrating. I thought that it was going to be an easy and FAST process to sync my music but it's more of a pain in my arse! I have tried DoubleTwist which is crap. IMO, it never recognizes my device and takes hours, or at least it seems to actually sync my device, when of course it actually recognizes it. I wasn't planning on spending any money on a program but looks like I may have to since I want to keep iTunes as my media player on my laptop. This is one thing I miss about my iPhone. It was soooo simple to sync my music and playlists.

I've tried a lot of things and every one of them just transfers over the songs from the playlist and not the actual playlist. I really like the Music Player Samsung has and I want to use that one, but nothing seems to transfer playlists to it. I've tried doubletwist (only transfers the music, not the playlists), iTunes agent, (same) dazzboard (doesn't work at all), and songbird (so buggy and slow, impossible to use... gave up) There has to be some way to get that player to work with iTunes or to import everything from iTunes and use it with the Samsung Music Player.

I don't know if these auto playlists will go away after some time by themselves, but if not, do any of you know how to delete the playlist?
Btw, I used iSyncr to transfer my music from Mac to phone, and I didn't have that playlist before.

I've been having some playlist issues... I've got one that I made and one that keeps reappearing, that I started to make at some point but lost (or, thought I lost). I can delete it, but it will come back eventually. Also, is there an easier way to edit playlists than within the music apps? e.g. on the computer, in a text editor or something?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to transfer some iTunes music files over to my Galaxy S2. I've done this before but can't figure what I did to make it happen again.
I'm pretty sure that last time I did this I just connected the Galaxy to the iMac using a regular USB cable which then showed up on the background of the Mac as a media device. I then just clicked on the music I wanted to transfer in iTunes and dragged that over to the device. Simple as. Now however, when I connect the phone to the Mac it doesn't show up at all. On the phone itself it says "connected as a media device" but as I say, no sign of it on the Mac. I've tried several different cables and USB ports with same result.
I desperately need an app that syncs podcasts (as well as music) between my S3 and iTunes. I hate it when I listen to a new podcast on my phone then get back to my pc to start a new one but can't remember which ones I've listened to. I also use a mac, and I'm in Canada (so I can't take full advantage of the google music service, I.E. storing music in the cloud and managing it that way. In order to put music on my android phone i simply select the songs in my itunes and and drag them into the music folder in Android File Transfer. This works, however, there is one problem: the songs aren't organized into folders, which makes it extremely difficult to organize / delete music from my phone when I want to, as the songs are organized as 01 01 01 01 01 01 02 02 02 02 02 02 03 03 03 03 etc. I tried to right click the music folder and say new folder but it won't create that folder in the music folder. I tried moving the songs into that folder then dragging it into the music folder but that won't work.
I really don't want to use double twist, because I have in the past, and I don't really like it all that much. I just want my files to be organized into folders so that when I can delete them later when I want to.
I have tried the stock player, Doubletwist, 3cube music players and methods to get music and playlists onto my EVO. Doubletwist was the only one that worked but it is too slow! It takes almost an hour to sync 500 mb's of music to the phone! I tried itunesmywalkman and that was just as bad! The end result is I just want to be able to put my playlists from iTunes on and off my EVO and have a GOOD music app actually read and populate my playlists! I'm pretty tech savvy and I can't figure this out! BTW, i'm using an iMac and I have over 40,000 songs.

About 2 or 3 weeks ago the Music app just stopped reading playlists right. Music can see all the play lists, it just can't find any of the songs. All the files are still there, and oddly, double twist can still read the play lists fine, and get to music. Has anyone run into this, or had any ideas on what could be causing it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been working at adding music, and installed iSync to pull playlists and tracks from iTunes (other computer software is not an option as the wife LOVES iTunes and her iPod.)Than being said, the iSync program is easy-to-use and nice, but I'm finding that the EVO's music app is taking its own sweet time to recognize the tracks from the SD card.I can wait, but my fear is that it will need to do this each time I launch the app?
