View 1 RepliesOn my htc i was looking through display, i see g sensor calibration and i perform this calibration and after i do so the screen seems to have a delay when switch from the horizontal position to the vertical position. its weird because when i switch to the phone horizontally it switch normally and responds fast. but when i switch back to vertically it takes almost 7 seconds to actually switch back, sometimes it switch within 2 or 3 secs but never as quick as switching horizontally.

If you're already updated, shut down and repower (soft reboot) should do the trick. I actually updated my phone and after it started to do this. I restarted the phone plenty of times i even took the battery out for 30 seconds. It only does it when im texting on the browser, basically everything but the camera. He camera screen rotation is perfect. I even rooted the phone but i havent figured out how to use the root to fix the problem. Should i do a firmware update? Because i just did the htc software update.
The only notification light I am seeing is the trackball glowing every 10 seconds. The spec sheet makes it seem like the led above the screen is also supposed to be used for notification ala my G1. I tested it using sms and email and the notification ringt one rings but then no flashing led, just the pulsing white trackball every 10 seconds. One thing I really liked on my G1 was seeing the notification led's and being able to tell if it's an email, missed call, or sms by the color of the led flashing. Is anyone else's led notifying them? Oh, and my led isn't broken. When I plug it in to charge it's orange and turns green when finished charging.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe closest example of what i want to accomplish is the "Engadget" widget. It updates it's data from the internet every 5-10 minutes and "scrolls" to the stories every 5-7 seconds. I imagine it sets the 5 -10 minutes interval to the widget's provider to call the onUpdate without the inbuild limitations , something like that. AlarmManager alarms = (AlarmManager) getApplicationContext().getSystemService(Context.ALARM_SERVICE); alarms.setRepeating(AlarmManager.ELAPSED_REALTIME, SystemClock.elapsedRealtime(), updateRateSeconds * 1000, newPending);
Then the real issue.. to update the widgets content without calling onUpdate....................
I'm using traceview to identify bottlenecks in my app. If I use the emulator, everything works fine. But when the device is used, no matter how long I run the app, traceview only gets the initial 5 seconds of my session and nothing more. I also noticed an error message in the console: Traceview: (<unknown>:10301): GLib-WARNING **: g_set_prgname() called multiple times. Have you ever experienced this problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedTo be able to do some accurate calculations that I want for my app, I need to be able to get an accelerometer reading every 100ms. I haven't found a way to do this on android, it seems like the only way to get accelerometer readings is to put a listener that can listen at different intervals. Basically, is there a way to get a reading at exact intervals?
View 2 Replies View RelatedBy the time the phone rings, it takes 12 seconds for the phone to go to vmail (both gvoice and vzw vmail) WHen I call my droid from the eris, it takes 25 seconds, from droid (well any phone for that matter) it takes 12 seconds... on top of the the phone doesn't ring until the 2nd ring or so (like my previous thread) this gives me about 8 seconds to pick up the phone.something isn't right here. I'm almost ready to assume this is a VZW problem, am I correct?(my 2nd try when the screen was off, and phone on sleep, it went to vmail in about 9-10 seconds after the eris started to ring)

My HTC One's screen is timing out after about 5 seconds. By timeout, I mean going black and I have to unlock the phone to get back to where I was.
Initially, I removed Battery Doctor and I thought this solved the problem, but the issue it returned. Occasionally, usually after I've uninstalled something, it goes back to around 15 seconds, leading me to believe I solved the issue, but then issue returns.
I've gone through the following motions:
Settings > Security > Lock phone after - set to 3 minutes
Settings > Display, gestures & buttons is > Sleep - set to 15 seconds.
Over the weekend I restored my phone completely, which appeared to work at first, but now it's back to timing out abruptly.
As I've typed out this message, it was constantly timing out, then in the middle it did stay awake several times for about 5 seconds, then dimmed, but still stayed on for around 10 more seconds before blacking out.

Sometimes my Hero is so slow. I receive a text, with the icon in the notification bar. I slide it down but it can take 10-20 seconds for the message to load. Then I try and type a reply and it is so frustratingly slow, lagging behind. Any tips please? I have been so close to throwing it out of the window!
View 24 Replies View RelatedI set my screen time out to 30 seconds and..it's been 30 seconds my screen is not timing out. This can be REALLY annoying when I forget to push the power button and just put the phone in my pocket and the battery drains.
I called verizon about this yesterday they had me turn my phone off and back on and then it did time out. Today I tried the same thing and it's not timing out..
The phone is brand new, only 3 days old has not been dropped or anything.
When I want to record a video its saying I can record for about 1 minute 20 seconds. This is on HD 720p quality. I know its the highest setting but I should be able to record longer than this shouldn't I? I have 5.91 GB left of free space so just wondering if anyone has any ideas? The phone storage thats left is 1.01 GB. Could it be that its trying to save to the phone instead of the memory card, and if so how do I change that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently upgraded my xperia x10 to Android 2.1.The upgrade installed fine but am unable to speak on calls for more than a few seconds since then. Few seconds after a call is connected (while receiving or making) it crashes and the phone shows no network (there is no network coverage issue) and searches for the SD card (similar to at the time of boot). The screen then goes blue.Have tried re-installing the upgrade but that doesn't solve the problem. Anybody has any ideas.

This is weird and hopefully only a Moto Droid or local tower problem.
There is a difference of 15 seconds between my Droid's idea of time and UTC/GMT. This supposedly can't happen as cellular communications rely on 10ms accuracy and the Droid internal clock is set by cell towers.
I'm looking for some other Moto Droid developers to take a look and report if there is any time offset in their area. I've written a test app and posted source and apk at http://a9k.net/#droid . There is a screen shot there. It's very basic - show internal time (both System.currentTimeMillis() and Calendar.getInstance()) and show web page at www.time.gov.
Another simple test is to compare the phone's time to a computer that is synchronized to a net time server. You'll need to check seconds or watch for a whole minute. The minutes will not be equal from 45-59 seconds UTC.
The repercussions of an error in setting the internal clock could be extensive. Then again maybe Verizon towers here are whacko in MT?
I just got a Nexus One, which I like a *lot* (reformed iPhone user here). The only thing I can't stand is that the keyboard often takes as long as 30 seconds to appear when I touch the text entry field to reply to a text. Has anyone else experienced this? Any guidance/suggestions?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a quick question about the AMOLED Screen the Incredible uses. I noticed that if you have for example white text on a black background for an extended period of time and go to a full black screen you can still see the ghosting of the text like it has been temporarily burned into the screen. It goes away after a couple of seconds. But I'm worried a display on for too long could result in a more permanent burn. Could this be a case of burning or is it just the way the screen refreshes? As I am not too familiar with the AMOLED Screen. Hopefully some of you more screen technology savy people may know what's going on. And hopefully this will be helpful to others as I couldn't find any other thread relating to this. Thank you in advance.
