View 3 RepliesI have been having a problem with my HTC One phone since I got it. My 4G connection will stay connected for about 30 seconds to a minute, and then it will revert back to 3G. I have already looked this up before and I have done the following:
-Changing my network mode setting to "LTE/CDMA", and then restarting the phone
-Making sure all recent updates have been installed
-Making sure my plan was actually eligible to connect to 4G (it is)
-Making sure there is 4G coverage in my area (again, it is)
-Always leaving "Automatic Connections" on
Has anyone else had this issue or knows a fix? I want my screen timeout to be 2 minutes. When i go to the Display options I unclick the button for 30 seconds, click 2 minutes, then exit. A little while later the screen goes off and I go back to the Display settings and it is back at 30 seconds again. It does not seem to go to the value I want but goes back to 30 seconds each time.size limitation on email on a Verizon Droid?
View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday (08/08/10) my X10 said there was a new update available and to download correctly I needed to connect it to a computer update through PC Companion 2.0. I did this and followed all the on screen instructions correctly. I got to the final stage and it asked me to disconnect the phone switch it off remove the battery, reinsert and then turn it back on again. The instructions said it may take awhile for the phone to come back on again because the phone will be updating. So far my phone has not come back on again after 24 hours of waiting, all that happens is the sony ericsson logo is displayed for about 10 seconds and then the phone turns off then the same process is repeated. Any ideas whats happened or what I can do to fix this or will it be a job for Sony? I have emailed them but of course they were absolutly no help what so ever.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo at school i was charging my phone on the PC there. All of a sudden my phone turns off. I try to turn it back on and it does turn on. It shows the Motorola logo for a few seconds and turns back off. I went home that day and used by default charger and charged it. It showed the green light. The phone turned on and did the same thing, it shows the Motorola logo for a few seconds and turns back off and if i leave it the process repeats. The green light also flashes a few times. When i press both the volume up and down at the same time, it shows options to either normal powerup, recovery, fastboot, factory and tools. I tried normal powerup, recovery and factory but it would just turn on showing the motorola logo for a few seconds and turn back of.When i unplug the phone and try to turn it on, it wont work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy new Desire was delivered Monday evening. It is on the 3 network. Have a great signal at home - H.
Took it to work for the first time yesterday and had a great signal in my office too. I'm also getting H there most of the time, occasionally it drops to 3G but only for a few seconds then goes back to H. Internet browsing is fast and smooth.
So far so good then, I went downstairs however and noticed that I had no signal. How can it go from the strongest possible signal upstairs to no signal at all downstairs?
The default setting for this is 15 seconds, and i changed it to be 1 minute. Randomly it sets itself back to 15 seconds (maybe after powering phone off).

View 6 Replies View RelatedThis is a HUGE problem!
During a call, when I put the phone by my left ear, my ear and/or my cheek touch the screen, and though one would expect the buttons on the touch screen to be disabled during a call, when held against the ear and the face, I keep accidentally hanging up calls or in some other occasions, muting, having frustrated monologues to myself, thinking that the other person is ignoring me...
I mentioned using the left ear, because, it seems to have always happened when I held the phone by my left ear and not when I held it by my right ear.
I'm trying to find a more elegant solution, as dropping numerous calls is not an option. (today I dropped more than 15 calls). Any suggestions?
This is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.
My HTC One's screen is timing out after about 5 seconds. By timeout, I mean going black and I have to unlock the phone to get back to where I was.
Initially, I removed Battery Doctor and I thought this solved the problem, but the issue it returned. Occasionally, usually after I've uninstalled something, it goes back to around 15 seconds, leading me to believe I solved the issue, but then issue returns.
I've gone through the following motions:
Settings > Security > Lock phone after - set to 3 minutes
Settings > Display, gestures & buttons is > Sleep - set to 15 seconds.
Over the weekend I restored my phone completely, which appeared to work at first, but now it's back to timing out abruptly.
As I've typed out this message, it was constantly timing out, then in the middle it did stay awake several times for about 5 seconds, then dimmed, but still stayed on for around 10 more seconds before blacking out.

I would like to ask if it is possible to make app that would run on background and would change time on my device every few seconds. Lets say every 5 seconds change time by 3 hours (forward).
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe goal is to be able to change small things in some apps. For example, there is an app called SnapChat which allows you to send a picture for 3 seconds and then closes the picture. In this scenario, I would like to be able to edit the .apk file to allow to stay for 4 seconds.

View 9 Replies View RelatedBy the time the phone rings, it takes 12 seconds for the phone to go to vmail (both gvoice and vzw vmail) WHen I call my droid from the eris, it takes 25 seconds, from droid (well any phone for that matter) it takes 12 seconds... on top of the the phone doesn't ring until the 2nd ring or so (like my previous thread) this gives me about 8 seconds to pick up the phone.something isn't right here. I'm almost ready to assume this is a VZW problem, am I correct?(my 2nd try when the screen was off, and phone on sleep, it went to vmail in about 9-10 seconds after the eris started to ring)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased a 2nd hand 16gb Tabtech M7 Tablet off ebay. Its running Android 3.0.
Its in great condition but it has 1 problem. When I turn on wireless it turns itself off after a few seconds. It doesn't even turn on long enough to make a list of nearby wireless networks. I've tried a full factory reset several times and this hasn't worked. The factory reset only takes about 2 seconds which doesn't seem very long so I'm not 100% sure that the factory reset is working properly.
My phone will not stay on at all. It will keep restarting unless plugged up to a charger or computer. It will just keep doing that every five seconds I have a galaxy s2 skyrocket.

About 1 out of every 3 times that I take a picture, my rooted Samsung Droid Charge turns itself off completely, and will not turn back on unless I pull the battery. I use Titanium Backup to freeze the enormous amount of bloatware.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI know it turns off to prevent button press but when I go to press a number or end call, the screen either doesn't turn on or turns off immediately. So I press the power button, it turns on but immediately turns off.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my nexus 4 since around July and I just around January it started turning off by itself every once in a while. it started then happening more and more recently and now it turns off whenever its not plugged. It basically only works when I have it charging. ive dropped it way more than a "few times" and the back is cracked but does this have to do with the frustrating fact that it doesn't work unless its plugged in? Also when its not plugged in, if I turn it on it will turn on and the farthest it'll get is to the "Google" logo in the beginning and then turn off and on and on again by itself constantly until it practically drains its own battery and doesn't re-turn on.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have these two apps(in image below) to lock my screen , for a very long time. But i find a bug in both of them. That when i click them to lock the screen the screen turns back on at delay of around .5 sec.

The USB Debugging turns off itself after restarting the device. I think I experienced this problem after installing multi mount sd-card lite and ticking the Fix MTP option.
How can I fix it?
I set my screen time out to 30 seconds and..it's been 30 seconds my screen is not timing out. This can be REALLY annoying when I forget to push the power button and just put the phone in my pocket and the battery drains.
I called verizon about this yesterday they had me turn my phone off and back on and then it did time out. Today I tried the same thing and it's not timing out..
The phone is brand new, only 3 days old has not been dropped or anything.
There are so many Date-classes (GregorianCalendar, Calendar, TimeZone, Date,.....), I lost track.
How can I get the seconds now since 1.1.1970 as "long" in Android?
Does the Eris only allow 10 seconds of video texting? I was playing this morning and, it would only let me send 10sec clips at the lowest setting. Any way to send longer clips?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI woke up today to my phone being off, I tried turning it on, and it said low battery - I was able to use it for 10 seconds and then it died. So I tried charging it. It has been "charging" for two hours and now refuses to turn on. But now it constantly buzzes every two seconds. I have 3 chargers, so in case the one I was using was broken, I tried the others, same thing. What is going on?
Now before you say that THIS IS THE REASON! My phone was on the sofa and fell into my dog's water bowl, the second it fell I took it out and checked everything. The inside didn't even have a single drop in it. And the little cotton indicator hasn't changed colour. I have small hopes that this can be repaired.
I am just PRAYING that this isn't because of the water. I am always careful and handle my phones well. But the rare times they slip, they fall in the smallest spaces with water in them. Example, my past phone was tipped from the nightstand and fell perfectly into a cup of water that was on the floor, that was JUST big enough to fit the phone. Same thing with the water bowl, out of ALL the spaces my phone could fall on the floor, it falls right into a tiny space of water...
