Connect Wireless USB Hub

Feb 10, 2012

I've written app for tablet. My app uses external devices like RFID reader and thermal printer. But devices are connected to the tablet using wired USB hub, then USB2Serial converter (FTDI or Prolific) and then device. I'm talking with them sending/receiving simple bytes to/from virtual port in Android. It works great.

But now I'm thinking about making such solution more mobile. I would like to have wireless USB hub, and tablet without any wires.

I have found such devices:

Belkin F5U301
Cables To Go Wireless USB Hub

and a few more.

Unfortunately, none of them have Android support.

I think, there should be a special driver for receiving wireless data and connecting such data to the virtual port in Android.

HTC EVO 4G :: Can't Connect To Wireless Network

Nov 8, 2010

I have had no problems in the last 6 months connecting my evo to my uverse router until yesterday. I went out of town for the weekend and ever since I have returned my phone will not connect to my router.I have "forgotten" the network and re-entered the password but that didn't fix the problem either. It just says "obtaining IP address".

HTC EVO 4G :: Connect To Wireless Network

Just got the EVO 4 and everything seems to work OK, except that my PC (Windows 7, 64 bit) cannot see it when I connect to my home wireless network. The EVO 4g says it is connected to my network OK, but the phone doesn't appear as a device or drive anywhere on the network where I can see it. USB connection works OK.

HTC Magic :: Can't Connect To My New Wireless Router

I've just moved house and got a new internet connection. Formerly my Magic was connected to my wireless router and all was well. It still connects to wifi hotspots etc. but it just can't see the new one. Two laptops and one notebook all work, as does my wife's iPhone. I'm not sure where to start looking. I can get into the router and mess about with the wireless settings if necessary. In particular, these look interesting. Currently set to the defaults: Code...

Android :: Need Wireless Router Droid Incredible To Connect Internet

Apr 22, 2010

Okay, so I am totally going to be new to the android phone. I am so excited! I have a question, and fear it may be a stupid one, but will ask anyway! Do I need a wireless router for my Droid Incredible to connect to Internet? Or will the phone connect to the Internet like my LG Dare already does (click on icon and it goes to Internet)? Or can I connect both ways? Do you know what I mean? I am supposing that that if I had a wireless router, that would allow me wifi connection. Is that faster than just using the phone on its own?

Sprint HTC Hero :: Phone Won't Connect To My Home Wireless System / Why Is So?

May 20, 2010

I can't figure out why my Hero won't connect to my home wireless system.
I'm able to connect in other hotspots around town but for some reason not in my own home.
I have my router set up with WPA-Personal security and after numerous times attempting to connect by entering that god awful encryption key (learned how to cut & paste on the Hero) no luck.
Reading other threads on this subject I took someone's advise and reset the router to use WEP security with the same results.
I have a wireless laptop and printer in the household that use my wireless system just fine. Why won't my Hero play nice?

HTC Droid Eris :: Unable To Connect To Campus WiFi (WPA2 Wireless Network)

Apr 28, 2010

Ever since flashing the 2.1 leaks (V1 and then V2), I have not been able to connect to my university's WPA2-enterprise wireless network. After I enter my login info (the network uses PEAP with MSCHAPv2, so it doesn't need any certificates), the phone connects as expected and gets a valid IP address, verifiable with netcfg. Before any traffic is allowed to pass to the outside world, however, the device connecting has to go to an authentication page in a browser. When I attempt to go to that page, I get an error titled "Data Connectivity Problem" that states "A secure connection could not be established" which only presents an option to acknowledge the error.

Since I can't load that authentication page, the network is entirely unusable. I did not encounter this problem with 1.5, but since I'm running the V2 leak, reverting is not an option.Has anyone else seen this type of behavior? I can't identify if the problem is in the actual link not being established properly (seems unlikely, as the phone is given an IP address, but perhaps the PEAP layer is having some sort of issue?) or if it has to do with the SSL certificates used for the network authentication page (they're signed, but I'm fairly certain that the name if the site they're signed for is not the name that they've given the new auth server).

The program appears to run fine on the phone, and says 0.4kb download and .1kb upload. I've used two different laptops, one with windows 7, and one with XP to try to connect to the phone. I can find Android Tether as an available network for both computers. However, when I click to connect, both computers cannot connect. When I perform a diagnostic test, windows reports there is a problem with the access point, but cannot fix it.

HTC Eris :: Wireless Tether - Ad Hoc Connections For Wireless Mouse

May 27, 2010

The main reason i wanted a rooted phone was so i could connect to my laptops ad hoc network and use a program for wireless keyboard and mouse. i cant really afford the real thing at the moment and with my laptop hooked up to my flat screen its kind of necessary to have..

So ive rooted my phone and tried a few roms. currently i have this one: [ROM] [05/18/2010] Tainted Vanilla V1.4 OVERCLOCKED - xda-developers

I always run into the same problem though. wired or wireless, i cant get it to connect right. wired never works in any way but i dont really care about that. wireless however shows some signs of working. it shows some data has been sent, not received though. and my computer will detect and connect to it, but seems to lose the signal after a few moments. when i bring up a browser it doesnt even look like something might load. it just says im offline. could someone help me with this?

The other part of this problem is i really just want to connect to my computers ad hoc network and use a wireless keyboard and mouse program. none of them seem that great unfortunately.. recommendations are appreciated. but my biggest issue is that i cant seem to connect to an ad hoc network. i believe my phone detected it only once while i was on the "white widow" rom, but could never quite connect..

HTC Droid Eris :: Can't Connect To Facebook / Can Connect To Facebook For HTC Sense

Jul 25, 2010

I have the HTC Droid Eris. Before the 2.1 update, I just had Facebook sync, but afterwards, it was synced with Facebook for HTC Sense. My problem is that it won't let me sync with just Facebook.I still want my contacts to sync with my phone, because I like the facebook pictures on there. Personally, I like Facebook sync better, because I don't like having all my Facebook contacts on my phone, because the numbers show up twice (number that I have on my phone plus the number that my friends have on Facebook). To prevent that from happening, I would rather have my phone connected to Facebook only and not Facebook for HTC Sense.I thought I could do it, but it won't let me even click on Facebook--like, nothing pops up or anything.I wasn't sure if it was my phone, so I took my dad's Eris and tried to do the same, it works fine on his phone, but I can't get mine to do sync with facebook whatsoever. Thank you very much.

Searching did not turn up any specifications on the Evo with regard to its wireless package though... until today. i Fix it just released its teardown of the Evo 4G, ( HTC Evo 4G Teardown - Page 2 - iFixit ) and it turns out that it features the Broadcom BCM4329 chipset -- known to have 802.11n support! I've read that some people believe that wireless-n support for the Nexus One comes with Froyo... maybe this is something else to look forward to when Froyo comes to the Evo.

HTC EVO 4G :: How To Get Wireless Tether?

Jul 14, 2010

I have a stock EVO with the latest OTA update (software version: 1.47.651.1) and it has never been rooted. All I want to do now is be able to use wireless tether (with multiple laptops) via my EVO. What is the easy/best way to achieve this? I know the first thing I need to do is root the EVO. Should I do this using Unrevoked, or using something like SimpleRoot? For my purposes, what's the difference b/t these two methods?

Next, is wireless tether an app that I have to download somewhere? If so, which is the best one (if there are more than one). Or will this feature surface automatically after rooting the phone. Or does it come on some ROM that I need to flash? And finally, what is this Radio/WiMax patch thing that everyone is trying to put on their phone?
