View 1 RepliesMy home account is from Verizon managed through yahoo. I go to a yahoo mail page but log in as myname@verizon.net.I know there is an option for making email as spam through gmail. But I cannot figure out how to do it on my pop mail acct on my phone. I've searched the forums to no avail.
On my new Android phone I setup my Google Voice number and set it as my primary number to use on the phone. I have had the phone for 3 days and have had my Google Voice acct for over a year with never an issue with it. This morning, the only change I made to my Android phone was adding
an app from the app store called "Facebook Touch". About 2 hours later, I learned that every contact on my Google Voice contact list, which I did a sync with on my phone, got SPAM
with the same SPAM - It was texted out to everyone, here was the message -
Dear, I have tried to purchase some products from a business company, I have attracted by high quality products, low price and enthusiastic services, I think if you are free, you can go to see: styleele.com, picking your interesting <<followed by a link here>>
I can't imagine that it could not have come from the phone. Maybe from that Facebook Touch app as that application had a lot of SPAM just within the application itself (its not deleted).
Since I upgraded to ICS and rooted, I've been getting this message:
How can I block or remove this?
Tried resetting the phone and it kept on repeating.
The other question: I am getting SMSs from some web site trying to turn me into an orthodox jew, is there any way to block these SMSs?
There is a red triangle containing an exclamation mark next to the last message I sent. What does this mean?

I don't want an application that "proxifies" our data (man in the middle; and they have the password of our mailbox).

I have just updated to 2.2 and I am now receiving the age old hassle of 2 message notifications. Now I know that I need to disable the message client but I cannot for the life of me remember how to do it.
I have Handcent installed
Something like:

Sorry if it's been done but I can't find it!! Loads of references to turning it off but I can't for love nor money work out how to do it!
Anyone else having an issue where when connected to WiFi and trying to reply to an email it gives a message failed error using the HTC mail client? Once I disable WiFi it sends with no problem.

You set this up at initial startup.
I've noticed that a lot of comments on top apps are from comment spammers. When is something going to be done about this market wide problem? There are probably less than 20 of these users who hit virtually every top app with comment spam. My app is getting hit every single day by these people. It's really getting annoying.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHere's the deal:I am new Voice user, just got in last weekend with the Google Voice for Students thing. I set up a GV number for safekeeping but I'm not using it for calls or SMS. Voice is only set up on my Incredible to handle voicemail. So, tonight, I got a notification on my phone. Upon looking, I see that there's a message in Voice despite having not received any call. It's from an unknown number and obviously a spam message.
Two questions:
1.) How did this message get to me? i.e. did someone text my GV number or what?
2.) Is spam going to be a big problem with Google Voice? If so, I'm afraid I will very quickly switch back to my carrier's service.
At what seem like random times a pop up message "Looks like you forgot to declare the Millennial Media MMAdViewOverlayActivity in your manifest file" comes on my screen.
I have googled the error and it seems to be attributed to either Angry Birds, Barnes and Noble or ubersoft.
I dont have any such software on my phone....... In fact I dont have that much software at all on my phone.

Android AMF client library Aftek has extensive experience in developing enterprise Flex applications. We have used BlazeDS extensively and we believe that it would nice to provide all the benefits provided by AMF for Android applications as well. We have developed an Android AMF client library which would enable Android application developers use the same extensively. The Android AMF client library supports remoting and secured remoting. This will allow all android applications to use the existing backend like .NET, Java, or PHP. The implementation is asynchronous in nature providing success and failure callbacks. This allows application to perform other tasks without blocking the application. We are currently performing some performance benchmarking and plan to release our library very soon. We would also be incorporating the messaging feature as well.
Android RTMP client library:Aftek has extensive experience in developing voip and audio/video and media applications. Our Android RTMP client library would support some add-ons that would help developers to deliver robust media solutions.
I've got a problem with a flood of touch events destroying my game's framerate while there is a touch active. Basically onTouchEvent is called (with getAction = ACTION_MOVE, x = 0 and y = 0) about a hundred times a second for as long as the finger is touching the screen. I've tried returning from onTouchEvent straight away, and even removing its implementation at all, but it doesn't help - the app slows to a crawl as soon as a finger is down. I asked on the IRC channel and Romain Guy advised me that they're aware of the problem but didn't have time to fix it for Cupcake, so I'm not expecting a full solution!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to help someone who'd like a way to stop email spam from reaching his Android phone. I understand this is usually best done from the email server side of things, but this is where we are right now. This is regarding his work email, and I've suggested that he have gmail fetch it for him so they can filter it (does this work for fetching? I know it works great for emails sent directly to gmail), alas, he says he only has an imap server and no Pop3 server for gmail to fetch. I looked in the market and found only one not terribly highly rated app for filtering email spam on Android phones. If you've tried that email filtering app, it worked?
View 11 Replies View RelatedEver since I got my Android phone, or perhaps it was the unlimited texting, I began getting one our two spam texts a day. My question is this: When I receive such text messages, which often ask me to respond in a certain way (by sending back the word STOP for instance) in order for me to unsubscribe, should I respond? It's a dilemma because I want the spam to stop but I don't want to confirm the validity of my number either (that would invite more spam).

I used AppBrain Ad Detector and some Airpush detectors but they didn't find anything. Those ads are in violation with Google Play policy (they don't show which app is doing it), so I would also like to know which app is causing it - not only how to stop it, so I can report it.

View 17 Replies View RelatedAbout four-five days ago I've began receiving text messages from the number "9999999999".(I'm aware it's not a real number) The texts always contain random symbols, no actual words. It's not a foreign language, it's honestly pure symbols. They had hit the 100mark as of yesterday. 100 text messages received from this nut. I receive them at all times of the day and my number is on the do not call list. (not sure if that applies to texting, but yeah..)
I did not reply to them until yesterday where I sent stop, end, #, etc in attempt to end the madness. I've also blocked the number "9999999999" using my phone providers websites. All my attempts to prevent the texts have failed. I still get them from the same 999 number.
Example of such text is
" `P € 13 ƒƒcK K{q{s!s skk™kk+›› ;( |$o$d +r33q3;R
)ƒ lŒH Y‰ ɡ‘ z‚)‚bjp 4T p
l@, DŽ C y{kk›"
While doing a google search that contained a small portion of a text I've received, THESE are the result. Broken webpages with the same symbols I receive just in a different order. I want two things to be honest... A method to stopping this and to know what the text is written in so maybe I could decode it and find out what each text says. I want them both equally the same.
I just switched to Verizon from att less than a week ago and got a motorola razr. I'm new to android phones, ive had iPhones since the original one came out and its taking sometime getting use to it.
I got a notification today. I can't really remember what the notification said but i clicked on it. when I clicked on it, my browser opened up and a small box popped up and said Congrats att customers you have won the android give away for a pad 2. The web page was how to claim your prize. I know it was spam so I closed the window.
I just want to know why I'm getting this? I haven't downloaded many apps yet. I'm still learning all the settings.
