HTC Droid Eris :: Sending Message With Question Mark Doesn't Send?

Has anyone else ran into this issue with the latest update? Sending a text message that ends in a question mark doesn't send, or doesn't make it to the recipient?
So after i updated to 2.1 ota from 1.5 sending & receiving text messages are awfully slow, and when i try to send like 2 messages quickly it just leggy, for like 15seconds.. will i have to do a factory reset or something to fix this?
Do you guys have any input on this?
I received an image in a message and want to send it to email. However, there is no option to send or save the image.I cannot even find it on the disc when connected to a PC. How can I get this image off the phone to an email or copy to PC?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI went to my verizon wireless account and tried to send a text to my number@vtext.com The web site came back with "invalid address". No hyphens or special characters, just the 10 digit number@vtext.com I even tried sending a text from a hotmail account to my vtext address - no go.Is anyone able to send a text to your own phone through the web site? I have a feeling that is why iPhones can't send or receive pictures from the Eris.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can not send pictures via text message with the stock message app, Handcent, or Chomp. I had been using Handcent for the past 2 1/2 months or so just fine, it would send pics. Then all of a sudden about a week ago it just stopped. It just kept showing the turning green circle over and over until the sending failed. I updated it, I uninstalled it, I reinstalled it. I tried Chomp. I tried the stock app. None of them will send a pic to another phone or to an email. I can send pics to facebook with the facebook app. The stock email app will send an email with a pic attached however.

Also are there any apps out there that will let me download full length mp3's? And did I get a bad battery or does the HTC Eris battery only last a couple hours? Also my phone is an HTC droid eris. Oh and one last question i heard that the eris will be updated from android 1.5 to 2.0 Will that be a software update that I will be able to do with my 2 day old eris when The update comes out?
I accidentally sent a text message to a caller today when I was already on another call. That's a cool feature and I'd like to use it, but I'm not sure how it happened?
I found the option to change my outgoing text message under my settings, but now I just need to know how to use the feature. I tried it a few different ways with my son calling me while I was on another call, but I ended up dumping him into voicemail instead of sending the text message.
ever since the update last night i am unable to send text messages I get SMS code cause code 255, error class: 3.I'm getting pretty mad.

Can i record a simple voice message and send it via MMS? It was pretty simple to do with a cell phone...
I saw that the eris comes with a voice recorder, but i recorded a message and was not able to send it.
Any ideas?
Also, when sending pictures via MMS, it always resizes them and obviously the person receiving doesn't get the same quality. I realize that sending via Gmail doesn't resize, but i send to other cell phones a lot.
I'm thinking the only fix is lowering the camera resolution? I think that lowering the resolution is still better than having it resized for the message. Has anyone tried lowering the resolution to a point that the picture does not need to be resized for MMS?
Same thing for Video messages.. can't even send them. Not sure if it's HAndcent, or the file is just to big
I have a friend who is added to my Desire's contact list.
1. He is on my Facebook contact. (His facebook pic appears in my Desire contact list)
2. He is my Gmail contact as well.
3. He is added as a 'Phone Contact' as well.
I sent him a text few days ago but don't remember if it was using facebook or my phone (network provider sms) but now when I go in to 'Messages' and send him a message, I just can't figure out if I am sending him a message via Facebook or to his mobile number.
my phone is showing that i have over 2000 new emails in my inbox gmail inbox, all of them are from april and earlier (unless I get a new one today, then of course that shows up). Is there a way to delete all the old messages, or at least mark them all read so i dont have an icon on my screen that reads 2341?

I've searched the forums to no avail.
I started using Android 4.1.2 with its E-Mail App 4.1 and Exchange Services 5.0 (hope it is called like this, in German it is "Austauschdienste").
After setting up the connection to the Exchange server (works perfectly), I responded to an Email. Unfortunately, the Email didn't get marked with the tag/arrow answered in Outlook (in the app itself it got marked...). Before I used the app MailDroid. There it worked. Is there any possibility/explanation/wrong configuration, why the answered status is not synced?
It's annoying when i'm looking at my mail on the gmail site and seeing all these tags. Also is there a way to mark a message as SPAM on the K-9 client?

I don't want an application that "proxifies" our data (man in the middle; and they have the password of our mailbox).

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.
but I would like to know if the message sent in a text message can be forwarded to another contact on my phone, and if so, how do you do it? Checked the owners manual, and could not find it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have to build a feature in my application which allows user to send a skype message.
For this I have installed skype lite client for Android (although offically the download has been currently withdrawn from Skype).
Now how to initiate the activity from my application OR simply send the chat message without bringing it front, assuming I have skype installed in Android & also signed in already.
I was wondering if 2.1 still had the following bugs/problems that myself, and a lot of people seem to encounter with 1.5, or if it's phone specific not OS specific.
1. Problems receiving picture messages. Specifically receiving a message saying "Message not downloaded. Retransmission scheduled for XX:XX", even if you click "Download" button multiple times.
2. When receiving a text message longer than 160 characters, you get a message saying "The preceding messages modified. Media objects removed." and the sender gets a message saying that you do not support enhanced messaging service, even though you DO actually receive the entire message. I know the Incredible doesn't have this problem, but the Eris does.
