View 1 RepliesTake a look at the scribd poster here: Droid X Ad Tears Into iPhone 4's 'Grip of Death' Signal Issues | Android Phone Fans
*The article itself is unrelated*, however, if you see the Droid X picture in the Ad at the bottom of the article, the in call screen has twitter update of the person. As far as i can tell, the in-call screen seems to be otherwise essentially AOSP call screen. IS this a customisation that Droid X people get, can i do this on my HTC Hero (Rooted with Froyo)?
I apologize if this has been covered, but i haven't been able to find a application that will display the date (MM/DD) on the status bar. I saw one called "Date Status Bar" but it seems to not exist anymore on the market? Anyone know of a good date application that'll display on the status bar? Been searching all day
View 2 Replies View RelatedIm looking for a widget that allows me to update Facebook and Twitter from the homescreen without launching an app. It only needs to update, I dont need to see friends statuses or my Facebook wall or Tweets or anything just a status updater widget.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that I can't type the full 240 characters into the update field in the Facebook app. It cuts me off at 160. Is it just me, or is the app falling short?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi know you can put notifications in the status bar, but i dont want to do that, i want to put an ICON when my application is running, also in background (home key pressed or something like that) i mean that is not a notification icon, it's just an icon showing that my application is OK, like battery icon, or hour icon..., or alarm icon i can't find any information about how to do this
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know how to upload pictures to a Facebook album, and I know how to make a status update, but how do I do both at the same time, so I can comment on the picture? (This is not the same as giving the picture a caption, which I also know how to do.)

View 2 Replies View RelatedMotorola Droid user coming from iPhone here. One of the features I miss is having the battery percentage indicated in the status bar next to the little icon (in fact, I'd rather just have the percentage rather than the icon). Is there an app to show that in the status bar? It seems the precision of the battery meter is by 10% increments until it reaches 20%, but even that would be better than just the icon.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've got a HTC Desire from O2 UK and it's got O2 splash screen when it loads, but I believe it's unlocked. Here are the following details it's on:
Firmware Version - 2.1-update1
Baseband Version - 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2
Kernal Version - 2.6.29-c8d11160 htc-kernal@and18-2 #1
Build Number - 1.20.207.3 CL171460 release-keys
Software Number - 1.20.207.3
Browser Version - Webkit 3.1
Boot Loader - 0.80
Earlier on today, I ran ?Unrevoked3" on Linux, which "rooted" my phone. It added an extra option called "Superuser Permissions", but the O2 branding when phone is turned on remains, and the numbers above stayed the same. Now I tried to load a new ROM, but they all bring up the errors below. I have tried loads of different ones. I have plenty of free space on my SD card and have renamed some to update.zip, but still no luck. One seemed like it went through, but straight after an animation of a cross played on the screen, with different colours, and this wouldn't go away even after a restart............
I need some advices about the Android OS and application.i wonder if the Android OS is able to push network connecting status to applications.(I found applications can get a network connecting status from android OS. But I can't find reverse cases.)However, I am thinking android OS may push network connecting status to applications.when application is installed on android os, is it possible to register something for monitoring phone's network status on android os.Because I want my application can receive phone's network status from android os.(not by asking directly to android os.) It means: when phone's network status changes, does android os automatically informs phone's network status to application?I'm sorry my English writing is bad TT;

View 23 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that the green 'online' status indicator in Talk doesn't update on my phone when someone signs off, it stays green for them. They show as offline on my PC but continue to show online on the Droid. If I sign out and back in to Talk on the phone it will update their status, but otherwise not. I've tried closing chat but that doesn't seem to work, I don't see anything in settings that would affect it either. Any ideas?
I'm the only one using Android, my other contacts are all using Talk online (not with a phone) if that makes a difference.
Is there a Twitter/Facebook widget (social networking/statuses) to update statuses? I had one on my DroidX but can't seem to find/figure it out on here.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhats the best battery status app out there in your opinion. In terms of features, status it shows and of course accuracy.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe battery status is horrible. Why does it look like it's at 50% when at 30%? I downloaded an app that puts the percentage in the status bar, but it's at the top left in notifications. Is there an app that replaces the current icon with one with a percentage or, at least, is more accurate? I doubt there is. I didn't find anything on Marketplace or through search.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have read on the market support that "If you have previously published an application for free, you cannot change it to have a price". But I was wondering, if at the contrary I change my app from paid to free and some time after I want to re change it from free to paid! Can I? And if yes, Have I to wait some period (I have read something like this in the contract)?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have published application and now I'm making update to it. I changed applications Data structure and moved all files under /Android/ data/<package_name>/files/ folder. All files that are in that folder will be automatically removed when application is uninstalled.I want those files to be removed when application is uninstalled but not when it's UPDATED. I don't want users to lose all their data after every update. I don't know how to test it (without publishing new release). So will those files be deleted when user updates my application?

I know this has most likely been discussed many times. But I am looking for a decent email widget.
At the moment I am using the default htc email widget, however when ever I read an email from my gmail account it doesnt update the read status so it still shows as unread.
I would like one that would update the read status and possible the support for unified inbox so I can see new mail from hotmail account and gmail.
I'm developing an application that will most likely be preinstalled on devices. It will be also available on Market. Is there a way to update those instances that are not downloaded through Market, since Market won't notify users about an update. I was thinking about, as suggested here, trying to contact my site periodically, and when update is available, download it. I'm wondering if there is a way to do this update automatically, so that user doesn't have to do anything (like running the package manually). Or, when my site shows update is available, to offer users an update through Market, even though it's not installed through Market. EDIT: This Market option would be preferable, because than users wouldn't have to check "allow install of non-Market sources".
