Im looking for a widget that allows me to update Facebook and Twitter from the homescreen without launching an app. It only needs to update, I dont need to see friends statuses or my Facebook wall or Tweets or anything just a status updater widget.

I'm trying to figure out how to only update my FB status when I post to friendstream, without updating my twitter status BUT still receive other people's twitter updates. I've tried unchecking 'sync friend' and 'sync peep' in settings but that didn't work. evo 4g.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just recently got my xperia x10 and had to almost immediately upgrade to the 2.1 system. I am noticing a few things that I'm not fussy about from the 1.6 system but the thing that is bugging me the most is that I cannot (figure out how to) link contacts in my phonebook to their facebook and twitter accounts. In 1.6, when you edited a contact it gave you the option to click LINK. I cannot find any of this on the new system. As well, for contacts that I had linked before, their facebook profile pic (current from the time when i linked them before upgrading to 2.1) shows up on their contact information (i usually only link facebook, as i dont use twitter as much) and their profile is linked. However when i go into EDIT, it says FACEBOOK, Timescape and a big exclamation mark that has a message beside it saying : Timescape Plug-In Manager contact information is not editable on this device. i SHOULD be able to edit and link all my contacts. that was the whole purpose of the xperia having this timescape program.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI've had this phone since Tuesday and it's not made it from morning to night one time. I am using it, yes, but I thought that was the point. My usual routine is wake up, check the twitter/facebook feeds, log in and check email, browse a few web pages, and get moving. today, i did all of that and took a walk and listened to a cd for an hour on the doubletwist player. i took a single photo. and made one very short phone call. it is nearly dead. it's been off the hook since 830 and it's only 3. I could do all this minus the music playing part on my blackberry, which was ancient 8830 and i would still have juice by midnight tonight. and it should be noted, blackberry constantly pushed my email--i have k9 set to manual, as i do with the facebook and twitter/social media widget. so that instantaneous access that's supposed to be so useful and exciting--i don't have it.
i've done all the usuals, turned off the bluetooth, the wifi radio, the 4g radio (the whole point of the damn phone), lowered screen brightness to the very lowest number, making it totally useless in bright daylight and i mean completely useless-can't see to answer a damn call), i have the screen lock to 15 seconds. i have the autosyncing off, i have the whole phone crippled, and it's about to die. does anyone have any suggestions? i was using launcher pro, but want to go back to the standard touchwiz--only bummer is i can't swap out the messaging icon for handcent which i installed over the regular msging app--because ppl said it uses less battery drain-- but not sure how to disable the old one. i am using live wallpapers, but again, how much of a drain can they really be overall? i turned off the animations, is this a lemon? will rooting make it better? will the new upcoming os make it better? or is 6 hours of usage all i can expect? srsly, i would like to know, because if that's the case, i will go back to the blackberry. i don't care how fancy the phone is, if you can't use all the fun things without it dying, then what's the point?
I've noticed that I can't type the full 240 characters into the update field in the Facebook app. It cuts me off at 160. Is it just me, or is the app falling short?

I went to the marketplace and downloaded Facebook for Android to try and fix the problem. It does seem to have worked, however now my facebook widget will NOT update. It's so weird because under the actual facebook app everything is up to date in the news feed... but the widget is showing an old status update from several hours ago with no changes since. the really weird thing is that it has actually updated since I replaced Facebook for Android so I'm not sure if they are even related. I have tried changing my syncing settings several different ways but no change. What is going on?
View 7 Replies View RelatedLast night I noticed that the Facebook Widget displayed a message "update not available". If you clicked the "F" to go to your profile, newsfeed that worked. However the newsfeed that pushes to the widget stopped. I haven't changed my settings and everything else is updating regularly. I removed the widget, replaced it and it just shows up blank and the "F" no longer hot links. However, from the same program, I can add the shortcut to Facebook and that works.

I basically want a widget which has a simlar layout as the twitter widget.As you can see the tweet text nicely wraps around the AUTHOR element. I have the Android Facebook-Connect library running in my emulator and I'm able to set my status with the Facebook API I have setup. However, I don't know where to go from there? Am I supposed to use the session key that this library allows me to get and make some Facebook API calls? I haven't found any code examples to even see what the proper syntax is. Am I better off using another library? I tried fbrocket with limited luck(I get a "server error 104 - Incorrect signature").

I was syncing my Facebook and Twitter accounts... and seeing the updates on an app that seemed pre-installed on the phone. It displayed both the Twitter and Facebook updates in the same screen and had a little "T" or "F" on the side to identify them. All was well until I accidentally deleted the screen and now don't know what app that was to get it back. I went through them all.
