Jul 15, 2010Im looking for a widget that allows me to update Facebook and Twitter from the homescreen without launching an app. It only needs to update, I dont need to see friends statuses or my Facebook wall or Tweets or anything just a status updater widget.

I'm trying to figure out how to only update my FB status when I post to friendstream, without updating my twitter status BUT still receive other people's twitter updates. I've tried unchecking 'sync friend' and 'sync peep' in settings but that didn't work. evo 4g.

Ive tried the menu button while in contacts, and I don't see a refresh button.
2.1 Update :: Linking Contacts With Their Facebook And Twitter On 2.1
Nov 26, 2010I just recently got my xperia x10 and had to almost immediately upgrade to the 2.1 system. I am noticing a few things that I'm not fussy about from the 1.6 system but the thing that is bugging me the most is that I cannot (figure out how to) link contacts in my phonebook to their facebook and twitter accounts. In 1.6, when you edited a contact it gave you the option to click LINK. I cannot find any of this on the new system. As well, for contacts that I had linked before, their facebook profile pic (current from the time when i linked them before upgrading to 2.1) shows up on their contact information (i usually only link facebook, as i dont use twitter as much) and their profile is linked. However when i go into EDIT, it says FACEBOOK, Timescape and a big exclamation mark that has a message beside it saying : Timescape Plug-In Manager contact information is not editable on this device. i SHOULD be able to edit and link all my contacts. that was the whole purpose of the xperia having this timescape program.

Sep 3, 2010I've had this phone since Tuesday and it's not made it from morning to night one time. I am using it, yes, but I thought that was the point. My usual routine is wake up, check the twitter/facebook feeds, log in and check email, browse a few web pages, and get moving. today, i did all of that and took a walk and listened to a cd for an hour on the doubletwist player. i took a single photo. and made one very short phone call. it is nearly dead. it's been off the hook since 830 and it's only 3. I could do all this minus the music playing part on my blackberry, which was ancient 8830 and i would still have juice by midnight tonight. and it should be noted, blackberry constantly pushed my email--i have k9 set to manual, as i do with the facebook and twitter/social media widget. so that instantaneous access that's supposed to be so useful and exciting--i don't have it.
i've done all the usuals, turned off the bluetooth, the wifi radio, the 4g radio (the whole point of the damn phone), lowered screen brightness to the very lowest number, making it totally useless in bright daylight and i mean completely useless-can't see to answer a damn call), i have the screen lock to 15 seconds. i have the autosyncing off, i have the whole phone crippled, and it's about to die. does anyone have any suggestions? i was using launcher pro, but want to go back to the standard touchwiz--only bummer is i can't swap out the messaging icon for handcent which i installed over the regular msging app--because ppl said it uses less battery drain-- but not sure how to disable the old one. i am using live wallpapers, but again, how much of a drain can they really be overall? i turned off the animations, is this a lemon? will rooting make it better? will the new upcoming os make it better? or is 6 hours of usage all i can expect? srsly, i would like to know, because if that's the case, i will go back to the blackberry. i don't care how fancy the phone is, if you can't use all the fun things without it dying, then what's the point?
HTC Droid Eris :: Facebook Widget - Update Not Available
Apr 19, 2010Last night I noticed that the Facebook Widget displayed a message "update not available". If you clicked the "F" to go to your profile, newsfeed that worked. However the newsfeed that pushes to the widget stopped. I haven't changed my settings and everything else is updating regularly. I removed the widget, replaced it and it just shows up blank and the "F" no longer hot links. However, from the same program, I can add the shortcut to Facebook and that works.

Feb 15, 2012My droid razr was installing an automatic update, made an error and then failed ultimately. It happened over night, so I wasn't even paying attention to it. This morning it was stuck with no service, no data, nothing. I tried turning it off and then back on, putting airplane mode on and then off. No luck. I then did a factory reset. Now it just says "please wait, this may take a few minutes." It does not change. I waited as long as the batter would stay charged. Still nothing.
I also tried re activating it on the verizon wireless website. No luck.

Aug 29, 2010I have been getting a weird "error fetching data [null]" type error for the past several days. I went to the marketplace and downloaded Facebook for Android to try and fix the problem. It does seem to have worked, however now my facebook widget will NOT update. It's so weird because under the actual facebook app everything is up to date in the news feed... but the widget is showing an old status update from several hours ago with no changes since. the really weird thing is that it has actually updated since I replaced Facebook for Android so I'm not sure if they are even related. I have tried changing my syncing settings several different ways but no change. What is going on?

Nov 9, 2010I am trying to remove my facebook and twitter accounts from my phone since they took over my contacts list and I simply just do not want them. When I go to settings > accounts > then try to remove either of them I get the Removing Account box with the red bar and it feels up to the end. Then I get an error message saying "An error has occurred. Please try again." I have rebooted the phone and everything.I googled this problem and found many posts with the same problem, but no answers. Does anyone have a clue what to do ?
