I have a question, I've been adjusting my droid eris settings to save battery time. I installed the Handcent SMS to replace the SMS default application so that it does not stay on all time, but every time I check my phone with Advanced Task Manager Killer the Handcent SMS and Skype Mobile are ALWAYS ON. What can I do to turn them off permanently and thus save battery time?

Is there a "msconfig" of sorts where I can stop them from starting on their own or....?
My dad is going overseas and has a BlackBerry Storm with Skype and I have a Droid with Skype. Can I call him overseas for free using skype? I know that if we both used our laptops to talk it would be free, so is there any difference in using skype mobile to skype mobile?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't figure out how to turn off a2dp. In my car, the DInc is plugged into an FM transmitter and paired with my BT headset. The problem is the audio I'm playing comes through my headset instead of the car stereo. No problem says I. I go into the bluetooth settings for my particular headset while it's paired and uncheck the box that tells it to play audio through my headset. Problem is solved. Wrong. The setting doesn't stick.
The next time I got in my car and paired my headset, it started playing through the headset. This time I dug through the menus and made doubly sure that I had ticked the box. I backed all the way out to the home screen and the setting seemed to have stuck. Then I went all the way back into the menu and the settings again. The setting was still there and seemed to have stuck. Wrong. Turned the headset off and turned it back on again. Same thing. A2dp turned back on. How can I permanently disable this? I'm using a BlueAnt T1 if that makes any difference.

I found an .apk of it (version 1.0.0.6), but it doesn't support calls over WiFi. Can anyone tell me how I can get Skype Mobile to show in the 2.2 Market, or at least direct to a more current .apk of it?

Nevertheless, I am 100% happy and in love with this thing. Absolutely no complaints. I have a question though, I have a skype account and I "thought" I could use it on the EVO but when I go to Skype mobile, it says only Verizon customers can use it? Is that true? Can someone walk me through using skype on my EVO??

Wasn't sure if it's a delay or an issue in the fact that I have the leaked 2.2 version on my phone. I can't find it in the Market and I can't find a barcode to compare it to either.

I installed the update1 pushed out to me couple weeks ago from verizon. After that, the Skype mobile doesn't open with error message. I tried removing and reinstalling it, then it worked again. But it's screwed up again after rebooting the phone. I had to repeat this twice. Sorry if this was discussed before. But is there any solution to this problem?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhenever I use Skype Mobile it seems to reset my Home button (as if I had gone to the application manager and reset to defaults) so I have to keep selecting Helix Launcher every single time after using Skype.
Obviously I check the "Use by default for this action" box each time.
Only Skype Mobile seems to do this. I have also tried powering off and back on.
I was trying to make my own VPN to bypass my mobile network's blockage on Skype. I'm trying to get my Galaxy S3 connect to my home's PC which is totally fine with Skype.I followed the steps here to setup a VPN on Windows 7. But when I tried to fill the VPN settings on my phone, it was unsuccessful.

Following are the steps for configuring Incoming VPN Connection in Windows 7
First go to Control Panel and open Network and Sharing Center.
Click on Change adapter settings.
Press Alt+F and select New Incoming connection
Put a check on who you'd like to give access to this computer or you can configure a new account by clicking on Add someone,after that click on Next.
Put a check mark on Through the Internet. Click on Next.
Select the protocols you want to enable for this connection. Click on Allow access.
Make a note of the Computer name as this will be used by the client to connect to this computer and after that Click on Close.
Both listed under applications->running services as always running. I don't need/use either so how do I get rid of them?

The Skype Lite app does not allow calling.
I don't mind either calling using my local minutes OR using my data plan.

I have the Haptic Feedback option unchecked in the phone's settings yet I still get haptic feedback when using other apps such as Handcent and Facebook. I did not see an option for haptic feedback in the Handcent options. What do I need to do to turn it off?

Some sites give an option after opening in Mobile v, but i'd rather disable it altogether. At least for some sites it'd be nice. So far, the 4G seems to handle the full versions pretty well IMO.

I tried to open the web browser and it said no data service could be found and that I needed to enable wifi or the mobile network. I checked the settings for the mobile network and it says "turning on" and it's greyed out. What's going on here? I've already tried turning it off/on again 3 times now.

Since doing so, I have noticed that the data turns itself on every so often.I normally use the htc widget to turn on/off the mobile data as I don't use it while at work/at home. Occaisionally, I notice that it is switched on and when I try to switch it back off, it restarts itself. I've noticed this on quite a few days now over the last couple of weeks and once it starts doing it, I can't stop it.I can only think it is down to either some app that I have installed or the synch settings, but I have checked for running processes and killed anything that looks like one of my apps.I don't really know what else to do to stop it. Has anyone got any ideas?
