I can't find a setting that allows me to just see the regular versions of websites, as opposed to the mobile versions. Some sites give an option after opening in Mobile v, but i'd rather disable it altogether. At least for some sites it'd be nice. So far, the 4G seems to handle the full versions pretty well IMO.

i have just brought the HTC D HD and i was wondering if anyone know's how to view the normal websites and not mobile versions. For example I search for youtube in google and it always brings up the mobile version, but i want the web version you get on laptops, can anyone help?

I'm using the Dolphin Browser and struggling to figure out how to get back to the mobile versions of sites. I know it was sending me to the mobile engadget site there at first, but lately I can only get to the full site. I'd really rather see the mobile one for loading time purposes. I remember on my Hero there was an option buried in the menu for this, but I can't find it on the Droid. Does it matter that I'm in Dolphin instead of the stock browser? And doesn't AndroidForums have a mobile version as well? Can't seem to get to that either.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to find a way of quickly switching off/on the Mobile Network setting from the home screen. When searching Google there's loads of pages stating that it is an HTC Widget that can be added. I have checked all the widgets on the Desire HD and cannot seem to find it anywhere. I am using an unbranded handset.
The Desire HD manual even states "You can also add widgets that allow you to quickly switch on or off certain settings of your phone, such as Wi-Fi, Mobile Network...".
Does anyone else with an HD handset have this widget ?
I've got a new HTC Hero but I'm having problems setting it up w/ T-Mobile's MMS. I looked around various sites for the correct APN settings but none of them seemed to work for me.
I actually had it working before, where I could send pictures w/ wifi on and to receive, I would simply have to turn the wifi off.
If anyone's in my situation (unlocked HTC Hero w/ T-Mobile network), I would appreciate it if you guys could provide me the correct APN settings.
I had a program that I got from the Market...I think it was called something Settings. It was a green color "gear" icon.
I think that was the program. It let's you control all of your settings for the most part such as wifi-gps etc...
For the LG EVE where do you go to turn on or off 3G?
I do not have data anymore.
I had a setting where I could turn on and off the 3G GPRS.
I no longer have that feature.
Turning off all the useless crap and using an app killer gets me a solid 2 to 3 days on 1 charge.
There's a setting in this Evo somewhere to allow the screen to turn off while charging. I can't find it. Any help?

GSM/WCDMA (auto connect) - automatically switches between 2G/3G modes. When signal strength is low, 3G is favored more
GSM only - 2G only mode. When 2G signal strength is low, you get no data.
WCDMA only - 3G only mode. When 3G signal strength is low, you get no data.
But in my case, i can't switch to " GSM/WCDMA " or " WCDMA only ", it still changing in gsm only, when i change to " GSM/WCDMA " or " WCDMA only ", the setting goes automaticly in " GSM only ".
How can we turn on/off GPS programatically without going on setting screen in android?

When I wake up in the morning, the phone is fully charged but I received a text message at 12:30 AM and my screen has been on ever since. Is there a setting that the screen turns off after a notification while charging?

Anyone know how to do that? It says the mobile data switch in the app won't work for CDMA networks (requires APNdroid).
Is there anyway to tap into the widget that HTC has on our phones because that switch seems to work just fine to turn the data off. I simply want Tasker to do it automatically based on a location Context.
I just got my HTC Magic yesterday and I was meddling around with it for awhile and I realized, when you receive text messages there are no vibration? Is it possible to make the phone vibrate when there are new text messages? And also, is it possible to turn of GPRS so that I wont accidentally connect to the internet with it?

I tried to open the web browser and it said no data service could be found and that I needed to enable wifi or the mobile network. The native browser will not multi touch zoom either (I thought this was supposed to be included in the update).

Since doing so, I have noticed that the data turns itself on every so often.I normally use the htc widget to turn on/off the mobile data as I don't use it while at work/at home. Occaisionally, I notice that it is switched on and when I try to switch it back off, it restarts itself. I've noticed this on quite a few days now over the last couple of weeks and once it starts doing it, I can't stop it.I can only think it is down to either some app that I have installed or the synch settings, but I have checked for running processes and killed anything that looks like one of my apps.I don't really know what else to do to stop it. Has anyone got any ideas?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI don't know if it was a settings app (Quick Settings by Sergey) from the android market that caused it, but after uninstalling that app (the only other one i use right now is the lock screen widget - which i just uninstalled), i can't turn the mobile network on. i've tried the airplane mode trick, gone into settings, soft reset, etc. any ideas in the manage applications? i'd rather not do another hard reset (had to for the google account). i called htc and they were useless - with no trouble shooting, they recommended a hard reset and to not download apps! btw, i'm on a non-rooted phone.
