View 4 Replies View RelatedMy dad is going overseas and has a BlackBerry Storm with Skype and I have a Droid with Skype. Can I call him overseas for free using skype? I know that if we both used our laptops to talk it would be free, so is there any difference in using skype mobile to skype mobile?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSorry if this should be somewhere else, but I'm have an X with the leaked 2.2 on it. I've heard about the Skype Mobile update but it's not showing up in my downloads. Wasn't sure if it's a delay or an issue in the fact that I have the leaked 2.2 version on my phone. I can't find it in the Market and I can't find a barcode to compare it to either.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhenever I use Skype Mobile it seems to reset my Home button (as if I had gone to the application manager and reset to defaults) so I have to keep selecting Helix Launcher every single time after using Skype.
Obviously I check the "Use by default for this action" box each time.
Only Skype Mobile seems to do this. I have also tried powering off and back on.
Both listed under applications->running services as always running. I don't need/use either so how do I get rid of them?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI finally found an EVO from an authorized Sprint Retailer store. They got 3 in that morning. I bought the last one at 2pm. Nevertheless, I am 100% happy and in love with this thing. Absolutely no complaints. I have a question though, I have a skype account and I "thought" I could use it on the EVO but when I go to Skype mobile, it says only Verizon customers can use it? Is that true? Can someone walk me through using skype on my EVO??

I have an HTC Magic and I have a couple of contacts who I frequently talk with on skype. Is there anyway to talk with them skype-to-skype on the Android phone?
The Skype Lite app does not allow calling.
I don't mind either calling using my local minutes OR using my data plan.
Are there any other applications that could assist me with this?
Do we have this app? I kno the Droid has it but is there anyway we can get it for our beloved hero? the other apps supporting the skype chat kind of sux..
View 17 Replies View RelatedSo after installing the FRF57 build of Froyo, I searched the Market for Skype Mobile, however it was not there. I found an .apk of it (version 1.0.0.6), but it doesn't support calls over WiFi. Can anyone tell me how I can get Skype Mobile to show in the 2.2 Market, or at least direct to a more current .apk of it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm a new comer on this forum. I got my Ally about a month ago. So far I like it overall, though it feels a little slow at times. I installed the update1 pushed out to me couple weeks ago from verizon. After that, the Skype mobile doesn't open with error message. I tried removing and reinstalling it, then it worked again. But it's screwed up again after rebooting the phone. I had to repeat this twice. Sorry if this was discussed before. But is there any solution to this problem?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a question, I've been adjusting my droid eris settings to save battery time. I installed the Handcent SMS to replace the SMS default application so that it does not stay on all time, but every time I check my phone with Advanced Task Manager Killer the Handcent SMS and Skype Mobile are ALWAYS ON. What can I do to turn them off permanently and thus save battery time?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was trying to make my own VPN to bypass my mobile network's blockage on Skype. I'm trying to get my Galaxy S3 connect to my home's PC which is totally fine with Skype.I followed the steps here to setup a VPN on Windows 7. But when I tried to fill the VPN settings on my phone, it was unsuccessful.
EDIT:
Following are the steps for configuring Incoming VPN Connection in Windows 7
First go to Control Panel and open Network and Sharing Center.
Click on Change adapter settings.
Press Alt+F and select New Incoming connection
Put a check on who you'd like to give access to this computer or you can configure a new account by clicking on Add someone, after that click on Next.
Put a check mark on Through the Internet. Click on Next.
Select the protocols you want to enable for this connection. Click on Allow access.
Make a note of the Computer name as this will be used by the client to connect to this computer and after that Click on Close.
Seems like there are a lot of programs, when I look at my task killer that have started on their own for example
Footprints (what the heck is that anyway... wanted to uninstall but can't)
Skype Mobile
Google talk
City ID
Handcent SMS
Mixzing
Is there a "msconfig" of sorts where I can stop them from starting on their own or....?
I searched the forum for an answer, but nothing on point...
Is there a mod out there that allows Skype over WiFi?
just announced and released, a new version of Skype that CAN use wifi, something everyone was clamoring for. I have not loaded up yet, but might try later today and see how wifi works. it is getting okay Comments, but not great. Huge 14mb - which for rooted people is okay as we can force it to the SD card as it is not native SD card app though. No video ability. apparently sign-out or logging off is a bit tricky and hidden.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to download mp3 files from my file server onto my Droid. Everytime I try to download a song I get the error message Download Unsuccessful. I thought it was a problem with my server but all of my computers can download from it, and I just went and got my mom's Droid ERIS to test. It could successfully download mp3 files from the server. This is ridiculous, why wouldn't my Droid be able to download these files but the ERIS can? Is this a case of Droid DOESN'T?

When a user visits a url with the given ID, the BLOB data is retrieved from the database to the webbrower However, the iPhone (Safari) can't download a *.txt and *.doc file. Or am I doing something wrong in the Response.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs anyone experiencing slow connection speeds when using the EVO mobile hotspot. From the Evo phone itself, I am getting 2 - 3 Mb/s download speeds. When I connect my laptop or ipad, I am getting max 500 kb/s download speeds on them. The phone continues to get 2 - 3 Mb/s download speeds while hotspot is on. I have tried different wireless security settings but all seem to exhibit the same behavior. Any thoughts on how to rectify this? I am assuming the mobile hotspot should be providing download speeds comparable with the native EVO connection.
