View 4 RepliesSo I just finished my ota 2.2 update... since the install everything has been working great however when I open the camera (still or video) it will not open. The screen will turn black with the camera or video image and then go back to the home screen. I have tried restarting the phone with the same results. Any suggestions? Has anyone else experienced this? btw I was unrooted and stock if that makes a difference prior to the update.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an app that I started in 1.6. It used images that were specific to portrait and landscape layouts. I put these in the corresponding drawable folders, for example:
drawable/image01,png
drawable-land/image01.png
when I created a new project with 2.0 it gave me the following folders. drawable drawable-hdpi drawable-mdpi drawable-lpdi. when I look at the documentation around these folders it all seems very straight forward. I assumed that you were able to create the following folders. drawable-hdpi-land drawable-mdpi-land drawable-lpdi-land
and everything would work as before. The image directory would swap automagically pulling the appropriately laid out image depending on your screen orientation. Unfortunately it does not. The SDK seems to get confused, and if I clean the project, the folders come up as poorly named.
This one surely is a simple one but I haven't made sense of is yet. I'm working on an app in opengl es on android. everything goes well except when I load the textures. I manage to open load and create all the textures without any problem, but the image displays itself rotated of 90. it looks as if the application does not consider that its is in landscape when opening the image...I solved the problem by turning all my textures of 90 degrees but I would sure like to figure this one out Because it is the only thing that is not rotated, the top bar is rotated, the touch coordinated are rotated,
the h and w of the surface are good,
Here are some code snippets that I think are relevant:

Hi developers, As I'm just an Android user, I might be illegally here. But I just found out that being left handed, I have a slight problem with my recently purchased HTC Magic. I have searched Market already, but could not find anything to help me. My problem is this: as I am left handed, I like to turn the phone to landscape orientation with the buttons to the left (turning it clockwise). As you will probably all know, this won't work. To get landscape you have to turn the phone counter clockwise. Would it be possible for one of you to develop something to enable left handed people to turn the phone to landscape like they would intuitively do, that is clockwise?

Of course I don't know much about the programming tricks and workarounds yet. I did a lot of research over the last two weeks (even studied the native Camera implementation), but couldn't find a good solution so far.

So I have lost all my pictures that were on my SD card where I had them stored after taking them.I unmounted the card and tried to look that way also.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my photo settings reset to factory settings, I did this because after I transfer my images to my computer, they are only full thumbnail size. I have selected on the camera the 16M setting, so as I understand that should be pretty big right? (bare with me, I am not by any means a photog) so I am assuming some where in the camera I must have changed a setting that changes the maximum image size for transfer? I am so lost and confused, I just want nice pics of my kids.

Seems that I had the phone on in my pocket and the camera Icon got oddly stuck partially visible off the bottom of the screen from an inadvertent pocket long press. Then the camera icon went away altogether.
Now when I try to add an icon in the spot where it was (lower right stock position) a black circle appears and swallows up whatever I put there. It's like a folder, but it is invisible until I try to place the camera icon or any other icon there. Acts like a black hole. I can add the camera Icon back to any home screen, just not to that far right spot on the favorites tray.
I was running the JI6 2.2 with cognition beta5.5 and was attempting to update however I needed to swap kernels since the current kernel didn't verify signatures. I was using vmware on a mac and i started it but then continued to use the mac side however the computer disconnected the phone from the windows side and now it is stuck showing an image of a phone next to a computer with a triangle with a ! in it between the two. Pressing all hardware buttons does nothing but black the screen and go back to the same screen. I've taken out the battery, sim, unplugged the cord, everything. Can't get back into download mode to redo the kernal swap. It's definitely connected to a valid, and working, usb port and i am now on windows itself instead of vmware. What do I do?

I've lost Multi Touch Zoom on the Dolphin Browser Since the 2.1 update.
The native browser will not multi touch zoom either (I thought this was supposed to be included in the update).
Any ideas? I can't find a setting to turn it on.
As the title says, i've lost the default image viewer. My phone had a minor update which changed the way it receives further updates and added Backup & Restore.
But since I have lost the default image viewer. So without crappy mediascape I'm no longer able to click through my images, zoom and set as wallpaper. Has anyone else come across this? Is there a way I can download default software again? Pretty agrovate about this, x10 has been a nightmare since day 1.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running rubix focused .5 and its been great, I installed the camera-search-voice fix and didnt have any problems along with having full camera functionality. Eventually I decided to try the Incognito theme since it had a "blurless" version. I noticed it changed my camera icon obviously but I didnt actually open it. I decided I didnt like it, so I restored my nandroid I made immediately before putting the theme on. Next thing I notice, my camera shortcuts are the generic green apk icon. And they dont work, at all.
I nandroid restore to an even earlier back-up (from right after applying rubix) and still no camera functionality. It doesnt appear in my apps under manage applications, the blurcamera.apk is in the system folder, and I tried deleting/replacing that again, and installing it right from the apk and I get an install failed. I don't understand how I could lose my camera app when I restore to a back-up that had it working fine.
I need to start the Camera activity from within my application, take a picture, and return the photo URI to another activity. Surely this should be straightforward? But the Camera API sample code doesn't show how to get the URI. I can't find the answer on this forum, either.
