View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 2 Gmail Accounts, one for business/school and the other for friends/personal/gtalk. Is there anyway I can run my gmail app with the business account and Gtalk with the other account? It's kind of obnoxious to have to switch back and forth.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a CLIQ that has gtalk always running, and sometimes I'm also on a PC with gtalk running on gmail. How can I control which device I'm chatting on? I notice that sometimes when I leave my PC and go for lunch or something and someone sends me a gtalk message, I don't get it on my phone. Only after checking my chat history in gmail do I see it. This sometimes happens even after I shut down my PC if the user sends a message right after I do so.

This has been so frustrating since I purchased the Droid, and a quick google search showed that this is a problem many have but google was not exactly rushing to fix!
Issue 4190 - android - Gmail Notifications Bug?Project Hosting on Google Code.I stumbled upon Gmail Notifier (free) in the android market a couple of days ago, and it fixes the problem! Plus, it has has multi-account support and custom options regarding LED color, vibration length, etc. And it does not run in the background, so no decreased battery life, etc.The original version did not have support for multiple accounts, but I sent a quick email to the Dev and he fixed it in the new update that came today!I'm using it in conjunction with Gmail Unread Count widgets, and finally the email on my Droid is up to par with (well, actually better than) my old blackberry!
I am unable to use Gtalk, gmail, Maps, Market, Email (all pre installed) using GPRS/EDGE (Vodafone Live) on my Milestone. But All of these works with Wi-Fi connection. I installed Meeboo Messanger, this is also not working with GPRS/EDGE.
I called Motorola Customer care, they are saying that I have to take a DataPlan from Vodafone and should ask Vodafone to activate all GPRS/EDGE settings on my mobile. So I took a DataPlan (200 Rs. 100 MB), Vodafone People are saying that all available setting are already activated on my cell. But I am still unable to use any of them above. Every time no network connection found error is coming.
So I got my my Touch 3G 1.2. The phone looks mostly clean and everything works fine. However, on the battery there's a tab with red/pink lines criss-cross patterns on it. Does that mean it's been exposed to water?
View 2 Replies View RelatedGoogled this issue and can't seem to find the resolution. I am using the Gmail app which came pre-installed on the phone. I have entered my account details, I can send emails but I don't get a notification when I receive an email to my Gmail Inbox. I have checked the settings and I have setup a ringtone and selected the option to flag up an icon in the notification bar. However the only way I know I have an email is if I open the app. I have a task manager and Gmail is on the ignore list.

If I download and app and I decide I don't want it, How do I get rid of it? Sorry for the (probably stupid) questions, but these two things are really bugging me at the moment.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI love how neatly Google Voice Typing works for English. But when I try to dictate on my native language, Spanish, it won't recognize commands such as "question mark", "comma", or things like that. If I say them in Spanish, it will write the whole thing, ie: "Signo de exclamacion"...I just want it to be able to transcribe it to a "!" sign, a "?", etc. I also attempted to say them in English (while dictating Spanish), it will just get confused.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just switched from my old iPhone to an HTC EVO a week ago. I'm a heavy user of Google apps, including Gmail of course. My question is regarding notification options. On my iPhone, I liked that I could set up mail to only vibrate with a new message. With Android, it looks like there's a default notification sound you can set up in the "Sound and Display" phone settings. And while in the Gmail app, you can get more granular, specifying a different ringtone if you like and add vibe. But there's no option to vibe only! Am I missing something? Maybe something for a future update?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a nice Gmail Notification Widget, that shows me the Unread message count via an Icon on the homepage. Clicking it opens Gmail.
Since I currently use HTC Sense on my EVO, I also have a standard "Email" icon/widget that does the same. However that Widget is HTC Sense only and I'm looking to switch to a new launcher...
Is there any 3rd party standard android widgets that will show a simple 1x1 icon (preferably customizable) with your non-gmail email count?
I'm used to my BB which changes the gmail icon to one with an asterisk when i have new emails on gmail. the droid (android) does not. there's a pop up in the notifier bar but after that disappears there's not way to tell quickly if there's new mail received. is there anything i'm missing or an app that can notify me on the home screen that there's new email in my gmail inbox?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI'd like my Android app to receive notification when new messages arrive in my gmail account. I realize that the Android gmail client does not broadcast notification when it receives messages. Instead I want to utilize the gmail server's Cloud to Device Messaging capabilities to do this. I read the article at http://code.google.com/android/c2dm/ - the only "missing piece" for me is to understand how my app sends a
registration ID to the gmail server. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
I saw a few similar threads but no answered my question. Is there an app that will show me how many gmail emails I have in my status bar. I know there are ones for a widget but I'm looking more for the status bar as opposed to a widget.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to get an intent when the user receives a mail and to cancel the gmail notification?

I turned off notification in the HTC Mail app and I dont even have any accounts in that one. I do have 3 gmail accounts in the Gmail app. Every new email will trip the notification twice. Its a bit annoying. How do I fix it to show only once?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if there's a way/app to set a notification for each e-mail (gmail)?
I'd really like to hear my notification sound, once, for each e-mail. Currently, I get a notification for the first e-mail, then no notification for subsequent e-mails until I check/clear the notification.
I'd also like to see each e-mail in the notification area (versus grouping all new e-mails in one notification), if possible, with a preview or something (similar to how my blackberry handled it). But I'd be content with just a sound.
Is anyone else having issues with gmail notifications? I check my gmail and have emails from a day ago but no notifications have come through. Sync for each account is turned on and background data is turned on. I have factory reset twice and it has fixed nothing. Deleted all folders in my gmail accounts as well.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhy is it that sometimes when I receive emails I get two notifications for one email? They are different formats of notifications though. Both from Gmail just different looking screens. I usually get the outlined envelope in my notification bar but sometimes will get that and also the solid white envelope. Both are the same email just two different notifications. Doesn't happen all the time. Any ideas?
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan someone tell me why when I get a notification for a new Gmail e-mail, I pull down the notification slider and click on it to view it. View 13 Replies View RelatedSo, I've searched for an answer but am not getting any where.. Here is my dilemma. When someone sends an email to my yahoo account, the phone vibrates and the led flashes. Perfect. But when someone sends an email to my Gmail account, I get the Notification sound, the vibration and the led flash. Not good, especially at 1 am when I am sleeping. I can not figure out why gmail is activating the notification sound and yahoo mail is not. (Probably something simple, and I am missing it...) I would greatly appreciate if someone can explain to me how to kill just the gmail notification sounds, without effecting any other notifications. Also, I have noticed that when I get a new message notification, I can open the widget on the main screen to read the email, and it shows read, but the task bar notification is still there, and when I drag it down, it shows the message is still unread. Any ideas.
