My Tattoo HTC, running Android, was stopped three days ago. And it didn't want to start again.The Shut Down happened by itself. It was in charge connected to my PC with OS XP.It vibrated twice, then it stopped. And since it didn't want to boot. No sign of life.

Just got my new Tattoo, my 1st android device. It feels quite different from my nokia days. Would like to start with a good antivirus that would work on the tattoo. Pleeease help. I'm afraid of visiting the android market on my phone to prevent any infections, I did on my laptop but couldn't come up with any.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have Tatoo for 2 weeks and I have problem with phone memory. There are cca 25mb of apps installed and phone is showing 21mb/165mb free and alerting low disk space. Is there cache I can clear or something? My girlfriend also has Tatoo and it is showing her correct amount(120mb/165mb free).
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have made a huge mistake on my Htc Tattoo, what i have done, is that when you are trying to open the phone, you should type a pattern, but then i made a pattern wich i couldn't remember, that resulted in that when i tried to open my phone, i should type my Google Account, but when i did this, my phone still wouldn't open.The question i would ask you guys about now, is:Is there any way that i can take a backup of my phone, eventhough it's closed (like i could acces it from the computer or something?), of all the apps, of all my phone settings and all the other things that i have made on it?
If this was an option, i would reset my phone, and then download the settings over to the phone again, so really need you help to this, thanks!
My accelerometer for HTC Tattoo does not work. The compass either. The Sensor List application does not display any coordinates for any of the sensors, just like they don't work. As I've read, I think the accelerometer driver is akmd, and if I run a ps, it's not running. More than that, I can't even find it in system/bin... There are also no akmd* files in data/misc. I am using Cupcake 1.67 (tried 1.65 too and it doesn't work either).Any tutorial on how to gain root access? Maybe that will help (though I did have root access before reflashing and tried the old rm /data/misc/akmd* stuff, but that didn't help).
View 2 Replies View RelatedUse mail exchange and works great but has a small, but my big problem, can not receive (open) attachments, hours and hours spent I am hoping that I'll fail to find an answer but nothing. It is interesting that the attachment can be sent without a problem, but not receive. The incoming mail click on the download attachments on it apparently does not take it but not on an SD card or the device. I am hoping that the problem could possibly solve the master reset the device does the same and in the end we create an even bigger problem ... now can not even set up mail or use a browser, entering the same does not happen is absolutely nothing! tried to erase the memory of browser and other features, but nothing goes the better!
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy newly bought Tattoo became unbootable a few days ago.It worked perfectly fine two days ago, then it started to randomly reboot itself, but after that, it became completely unbootable, as in, it was stuck at the "TATTOO" screen. The phone internals are completely untouched, no custom images, not rooted, no nothing, it's factory fresh.The battery is full too, and I didn't install anything that could possibly have corrupted the bootloader (or whatever is failing to load).I already tried to wipe the user data _TWICE_ (using HOME + BACK + POWER) with no success. I'm also perfectly able to get into HBOOT (using VOLDOWN + MENU + POWER), and connect via usb (using "FASTBOOT USB" from HBOOT). However, I can't completely wipe the cache with fastboot.exe from the android-sdk, since it doesn't allow it: "erasing 'cache'... FAILED (remote: not allow)".

But when I try to dictate on my native language, Spanish, it won't recognize commands such as "question mark", "comma", or things like that. If I say them in Spanish, it will write the whole thing, ie: "Signo de exclamacion"...I just want it to be able to transcribe it to a "!" sign, a "?", etc. I also attempted to say them in English (while dictating Spanish), it will just get confused.

I have poor reception anyway But I found out that if I stand near a wall in my office an tile my head at 55 degrees, then I get 'ok' reception (exaggerating) But this is with other phones. The Tattoo doesn't want to know And I have to move to somewhere where there is a much stronger reception
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am thinking of getting one of these for my girlfriends Xmas but would be getting it on a tariff without a data plan, relying on wi-fi for any data requirements. We were in the orange shop briefly - so i could sneakily test the water as to which phones she likes - She likes the look of the Tattoo and loves the idea of custom cases (her idea of a good phone is very superficial) but hasn't used a smartphone for any longer than 10 minutes. She doesn't like WinMo because it is very straight-laced and business orientated. I played with a hero in the orange shop and found it a pleasure to use but i have been using smartphones for a few years now. I have a couple of questions :
Will the Tattoo be usable/of any use without a data plan? What will work? what doesn't?
How easy is Android to use for a complete beginner to smartphones? She currently has a Samsung D600 (which she loves). Is she going to struggle to use basic functions?

I've had my Tatto for a couple of days and wanted to pair it with my bluetooth headset for driving. The headset is quite new, but has no makers ref on it so can't find out what it's setting are, but when its on and the Tattoo is scanning, it is never found... I have also tried making the Tatto discoverable during this process as assume its a two way process....

Finally go to the development team and explained about the screen size on the Tattoo and they need to "sign" the file as compatible. I've searched everywhere to disable this option but i can't find anywhere.
