Oct 20, 2010I have a Droid X with the OTA 2.2 rooted and when I put the phone in Vibrate the phone will not vibrate at all not for phone calls, text, or email? I have "MINI INFO WIDGET" and when I go in there to adjust the volume to vibrate it will work but then when I try to go back to Sound Profile I have to manually adjust the sound again? I have Vibrate Widget and when that is selected it goes to silent only. I tried Uninstalling MINI INFO and VIBRATE WIDGET but I still have the same result sooo it can't be the programs.

Feb 3, 2010So I never had this problem before, and I don't know what I may have changed that started it. Before my eris would play the notification sound within a second of the vibration. Now, my phone lags for about 2 or 3 seconds, vibrating first, then ringing. use the native SMS program, and I don't want to have to download any new apps like chompSMS or anything, I just want my phone to start working again.

Nov 7, 2009Both my wife and I have the droid, no matter what we set our status to (available, DND) in the gtalk app we appear away to everyone. The status messages seem to update fine though. Is their a setting we're missing, or is there a bug in the gtalk app?

Jan 24, 2010So I did a rename to the file gtalkservice.apk to *.bak. I never use the app because I have eBuddy. But since I did it I am getta the error that com.google.process.gapps is force closing when I reboot the phone. Is this caused because gtalk is gone? And why?
Now the weirdest thing is that GTalk is still there, but I've previously been successful on Visual Voicemail, and others.

Nov 23, 2009So sometimes I'll go into my contacts and notice that some of them have the green ball lit up telling me that they are online in gtalk. Now I am not signed onto gtalk... but yet somehow I see that in my running services that GTalkService is running.
I can only assume that its eating away battery trying to see how is online and not. I certainly don't need this info unless I wish to go online myself... in which case I would actually go into the gtalk app.
ANyways, obviously i've been killing it in the running services, but it just comes back all on its own. ANy idea why or how to stop it?

It will vibrate a fair amount if the volume is on, but when I put the phone to vibrate only, the ONLY thing that vibrates is the ringer. I find this to be a general annoyance with Android I think. Anyone know a way I can customize the vibration settings for notifications (text, email, etc) when the phone is on silent (vibrate only)?

Nov 24, 2009As the title says really, I cannot get my Hero to vibrate when I get a text message. In Messages > Settings > Vibrate, the option is ticked but even if I untick / restart / retick it still doesn't work. I've also tried pressing the volume button down to vibrate mode and back again but that makes no difference.I've even tried working with Handcent and yet I still cannot get the vibrate working. Everything else works such as the status bar notification but that's it.The vibrate part is definitely working for phone calls and other apps so I don't think that it's a hardware problem. Any idea what could be causing it? I'm using the latest official UK Orange ROM.

Feb 26, 2014I like to set my phone to vibrate so incoming calls will vibrate, but then like to configure so that incoming emails and texts do not vibrate. My gmail does this correctly but any text app I use (currently hello sms) will vibrate even though I uncheck the box for that in settings. I'm using a Nexus 5 and 4.4.2 based rom. Is there a fix for this?

Is there a setting or app that would allow me to add a "gtalk" icon to a contact so that when I select a contact I would get the option to directly "talk/chat" with them via "Gtalk"?
Currently, when I select a contact I get the following icons:
"phone or call", "edit info", and "Instant Message"
I'd like to add to that list the "Gtalk" option.

When my Hero receives a new email, the flashball notifices me about it, but the notification sound and vibrate do not work even though I have them both checked in the settings (the sound is also selected). However, when I receive a new sms message, all of them work perfectly.

Not only is this unpleasant when I have the phone to my ear, but it's also an annoyance to the person I'm talking to as they hear the vibrate sounds. In fact any time I'm talking to my girlfriend and my phone vibrates, she asks "who is texting you now?" I really just want the notification turned off while I'm on a call. Motorola Droid X :: Best Way To Vibrate
Jul 27, 2010I was able to change to a vibrate profile very quickly, which simply put the whole phone, both calls and messages in a vibrate mode. On the Droid X, the only way that I've found to do this is to turn the ringer volumn all the way down and then go one more step and it turns it to vibrate. Is this correct? I mean, is there an easier way. I was hoping for a widget or something that I can just hit and it would put it in vibrate quickly and then hit it again to return to where I was before.

May 1, 2010I just got the HTC Incredible and one of the things I haven't been able to figure out is how to set incoming phone calls to vibrate, yet play the notification sound. None of the profiles seems to make that combination happen. If I switch it to silent, no sound or vibrations happen for calls or notifications. In the vibrate profile, both calls and notifications only vibrate. In normal mode, I can't get calls to vibrate only. If I slide the call ringer volume all the way down and slide notification volume up, it switches it to silent mode. If I have call ringer volume up one notch from silent, it still plays the ringtone. Is this something I can accomplish or do I have to have silent calls only if I still want notifications played?
