I had screen mode widget installed and it was not working correctly, so I uninstalled and tried to reinstall. I went to market and it displays it as installed but it does not give me an option to open or uninstall which is the other button. The two options show up on the bottom but they are light grey and do not function.

I want to force App Widget in portrait mode, as we force our activity in portrait mode by adding this attribute in Menifest file android:screenOrientation = "portrait". is there any way to force App Widget in portrait mode?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis widget was the first glimpse to me of the awesomeness of ANDROID.Within the first couple weeks of having my droid, I began getting annoyed with the Lock Screen while I browsing the web (probably sponging up info from this forum).I then thought, " well,I wonder if there is any way to modify this.. Some app that would disable the lock screen." Low and behold, someone else was already tackling this problem! I found ScreenModeWidget suggested somewhere on the net and searched for it in the market.It wasn't pretty but it did it's job and I loved it. The only problem with it was that the volume and the camera buttons would involuntarily turn the screen on.
This almost made it useless. Especially if you wanted to throw your droid in your pocket.Well it seems like Sam finally figured it all out and has released Screen Mode Widget Lite and Screen Mode Widget Pro. I went straight for PRO to show this dev some love so I'm not sure how different the lite version is (I believe it just has an ad one the setup screen). But I can tell you that the PRO is flawless on my Droid.It has 3 different modes: Lock Mode operates your phone like normal Unlock Mode allows your screen to come back on without swiping and Screen Stay will keep your screen on continuously. He added protection for the volume and camera buttons (clutch!) and it has a very handy and simple widget to toggle between modes.Again, to me this is a must have app. It is something I have been looking for since I got my Droid and I am not the only one... I think it took quite some time for the dev to get it right so I would encourage people to donate, it's only like 1 buck! Hope this helps some people
I want to root my Samsung Moment so that I can put Live Wallpapers on it and such, but every time I go to DL mode my computer says "USB Device Not Recognized" I have tried with and without USB Debugging on, install uninstall Drivers, going to REGEDIT to erase SAMSUNG drivers, formatting my phone, two different USB cables, three machines, and yet IT-STILL-WONT-WORK. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been running varying versions of cyanogenmod 10.1 and 10.2 for about year on my T-Mobile Galaxy S3, but today I tried to update it to a version of 11 today without a computer, just on my phone through the standard Cyanogenmod built in rom updater. It downloaded fine, but when attempting to install it it had an error and stopped. Now the only thing my phone will do is boot into clockwork mod recovery mode, and download mode. The download mode won't be recognized by kies or my computer, though my computer does make a beep sound when I plug it in. I have tried a lot of things, but nothing at all will work so my phone is essentially bricked right now.

But now where it was on my homescreen it has a black box that says problem loading widget. How in the world do I get that off!

It is annoying, especially since I do not use it. Tried to turn it off but it comes back by itself. The people at AT&T ddisabled it but it came back after a few hours.

Youtube app has never worked correctly and now doesn't work at all Since I've had the droid x the youtube app had given myself and others the log in problems where you try to log in and it will log you in"username@youtube.com" how and why does it even do this? The error "There is a problem with network response" I've had since the beginning aswell only now force closes on it self.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am designing a home screen widget. I ran this widget on a HTC Hero device, which has a screen of 320 pixels * 480 pixels with mdpi. It ran perfect on HTC Hero. The widget takes 3 cells * 2 cells space, i.e. 240 pixels * 200 pixels.Then I ran this widget on a Nexus One device, which has a screen of 480 pixels * 800 pixels, mdpi. Since Nexus One also is mdpi, so I though 240dip is equivalent to 240 pixels on Nexus One and 200dip is equivalent to 200 pixels on Nexus One, so the widget will not take 3 cells * 2 cells space on Nexus One device. To my surprise, when running on Nexus One device, the widget take exact 3 cells * 2 cells, about 360 pixels * 300 pixels, on Nexus One device.I am confused. The layout xml above specifies 240dip in width and 200dip in height for the widget, but why did it take 360 pixels * 300 pixels on Nexus One Device? What am I missing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Star Note N9770 which had a smashed display - daughter knelt on it. The phone still appeared to work, though we couldn't see anything. I bought a "bricked" N9770 on eBay and used the display unit from that (it really was bricked - wouldn't turn on or charge) to replace the smashed unit.
We now have a display and everything appears to work and it charges. Except for the colours on the display - they are very pale/faint/washed out (hard to describe but the full range of colours doesn't appear in the display - just mostly greens and pinks and all a bit grainy). I've tried the brightness and contrast levels, factory reset, hard reset, etc, but it makes no difference.
I'm guessing that this display unit is slightly different from the original, even though all the connections were identical and tbh, it reminds me of a driver issue in a PC.
I have been able to scale-up my application in WVGA skins pretty easily for my app.But in WVGA mode the widget seem to be not working as desired.Sometimes the widget just gives the message "No more room in the Home Screen" even though there is space.Some times it takes up the whole screen without considering the size mentioned in the configuration files.And even strangely sometimes it hust gives me the desired behaviour.Are there are any know issues for the WVGA mode as far as widgets are concerned.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI'm running a d1 with LFY on it and wanted to see how widget locker runs for everyone else. Its cool but its also somewhat irritating.The most irritating this is I have "easy wake mode" disabled but I notice that still like 10% of the time touching the volume or camera button will wake the phone.I wind up with my phone buzzing around in my pocket frequently because its woken up and thinks i'm trying to unlock it.The other issue I have is it seems to get killed a lot.I realize that isn't really a fault of WL as much as its a ram issue (launcher pro gets killed a little more often than I'd like too despite trying what seems like every possible memory setting) but is there anything I can do about that?Something that will perhaps be sure its relaunched more promptly?

This is because the application layer of the phone is not receiving the hardware layer's data correctly (hold talk button, end call button, and middle button upon starting up your turned-off phone, this boots in test mode which shows you hardware layer battery power, aka the correct battery life estimate). It's causing another problem because some applications can't be run when the phone THINKS it's about to die.

I think these are for baseline HVGA screen. How about for large screens and hdpi screens, do they still have 4*4 cells for widget and each cell in portrait orientation is still 80 pixels * 100 pixels?

I want this as my phone mostly locks itself into GPRS (2G/2.5G) mode in my area where 3G is available but often low signal strength. Usually I switch it by going through the menu.
Settings --> Wireless & networks --> Mobile networks --> Network Mode (and switch it from "GSM / WCDMA auto" to "WCDMA only"
Is there anyway to do this through a widget? Like the widgets that let you turn on and off bluetooth/wi-fi. I've looked through android market and haven't found anything yet. Does one exist if not is it not to difficult to make an app that does this.
I have two gallery widgets in same screen. If user flings on top gallery widget I would like to replicate the same fling motion on the other gallery widget thats beneath the first one. Is there a way I can possibly achieve this.

Problem is, I forget to turn the sound back on. I'd love an app that lets me tell it to go into silent mode, but come out in, say, 15 minutes. Does it exist?
