Jun 28, 2010
I have what i think is a problem with beautiful widgets and maybe plane mode.I noticed that when i would use the widget to turn oj plane mode at work, my awake time and up time were exactly the same. After i uninstalled BW, ky awake time and up time were hours apart.Installed BW again and as soon as I would use any of the widgets, sameproblem, whether it is WiFi, vibrate, or plane widget.

Can anyone give me an idea what sort of battery life to expect from my Desire if its in plane safe mode being used purely as an MP3 player? I'm off on holiday on Sunday and was contemplating leaving my iPod at home and loading my Desire up with tunes and using it during the day when I'm lounging in the sun.

Since ppl are going crazy about where their phone is and when it will arrive.maybe this helps some of you
I know it has been posted on here before...but I couldn't find it and I am not sure if it's the same page the other person posted but here is a link to life tracking of different cargo planes (leaving Memphis and other destinations) on the left search for FDX which is fed ex.it shows all locations....for Memphis...I would say go to the top left and do a live tracking and look for FDX going out to wherever your destination is.

Considering buying Beautiful Widgets, just for the clock (the small clock here on the right But I don't want to buy it, if you can't use the clock without the weather-part. Beautiful Widgets has been downloaded so many times, one of you must have it and be able to answer my question Alternatively, is there another clock only widget, that uses the same font?

I just bought Beautiful Widget and selected the clock and weather skins. My questions is: how do you get it on the home screen. I've tried a few things but the stock home screen is still there.

This would apply to any widget. It just so happens that on most screens (all but my home screen) I have the "Beautify Smaller Home" or whatever its called at the very top. I like easily seeing the time from each screen. And I think it looks nice. Beautiful might be a stretch... but I understand the marketing. But the hypothetical question still applies. If I had the "music" widget or the "messaging" widget on EVERY page. Would that widget use more battery than just one instance? In other words, does EACH INSTANCE of the widget poll for data? Or does the process just poll for data and then each widget just repaints itself on its respective screen as appropriate? I need to know! I'm wondering if I disable "beautiful home" from all but one screens if my battery life will improve. What do you think? Are there any hard-core techies out there that can help me figure it out?

I have an Eris and running 2.1 (not rooted) Just started using Launcher Pro. One problem to resolve. I installed Beautiful Widgets - Home as I thought it acted the same as it does on HTC Sense. The location is good, the time is good but when I touch the weather part of the widget, it stays static. I expected to get to see the "forecast" for the next few days.
Also I expected it to be somewhat animated when it is invoked (fog, rain drops, sun throbbing, windshield wipers) as that's the way it is on HTC. I thinks some of you are using this app here on LP. Can you tell me what settings to use to get these features (animated weather and weather forecast) to work? Do I have to download and use a skin other than the default one? If this is a Beautiful Widgets developer question. Does someone have the developer's email as it's not provided in the site (in France I believe).

I love the look of the Fancy Widget over the Beautiful Widgets. However I was playing around with the features of BW and I like the unlock animation. Well... I set up BW to have that and then I deleted it and added Fancy Widget and I still get the unlock animations. Worked even after a reboot.

I have a couple different weather apps.
I recently purchased Beautiful Widgets.
It has been raining hard all day, and even with GPS update activated, it said it was cloudy all day and it seemed to be about 4-5 degrees off every other site.
Is anyone else having Beautiful Widget mis-weather info?

So what I'd like to do is take fonts from some of the free font packs available from the market, and use them as fonts in Beautiful Widgets.I've installed them, but BW doesn't see them. I've copied the font .apks over to my sdcard so I can play with them, but from there I'm lost. Do I pull the fonts out of the .apks with 7zip and push them to a particular directory in adb?I could also be completely wrong and not know what the hell I'm talking about. Any advice would be great.

I'm just starting to get the hang of Sweeter Home Preview 2. And as many of you already know, some widgets (like Beautiful Home) won't update consistantly. I'm going to email the dev my finding so hopefully he can rectify this issue. But in the meantime, you can try this fix/work-around. My Beautiful Home widget has been keeping the correct time for almost 12 hours now ... through many edits, screen changes, and reboots. That was not the case just yesterday. What I finally did was experiment with the "Layer Level" parameter of everything on the screen. What I found was that if the Beautiful Home widget was on the highest level (10), that it will update with no problems. In fact, I have no other Layer Level 10 items on the screen where I'm using that widget.

I LOVE the beautiful weather widget and the corresponding live wallpaper. My only question is if anyone knows if it does wetaher alerts like the weather channel widget does. I love TWC widget as it has awesome wetaher alert capability along with an easily accessible radar map that's fullly interactive - anything similar on beautiful weather?

Why doesn't Beautiful Widgets allow the weather animation on the home screen? The animations show in the 3 day forecast but not on the home screen. Are there any apps that enable you to change the clock and still enable weather animations? I hate the stock clock.

Loved the look of my Incredible home page. Installed Launcher Pro and managed to find the setting to get my 7 screens back, then bought the Beautiful Widgets, but getting the exact skin is elusive. I'd like to get it to look just like the Inc. Also, is there a way to change the setting once it's on the screen? I have to drag the icon to the trash, then add a new one each time to change it. At least it remembers the last settings.

This widget was the first glimpse to me of the awesomeness of ANDROID.Within the first couple weeks of having my droid, I began getting annoyed with the Lock Screen while I browsing the web (probably sponging up info from this forum).I then thought, " well,I wonder if there is any way to modify this.. Some app that would disable the lock screen." Low and behold, someone else was already tackling this problem! I found ScreenModeWidget suggested somewhere on the net and searched for it in the market. It wasn't pretty but it did it's job and I loved it. The only problem with it was that the volume and the camera buttons would involuntarily turn the screen on.
This almost made it useless. Especially if you wanted to throw your droid in your pocket.Well it seems like Sam finally figured it all out and has released Screen Mode Widget Lite and Screen Mode Widget Pro. I went straight for PRO to show this dev some love so I'm not sure how different the lite version is (I believe it just has an ad one the setup screen). But I can tell you that the PRO is flawless on my Droid. It has 3 different modes: Lock Mode operates your phone like normal Unlock Mode allows your screen to come back on without swiping and Screen Stay will keep your screen on continuously. He added protection for the volume and camera buttons (clutch!) and it has a very handy and simple widget to toggle between modes.Again, to me this is a must have app. It is something I have been looking for since I got my Droid and I am not the only one... I think it took quite some time for the dev to get it right so I would encourage people to donate, it's only like 1 buck! Hope this helps some people

I have been able to scale-up my application in WVGA skins pretty easily for my app.But in WVGA mode the widget seem to be not working as desired.Sometimes the widget just gives the message "No more room in the Home Screen" even though there is space. Some times it takes up the whole screen without considering the size mentioned in the configuration files. And even strangely sometimes it hust gives me the desired behaviour. Are there are any know issues for the WVGA mode as far as widgets are concerned.

I'm looking for a widget which turns the phone into 3G/HSDPA only mode.
I want this as my phone mostly locks itself into GPRS (2G/2.5G) mode in my area where 3G is available but often low signal strength. Usually I switch it by going through the menu.
Settings --> Wireless & networks --> Mobile networks --> Network Mode (and switch it from "GSM / WCDMA auto" to "WCDMA only"
Is there anyway to do this through a widget? Like the widgets that let you turn on and off bluetooth/wi-fi. I've looked through android market and haven't found anything yet. Does one exist if not is it not to difficult to make an app that does this.
