when I try to post a new topic, I received a email saying that I am treated as spam and my message is not able to delivered. And there is a link to dreamhost. I believe that is a spam email and if any one is able to see my post, can you please reply me so that I know my posts can be seen.

Dear 2.2 Sense users, I am very much interested to know whether the updated OS brings respite to the most frustrating issues of my present software system
1) Do sms reports work well? Is there an option for notification when a message is delivered? Is the delivery report icon next to the message different when undelivered and delivered?
2) Can vCards sent via SMS be imported into the contact book easily? Does the import function really work?
3) Changing a contact's Display name: The same contact may have different names for different accounts, such as his face book profile, google profile, and how I've saved it in my phone. I know I can select any one of these to be displayed in my people app and for dialing, but does it stay that way? Presently the name keeps changing back to default and it's so damn frustrating.
4) Do face book profile pics in the contacts update on their own while syncing?
5) Can I change the password of my face book and gmail account in the phone's account settings?
6) Does the notification LED blink continuously if there's a notification, rather than give up after a few minutes?
7) Has shutdown speed improved?
I've tried searching up the forums and found that some people had this bug and it was fixed by doing the *228 option 2. I tried that and when I use Handcent it still says the message is not delivered and sometimes it just flat out sends a blank message.The text is going to an email not an actual phone number but I'd like to keep handcent because I really like the pop up and the GUI. Would anyone have any other tips or tricks to help me get rid of this annoying error?Well i guess I forgot to mention some things.I updated my phone to 2.1 last night with the "new" leak I guess you call it.I tried restarting my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling handcent.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen someone on the verizon network sends me a text longer then 160char's, they recieve a message that looks like the following: MEssage delivered to 5555551234 as plain text destination does not support enhanced messaging.and I recieve a message saying:the preceding msg modified, media objects were removed.Why do they recieve this does is this phone seriously not able to recieve longer texts than 160 or does it not automatically split it up?? How can I prevent this annoyance from occuring?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI downloaded Handcent from the Android market. This is a great application for sending sms's and mms's, but when I send a message it is delivered twice. That is because the default message application is still installed on the phone and the message is therefor automatically send through Handcent and the default message app. Can I delete the default message app from my phone without corrupting the software on the phone? I don't want to implement the factory reset on my phone, have too many apps that I don't want to loose or reinstall.

View 7 Replies View Relatedso just to clarify, this isn't another one of those "Why doesn't my message show as delivered?" threads. I already know it CAN be done, I found that out accidentally. It worked once, but I don't know how to make it work again.What I did when it worked: I sent my sister a message and then quickly switched over to iheartradio. Her message wasn't sending and the station was stuck at connecting, so I power cycled the phone. Then the message sent and to the right of it there's a green circle with a check mark. If I touch that, it says "Report" and then the receiver's name and "Status: Received." So,does this only work when there's an error to begin with or what?!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem with my desire home screen (in particular the sms icon) and I'm wondering if anyone else knows how to fix it.
Recently my messages icon has been showing the little "1" in a green circle indicating I have an unread message. Problem is, I've gone through every list of messages I have on the device and there are no messages I haven't read and the "1" stays there. The only ways I've found to get rid of it are to either delete the icon and then put it back or to use Advance Task Killer and kill messages application. I'm not using any fancy apps for messages, just the default one.
My email counter is always perfect, this only seems to affect my sms. Also, my girlfriend told me she sent me a message a few days ago, but I never received it. Not sure if that's a happy coincidence, or if the phone got the message, is telling me I haven't read it, but isn't displaying it for me to see. All the other messages from her are plainly visible.
On my old phone (Samsung something) I used to be able to see my text message would have a green arrow when they were sent, and then they got a black check mark when they were delivered (as long as the recipient has Verizon).Is there a similar system on the Incredible? How can I tell?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.

1. Problems receiving picture messages. Specifically receiving a message saying "Message not downloaded. Retransmission scheduled for XX:XX", even if you click "Download" button multiple times.
2. When receiving a text message longer than 160 characters, you get a message saying "The preceding messages modified. Media objects removed." and the sender gets a message saying that you do not support enhanced messaging service, even though you DO actually receive the entire message. I know the Incredible doesn't have this problem, but the Eris does.
When I send text messages to individual it sends them as plain SMS, this works with my free allocation of texts.When I send text messages to a group (a list of 7 individuals) it sends them as 7 "Picture Messages" - this costs me money!. The message has no pictures and is short?How can I force the phone to not send picture messages?

Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI finally bit the bullet and switch to the HTC Eris from an Env. I am a heavy texter and live just outside of the service area for Verizon. I have downloaded and am using (and happy with) handcent. I have done some searching between this forum and a few others and have not been able to find an answer to my questions regarding sms messaging. It is very likely that I just wasn't searching for the correct terms, and I did find some answers and others that contradicted themselves, so I apologize in advance for starting a repeat thread if any thread nazis want to lecture me on the rights and wrongs of forum etiquette.
1. Is there anyway to see what time a message was sent? On my Env it would tell me what time the sender sent it as well as the time I received it. I like being able to know when mesages were originally sent.
2. Delivery reports. I get what this does, I've seen that some people have said that it really isn't accurate, but does it really have to send the report as a text message? is there anyway to just get a log or confirmation within messaging details?
3. along the same lines I see that under MMS, there is an option for a read report. Is there anyway to get this for sms?
4. Also, if there are any other texting tips/tricks
