On my old phone (Samsung something) I used to be able to see my text message would have a green arrow when they were sent, and then they got a black check mark when they were delivered (as long as the recipient has Verizon).Is there a similar system on the Incredible? How can I tell?

so just to clarify, this isn't another one of those "Why doesn't my message show as delivered?" threads. I already know it CAN be done, I found that out accidentally. It worked once, but I don't know how to make it work again.What I did when it worked: I sent my sister a message and then quickly switched over to iheartradio. Her message wasn't sending and the station was stuck at connecting, so I power cycled the phone. Then the message sent and to the right of it there's a green circle with a check mark. If I touch that, it says "Report" and then the receiver's name and "Status: Received." So,does this only work when there's an error to begin with or what?!
View 19 Replies View RelatedWhen someone on the verizon network sends me a text longer then 160char's, they recieve a message that looks like the following: MEssage delivered to 5555551234 as plain text destination does not support enhanced messaging.and I recieve a message saying:the preceding msg modified, media objects were removed.Why do they recieve this does is this phone seriously not able to recieve longer texts than 160 or does it not automatically split it up?? But ever since I rooted and started swapping ROM's frequently, it no longer works for texts. I read about downloading Sound Manager and checking Vibrate settings but everything is right there too... The only ROM that vibrate works with is Virtuous, however I don't really like Sense so I'm currently on Ruby 1.1.1.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI must be an idiot but I cannot figure out how to select text that I have input.Say I type a paragraph and want to copy only part of it (this is still text I'm still inputting) . I long press to get the menu and choose 'select text', I get the cursor with the arrow but when I try anything, the entire paragraph gets selected. This is ONE thing the iPhone did great. Which leads to this question, is there an app that simulates the iPhone text selector (magnifying glass) ?

If I want to correct a letter in the middle of a long piece of text, how do I get there? View 3 Replies View Relatedso my droid incredible began to slow down && i had to figure out what was making my phone so slow.. come to find out.. it was Handcent SMS -- the text messaging app i had been using ever since i bought the phone.. i updated it the last time it notified me of an update && then it stopped working... always force closing.. so i had to use chomp SMS instead.. but i hate chomp -- handcent is ten times better.. i tried reinstalling handcent on my phone but i couldnt even find it in the android market so i was assumed the maker removed it from the store.. do any of you know of any other text messaging apps that are really good for the droid incredible? or do you know of any way that i could possibly put handcent SMS back on my phone?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI seem to in almost all instances not be receiving text messages. This is definitely hit or miss. I've determined it's not service related as it's only happening to me, and it's not location related. It's not related to the services of the people texting me. It's definitely not every single time, but it's a lot. My messages seem to be going out without a problem. After extensive testing I seem to have narrowed down this problem somewhat. There seems to be a problem with the messaging app on my phone. I determined this by downloading Handcent SMS. The moment I did this, I started receiving text messages again consistently and without problem. Uninstalling the program put me int he same place I was before. Can anyone determine what the problem may be with this additional information. Perhaps I have done something ill-advised to my phone so here is as much information about it that I can think of:

I am running a 2.1 rooted phone with (as far as I know) the stock ROM that came with the Incredible (prior to 2.2). I purchased the phone with 2.1 and it did an OTA update to 2.2. However there were so many problems with the update that I decided to go back to 2.1. I did this and rooted which seems to prevent the OTA update even though I don't have a custom ROM. In addition to Rooting, I disabled (using the method of moving the files to a disabled folder)

Aside from this and installing some apps, I haven't done anything that I can think of to the phone that may have caused this problem. There are only a few apps that I've installed that I didn't have before downgrading and rooting my phone.

I do occasionally receive a text message but it seems more "miss" than hit. As far as I know, I was not having this problem before I went to 2.2 (and then downgraded back to 2.1). Since I'm back at 2.1, I don't see how it should be any different from before unless I did something. Seeing as how it doesn't look like anyone else has had this problem after rooting (as far as I've been able to see in the forum). I'm hoping I've missed something. I've tried *228 option 2 (and option 1). Nothing else seems affected, not call quality or email or any data services that I can tell. I'm of course perfectly willing to completely reset my phone but only want to do that if it will actually do some good.
A while back I was looking through either the stock messaging app or Handcent and saw an option to auto reply to text messages, and you could change the text to make it say whatever you needed it to say. Today I tried looking for that option again and didn't find anything. I searched on the forum but only found other apps that I would need to install in order to do this. Hopefully someone knows what option I am talking about or uses it. If not, I can always use Tasker to do this, but prefer to use the messaging apps.Edit: So I found the answer about 30 seconds after posting this. I cant seem to figure this out, I want it to vibrate when I have vibrate mode on but I want sound only when I have it off of vibrate mode. I know you can go into settings each time but I want to avoid that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone will not vibrate when I receive and SMS text message. I have checked and unchecked the vibrate box multiple times and nothing changes. It is not a big deal unless I have my phone on vibrate mode because I am in a meeting or something. During those times, I have no way of knowing if I received a message outside of pulling out my phone and checking it every few minutes. Anyone else having this problem or have any suggestions?
