Jun 25, 2010I like how contact shortcuts are done in Android 2.1, where you click on the contact shortcut and a quick menu showing phone, contact card, SMS and email are shown. I also like how when you click one of those items, you get to choose, for example, Text Home or Text Mobile. What I seem to be noticing, though, is that if I check the box that says, "Do this action by default" or whatever it is, then it does things by default for all of those actions. For example, if I check that box when I select "Text Mobile," because, really, I'm never ever ever ever going to text someone at home, then I go and select the call icon, rather than asking me if I want to Call Home or Call Mobile, it just calls (in this case, mobile). Anyone know how I can straighten this out and have my "default" only affect the one action?

I've done a lot of searching and reading, but can't seem to find anything on this, except to delete the folder and then recreate it in the order I want, this is quite difficult for something that I should be able to just drag around in the folder.

Question: Is there an option (some keyboard or other method) that if I type two a (aa) and phone automatically transforms it to ā. I found that stock android keyboard has shortcuts, but it doesn't change these phrases - they only show them as suggestion.

Jun 8, 2012Is there an app that will let me run window shortcuts/commands from an android device? For example, here is what I'm trying to accomplish:
1. I have 3 monitors but due to limitation in my video card, only 2 monitors can be shown at a given time.
2. I want to easily switch between them using the phone instead of from the PC.
3. If you have windows 7 you know that to switch displays you can press the windows+P keys and then toggle between 4 different display options. I created shortcuts for this since I only need one of the display options, not all 4. So I just have to double click and it'll quickly switch, cool.
4. So now I just need a way to be able to run that shortcut away from my PC.

1. What exactly is "freezing" an app? Will it remove the app from the app drawer? Will it just prevent it from running?
2. Can I use Titanium backup to delete apps that are safe for delete like amazon.mp3, etc?
3. If I "freeze" an app like backup assistant will it still be on the phone so that it doesn't brick if I do a reset?
4. Can I delete or freeze things like crap ringtones so they don't show up when I am setting a ringtone?
